“With nearly 5 square kilometers of area, Bungendore Park shows how community involvement can transform severely degraded land back into pristine bushland. Wildflowers abound during winter and spring. The 3 Black Cockatoo species of Western Australia visit and nest in this area. Rare and endangered Flora and Fauna are maintained in weed free bushland. Phythphora dieback has affected up to 60% of the park, but its spread has been curtailed by treatments of the interface between Dieback free and infected areas. Kangaroos, goannas, and many other Fauna are visible throughout the park.”
