Sacred garden
First, we’ll visit Kichijyoji temple, which was an important center of learning in Edo (the old name for Tokyo) during the 17th century. I’ll explain the temple’s history and architecture and tell you some fascinating stories about it. Secondly,we’ll visit Fuji-jinjya shrine, which was enshrined on the top of a man-made hill which represents the mt.Fuji in the Edo period. Many people visited this artificial hill as if they felt like claiming up the real mt.Fuji, which has been cherished as a sacred mountain. Let’s claiming up this small mt.Fuji! Then we’d be able to feel what common people believed back then. Finally, we’ll walk to Rikugien – a beautiful 300-year-old garden which is my favorite place in Tokyo. I’ll explain the garden’s secrets and introduce you to ancient Japanese poetry (“waka"), which played an important part in the lives of samurai feudal lords and the nobility. This tour offers you a gateway into Japanese history and aesthetics. Together we’ll explore the roots of Japanese society and culture. ※この体験は英語で開催されます。日本語をご希望の方は貸切にてお申し込みをお願いいたします

AuthenticTeaCeremonyInJapaneseTinyHouse
I will guide you to a small room when you get to my home. We called the waiting room 'Yoritsuki'. Please leave your luggage here and wear white socks which I prepared and then drink hot water. --- In the old days the roads were not paved and tabi(Japanese socks) was easily soiled. But colored tabi looked not so dirty. Therefore they decided to wear white tabi before entering the tea room for emphasizing cleanliness. This custom came down to the present day. Hot water means "I'll make today's tea with this water." --- And then enter the tea room. I will show you my demonstration of tea-serving at first. Please relax and enjoy Japanese sweets and powdered green tea, matcha. After that, it's your turn. Don't worry! Not all. I'll teach the act of folding the fukusa. It needed to purify some tea utensils. Then, please enjoy to serving tea. Other things to note We'll spend the duration of the ceremony in a seated kneeling position, so please wear appropriate attire. You may be uncomfortable in a miniskirt or stiff jeans, for example.

Nippori Fabric Town Walking Tour
Do you love sewing? Then, join this tour! Nippori Fabric Town is a wholesale textile district in Tokyo. There are more than 90 shops along with the main street over 1km long. Because of its large selection and low prices, Nippori is called “The Holy Place for Sewing Lovers”. Since there are so many shops, you might be overwhelmed and at a loss for what and where to buy. Also, because it is a wholesale town, there are some rules you should follow when shopping. In this tour I would like to introduce the very best shops, including small ones in the adjacent side roads. You will also get some tips to enjoy shopping in Nippori. That includes my original glossary, “English-Japanese Sewing Term Lists”. Why don’t you join the tour and find your favorite items at a good price?

Exclusive Ramen Kitchen Experience
Make delicious ramen in a real ramen shop. This ramen shop also happens to be one of Tokyo's best, having won several awards. The ramen shop has kindly offered us exclusive access - something normally not available! You will feel like a true ramen chef during this unique experience. Take in all the sights and sounds and feel just like a ramen chef. You'll learn all about ramen prep and the ingredients used - including each of their purpose and where they come from. Please note that this isn't a cooking class where you'd be making everything from scratch. We've shortened the whole process, saving you hours of waiting time. Even just the broth takes 10 hours to make! Instead, this experience is about getting a VIP look at what goes on inside an actual ramen shop. This of course includes putting together delicious ramen. * Please be aware that the ramen contains chicken, pork, and fish. * Also, please note that we have multiple guides.
Tokyo live walk
Firstly, we’ll visit the 300 year old Nezu shrine, which is my favorite shrine in Tokyo. I'll explain the history of the shrine and tell you some various beliefs and traditions of ancient Japanese people. When you pass through the “100 red gate tunnel”, you’ll feel as if you are back to the Edo era (17th to 19th century). Secondly, we’ll walk around Yanaka area which is a part of Ueno. The area we’ll walk around is a pretty downtown and a quiet residential area. There are many temples and small traditional shops. I’m sharing some interesting stories behind the places that we’ll visit. You may buy a little souvenirs and eat snacks if you like. The tour ends at a local popular shopping street, Yanaka Ginza. Since I live near here, I can share some of my favorite shops. Ueno was one of the battlegrounds of Meiji Restoration in 1868. I’ll tell about how Japan has changed from the era of the samurai to modernized Japan, sharing my university knowledge and my family story. Note: Please be sure to wear your comfortable walking shoes. ※この体験は英語で開催されます。日本語をご希望の方は貸切にてお申し込みをお願いいたします
Genuine Wagashi Experience By the Maestro At His Mochi Shop
Welcome to Tokyo, Japan! If you have chance to come to Tokyo, not only enjoying sightseeing, but we recommend you try one of Japanese traditional artistic activities. Join us making delicious and beautiful "Wagashi", traditional Japanese sweets. Different from workshop at a room in an apartment, you can experience really genuine one at a small, quaint, local, real Mochi shop in Shinjuku, led by a Japanese Wagashi artisan. For this reason, many national and international celebrities have also become our guests. You will be making some pieces of seasonally inspired "Nerikiri", a kind of Wagashi made of sweet white bean paste and MOCHI. First, please watch closely and learn while we demonstrate how to make Wagashi, then it's your turn to try your hand at Wagashi making. Delicately form the colored dough into various shapes by hand and carefully add lines with tools to perfectly portray "the seasonal beauty of Japan". Even if you have little experience in creative activities or cooking, we will carefully guide you through the process. 【note】 Please understand previously that the host of this experience is not a commercial type of person, but a Japanese real Wagashi artisan. And usually, Japanese real artisan cannot speak English well. But we will do our best to make you enjoy this experience!
