The gabled porch at the front of the property is a useful space for storing coats and shoes, and from here, the stable front door leads into a small hall. The following rooms are on the ground floor: Living room: This elegant room has original beams and bespoke furnishings and contains a large sandstone fireplace with cosy wood burning stove, two sofas and a footstool, a Smart TV with Netflix access for account holders only, and a well-stocked games cupboard with board games, books and children’s drawing books; Kitchen/dining room: Through the internal French doors in the living room lies the wonderful open plan kitchen/dining area. This luxurious space, reminiscent of a Homes & Gardens feature, is flooded with natural light from the glass roof lantern and is perfect for socialising. This space contains a double electric oven, a three-ring induction hob and extraction bar, fridge and freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster and Nespresso coffee machine. There is also a washing machine, iPod docking station with Bluetooth connector, round dining table with seating for four and two armchairs; Cloakroom: Contains a toilet and wash basin. The staircase, with its ornate overhead chandelier, leads from the entrance hall to the first floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Master bedroom: This stunning room has been smartly decorated with antique French light fittings and a panelled feature wall which contrasts with the otherwise light, neutral tones of the room. This bedroom contains a king size bed, a fitted wardrobe and trunk for additional storage, a gilt-edged mirror and an armchair; Bedroom 2: Overlooking the garden, this lovely room has a modern contemporary countryside décor and contains a double bed, bedside tables and hanging rail with shelf for storage and a bedroom chair; Family bathroom: A stylish bathroom which contains a bath with overhead shower, toilet, wash basin, heated towel rail and demister mirror. The enchanting south facing back garden wraps around the cottage, with miniature box hedges and an array of beautiful flowers, shrubs and mature trees filling the raised beds at the borders. An impressive date palm tree gives the garden an exotic feel and besides this lies the patio area which contains a large outdoor table with seating for four and a charcoal barbecue. To the side of the cottage there is a lawn area and the addition of dusk-to-dawn sensory lights around the garden creates a romantic atmosphere and makes it a delightful spot to relax in the summer months once the sun’s set. Two stone steps lead up to the summer house which looks down the driveway and across to the neighbouring farmland and 12th century church. Equipped with heating, electricity and a spacious bamboo seating area, the summer house is another wonderful area in which to unwind after days spent exploring the Cotswolds. The gated driveway provides off-street parking for up to two small cars, and further on-street parking is available on the lane.
The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.

Broadway is a beautiful village in the North Cotswolds, steeped in history and surrounded by stunning countryside. The village gets its name from the wide street, or broad way, that runs through the centre which was once the main road from Worcester to London. This attractive High Street is bordered with chestnut trees and honey coloured stone cottages dating from the 16th century and is one of the most picturesque villages of the Cotswolds. The broad way is thought to be especially wide because at one time there used to be streams running each side of the main drive. These streams were eventually hidden in underground pipes where they would emerge at 'dipping' points, but sadly they are now almost completely invisible. The village has artistic links with famous dwellers including J.M. Barrie, Mary Anderson and William Morris, who were drawn to the tranquillity of Broadway. It was here that Morris and John Ruskin pioneered the idea of the Arts and Crafts Movement which made its home in the area and went on to be an international movement. One of the iconic features of the village is Broadway Tower which was built in the late 18th century by the Earl of Coventry. It is said that the tower was erected so that the Countess could see if her Cotswold estate was visible from Croome Court in Worcestershire, which it was. The folly stands some 1,024 feet above sea level, making it the second highest point in the Cotswolds after Cleeve Hill. In fact, on a clear day, visitors are able to see 14 counties from the top! William Morris was so taken by the tower that he went on to establish the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings in 1877. Food & Drink Broadway has a number of places to eat and drink, with a range of cuisines and prices to suit most tastes and budgets. The list below is a sample of the options available: Russell's (www.russellsofbroadway.co.uk): Head Chef, Neil Clarke, serves modern British food in the award-winning restaurant, with local Vale of Evesham and Cotswold produce featuring throughout the daily-changing menus. The modern, airy dining room is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with friendly staff and laid-back service combining to create a relaxed and warm setting, day and night; The Lygon Arms (http://www.thehotelcollection.co.uk/hotels/the-lygon-arms-hotel-cotswolds/): A 17th century minstrel's gallery, a grand open fire and an imposing barrel-vaulted ceiling greet you as you enter The Great Hall, the main dining room of the famous Lygon Arms Hotel. A destination in its own right, people travel miles to enjoy the restaurant's 2 AA Rosettes for excellence sumptuous cuisine and warm friendly service of the highest quality. A few steps across the courtyard, Lukes Bistro offers a relaxing atmosphere serving traditional English cuisine with a contemporary twist, equally as imaginative and as fresh, using ingredients that are grown and reared locally, including a wide range of herbs and plums from the hotel's own orchards; The Potting Shed (www.dormyhouse.co.uk/potting-shed-restaurant): The Potting Shed is everything a Cotswold country dining pub should be. It's relaxed and inviting, with a large leather-and-oak bar and a rustic agenda. This is English pub grub as it ought to be: sticky ribs, great bangers, slow-cooked pork belly and fish that's been caught on our shores. Dress up and enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail, or dress down and bring the kids.

Traditional stairs from the landing lead to the second floor bedroom: Bedroom 3: This charming eaves room has a king size bed, ornamental fire place, dressing table and wardrobe.

The Stables is a recently converted Victorian annexe on the main house. It has allocated parking space, and it's own front door for access to the property & a 12 foot square patio area at the rear of the annexe. The Stables has a double bedroom with en-suite shower room. In addition there is a sofa bed in the lounge area which is suitable for 2 young children or one adult . We allow medium and small dogs to visit. For parents with babies, we provide a high chair and cot but (no cot bedding)
The kitchen is located within the lounge area, It is a large bright and airy space, it has a built in dishwasher, oven, hob, microwave and a tall fridge freezer. We have done our best to ensure that all utensils are included and we would welcome advice on any additions we could make to improve the guest experience. There is also Freeview, Sky TV and unlimited Wi Fi included.
The Stables is located in the quiet village of Blackminster which is a 20-minute walk from the world-famous Fleece Inn in Bretforton and a 10-minute drive from the pretty market town of Evesham. Within a 20-minute drive you can also explore Shakespeare’s Stratford-Upon-Avon, the stunning Regency town of Cheltenham Spa for some serious shopping, and of course the beautiful Chipping Camden.
  • Sterk aanbevelen!

  • Fantastisch klein huisje.

    Alex2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Knorretje huisje is echt mooi. - Bedankt Bee.

    Rosina2019-08-11T00:00:00Z

    Louella2019-07-14T00:00:00Z

Dress up and enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail, or dress down and bring the kids.
  • Geweldig plek. Goede locatie.

Weston sub Edge is a small village close to the start of the Cotswold Way, 20 minutes from the home of Shakespeare at Stratford Upon Avon, two miles from Chipping Campden and its Music and Literature Festivals, Broadway, Longborough Opera, Daylesford, National Trust properties such as Hidcote and Snowshill Manor. We are the ideal location for walking and exploring, so do bring your dog. Transport is essential as we are very rural and taxis and buses aren't always available.
This is a recently converted coach house. It originally housed the village's milk float, hence the name The Quart. We are on the edge of the quiet village of Weston sub Edge, just two miles from Chipping Campden which is where you will find the nearest shops although there is a pub, The Seagrave Arms the other end of the village, a short walk away. The Quart is a cosy, open plan home with a spacious kitchen/living room, a double bedroom and an ensuite shower room. There is room in the sitting room for a travel cot but no door between the bedroom and the sitting room. We are very rural and consequently wifi and mobile signals can be patchy. There is underfloor heating throughout and it is furnished and decorated to a high standard. The bedroom has a comfortable double bed with hanging space and shelves. The kitchen area is fully equipped with a double hob, oven with grill, kettle, toaster and fridge with ice compartment. The living area has a tv/dvd player and a comfortable sofabed with extra cushions and blankets. There are lots of books, dvds, walking guides and games for your entertainment as well as recommendations of places to eat and things to do.
The North Cotswolds is a very attractive area with lots to see and do locally. If you are keen on walking or cycling, there are a number of good and challenging routes around. The local towns are bursting with history and ripe for exploration. Chipping Campden marks the start (or finish) of The Cotswold Way and has a number of annual festivals including music and literature , and also hosts The Cotswold Olympicks. Broadway has a fantastic art scene and a brilliant deli. Stratford upon Avon and Cheltenham are 20 minutes away. Nearby National Trust properties include Dover's Hill, Hidcote Gardens, Snowshill and The Fleece Pub. This is a very foodie area and recommendations for local pubs and resaurants are listed in the welcome pack.
  • Hield absoluut van ons verblijf in The Quart.

    Mike2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • We wilden dat we langer hadden geboekt bij The Quart. Het was in elk opzicht uitstekend. We raden het ten zeerste aan.

    Joanne2019-07-06T00:00:00Z

We are located in the countryside but within easy reach of Cheltenham, Stratford-on-Avon, the Cotswolds, the Malverns and Worcester. We are a working farm at the foot of Bredon Hill, just over one mile from the local village which has a great pub. There are many great walks and cycle routes around and we also have a large pond which is great for fishing in or relaxing by. The Woodshed is great for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families (with children).
The Woodshed is a beautiful, detached, timber clad dwelling on an organic farm in the heart of Worcestershire. It is situated next to the farm house, off a quiet country lane, surrounded by fields and with fantastic views of Bredon Hill and the Malverns. A perfect place to relax and use as a base to explore the surrounding area. Sit outside and enjoy the sunshine or stars in good weather or curl up in front of the woodburning stove when the weather turns chilly.
Elmley Castle is a picturesque village with a lovely pub serving great food, a cricket green, a playground, and plenty of footpaths that give access to Bredon Hill and the surrounding villages. The Woodshed is situated just over a mile outside the village along a quiet lane. The nearest town is Pershore which is a ten minute drive away and has various shops and supermarkets as well as good restaurants, pubs and takeaways.

in the Vale of Evesham, our beautiful home; built 1904 with many original features, is a perfect for touring Cotswold villages, climbing the Malvern hills, visiting Stratford upon Avon or local National Trust houses/gardens. Regular trains between London & Evesham BUT car is essential for touring the area.
Overlooking quiet gardens, our peaceful guest bedroom has the use of a small recently refurbished bathroom nearby, no bath, but with a generous sized shower and downstairs there is a further shower room. Occasionally the shower rooms will need to be shared when the single room is occupied. Please note the double bed is standard size, 4'6" wide by 6'6" long. Unless I have friends over for supper guests are welcome to use the kitchen to cook a meal, though most people seem to go out to eat.
Apart from our lovely neighbours, we have the River Avon and a great prize winning park beside it. For night life we have the amazing restored Art Deco private cinema, The Regal, with the latest films, live acts and music.
  • Caroline was erg vriendelijk.

A beautifully thatched and beamed Cotswold cottage that’s immaculately and tastefully furnished and feels homely, loved and cherished. Sleeping 4 in a comfortable king size double and twin bedroom, it’s perfect for a family, two couples or one couple who like a little extra room. Centrally located in the historic village of Bretforton (and a stone's throw from the historic Fleece Inn), it’s an ideal base to explore surrounding Cotswold villages – many of which are within a 10-minute drive.
Located in the heart of Bretforton, just across from the village green, next door to Bretforton Village School’s playing field, within sight of St. Leonard’s Church and a stone’s throw from the National Trust-owned Fleece Inn, Old Fox Cottage will capture your heart even before you go in. The Tiffany-blue front door, with its foxy door knocker, peeping out from under the immaculate thatched roof, sets the tone for your stay here. It is a delightful property. The owners, Adam and Lois, have worked tirelessly to produce a look and feel that is tasteful and luxurious throughout the cottage. With its peaceful blues, calm creams and woodland themes, you’ll feel particularly warm, cosy and cosseted here. The attention to detail is fantastic, with every mod con anticipated and provided. Shut the front door and all the worries of the world melt away. What makes this cottage additionally attractive is the village of Bretforton itself, which is a friendly, welcoming place best demonstrated by its community shop, stocked with essential items and tasty goodies. Similarly, the Fleece Inn is a warm and friendly place with an impressive calendar of events and activities to enjoy while sampling their hearty menu and fine wines and beers. Even if you never venture further than Bretforton, you’ll have a great stay. However, being just 6 miles from Broadway and Chipping Camden, 12 miles from Stratford-on-Avon, 18 miles from Cheltenham, 30 miles from Birmingham and 40 miles from Oxford, the best of the Cotswolds is on your doorstep. One of England’s Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), the Cotswolds is renowned for its lovely, honey-gold stone cottages amidst quiet, well-preserved villages set in rural countryside. Walking, sight-seeing and cycling are the most popular activities with visitors to Old Fox Cottage. The Community Shop and Café has become a social hub for the village, selling a wide range of essential items and local produce. Open from 7.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday; 8am – 5pm Saturday; and 9am – 1pm Sunday. You can find the Community Shop in the same grounds as Bretforton Social Club, which can be accessed by car from New Street or on foot via Main Street. For a more substantial shop, there’s Warner’s Budgens, 6 miles away in Broadway (open 8am – 9pm Monday – Sunday). The Chadbury Farm Shop in Evesham is also an excellent source of fresh local produce. Alternatively, for a big weekly shop or if you need a pharmacy, there is a Morrisons and Tesco Superstore in Evesham. If you’d like a break from cooking, the Fleece Inn serves traditional English favourites, including locally grown asparagus during the season (April is high season), local faggots, home-made pies and fish and chips. (They even do take away fish and chips, cider and beers.) They serve food made from with at least 30% of the ingredients sourced from within 30 miles of Evesham. Best of all, it’s in walking distance of the Cottage. When you’re ready to go adventuring, Broadway, Broadway Tower and Chipping Camden are great for walkers, cyclist or for a short car trip. Some of the Cotswolds’ most popular villages, towns and attractions are within a 30-minute drive, including Bourton-on-the-Water, Snowshill, Batsford, Moreton-in-Marsh and Stow-on-the-Wold. See the ‘Guidebook’ below for details of things to do and places to see. FULL DESCRIPTION GROUND FLOOR Entrance Hall Enter through the partially glazed front door straight into the light-filled Entrance Hall, which combines as a snug vestibule (great for sinking into the comfy armchairs while pulling off boots and coats) and practical room with cupboard for coats and wellies and a helpful umbrella stand. With its wooden floor, cream tongue-and-groove panelling and original beams, the Entrance Hall offers a warm welcome. Left into… The Living Room The Tiffany blue and cream theme continues into this lovely room, tastefully furnished with two sumptuous armchairs and a large double sofa. The most striking feature in here is the inglenook fireplace with original beam work. Within the fireplace is a wood-effect electric burner. The Living Room is all ready for a cosy night in, where you can enjoy the large, flat-screen digital TV with Blu Ray DVD player and a wealth of films. Alternatively, there’s a Wii console with games if you’re feeling more energetic. An Emma Bridgwater DAB radio with iPod docking station on the dresser is set up for playing your own playlist or a podcast. Back and left to... The Kitchen The beautiful and immaculate country-cottage kitchen has been carefully designed so that every appliance you’ll need for your stay is there, but cleverly hidden away to provide everything you need in a small space; the only obvious appliance is the gas hob with built in oven and extractor hood above. However, an integral slimline Hotpoint dishwasher and integral fridge can be found beside the cooker, whilst behind an ingenious bifold cupboard you’ll find the bread bin, Kenwood microwave and Dualit toaster and kettle. The wall units house everything you’ll need to cater for your group. There’s also an iron under the large ceramic sink and a high chair, picnic basket and vacuum in the under-stair cupboard. Left through to… Utility/Laundry Room A compact space where you’ll find the Hotpoint combined washing machine/dryer, a small library of books, re-chargeable tea light candles and storage cupboards housing cleaning materials and the boiler. Left through to… Family Bathroom As with the rest of the cottage, this room is impeccably and tastefully appointed with limestone floor and travertine wall tiles. Relax and soak away stresses in the large roll top bath that sits under the small private window overlooking the side path. Or enjoy a rainfall shower in the separate elevated double-shower enclosure. The bathroom is thoughtfully stocked with all the shampoo, shower gel and bubble bath you could need – so don’t weigh your luggage down with those heavy items. Return out to… Dining Conservatory Streaming with bright light (even on an overcast day), the heated Dining Conservatory is a great living space: by day it’s an extra living and eating space where you’ll sit to enjoy your breakfasts and lunches and access the patio garden and BBQ outside. By night, it can be transformed into an intimate dinning space with shimmering lighting. Return to…   UPSTAIRS Up the stairs from kitchen turning right into... Master double bedroom The oldest part of the cottage, the master double-bedroom has a cosy yet luxurious feel, tucked under the beams and eaves. From the iron-frame double bedstead you can enjoy private views through the traditional cottage windows. The cushioned window seat is a wonderful place to sit and while away some relaxation time. The bedroom has a lovely full-length cheval mirror, a deep clothes closet, a hairdryer and a digital flat-screen TV for bedtime viewing. Up the stairs from kitchen turning left into... Twin Bedroom A delightful room with two large, single beds, fluffy bed linen with bed throws, original beams and window overlooking a flat roof to the patio beyond. Ideal for children, this room would also suit two adults because of its L-shaped layout, providing individual privacy in a shared space. OUTSIDE The area to the rear of the cottage has been laid to patio and is reached either through the side gate and path or through the back door from the Dining Conservatory. In this clever us of space you’ll find a lovely, ivy-walled sun trap. The main patio area is up two stone steps where there’s a large ‘Outback’ gas BBQ, a rattan-style patio table with four matching chairs to one side and two rattan-style sofas with all-weather coffee table on the other. For a property in the heart of a village, this outside space is marvellously private being surrounded by high walls. (Note: one small window overlooks the area to one side but seems rarely unused.)

When asparagus is in season, it’s the only place to really enjoy this local speciality. The local faggots, home-made pies and fish and chips are favourites of ours. (They even do take away fish and chips, cider and beers!) When you’re ready to go adventuring, Broadway, Broadway Tower and Chipping Camden are great for seasoned walkers or a short car trip out. Whilst further afield, Bourton-on-the-Water is a firm favourite for children with its famous Model Village, Birdland and ice cream parlours. Should you have the misfortune of feeling unwell whilst you’re with us, there’s a doctor’s surgery in Evesham and hospitals nearby in Worcester and Cheltenham. The nearest dentist is Evesham Dental Health Team.

Nogmaals bedankt! Ben en Tash

Pye Corner Cottage is a beautiful, grade II listed, thatched cottage, peacefully located on the edge of the beautiful Cotswolds village of Broadway, which is often referred to as the "Jewel of the Cotswolds" and the "Show Village of England". Broadway is well known for its excellent art galleries, as well as its restaurants, pubs and gift shops. The village is also perfectly placed for exploring the many beautiful towns and villages of the Cotswolds and the Vale of Evesham, as well as Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare. Important Customer Notice: - Special Events: Christmas, New Year and the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival are Special Events, with bookings typically limited to weeks only from a specific start day If your dates don’t appear to fit, then please click Contact Host below to find out what options may exist for you!

Family bathroom: Contains a bath with separate shower, toilet and wash basin. Pye Corner Cottage's large enclosed garden is to the rear of the property, with beautiful rural views. The garden is mostly laid to lawn and contains an outdoor table and seating for five, plus a charcoal barbecue during the warmer months of the year. There is a pond in the garden, as well as a Bramley apple tree and a Victoria plum tree, which guests are welcome to use. To the rear of the garden is an off-street parking area, with space for a number of cars to park.

The Old Piggery is a romantic and cosy barn conversion, located within the semi-rural village of Broom. Just 15 mins drive to Stratford-Upon-Avon, the RSC and Shakespeare's Birthplace and approximately 20 mins to the edge of the beautiful Cotswolds.
The Old Piggery is a wonderful barn conversion set within the grounds of our home. It was converted in 2014 to an extremely high standard and totally refurbished throughout. It is believed to date back to the sixteenth century. The original oak beams are exposed throughout the barn, with vaulted ceilings. Modernised sympathetically and converted into a stylish and comfortable holiday home. It features underfloor heating throughout and a log burner, perfect for snuggling up! French doors lead to a stone paved area and a shared pretty cottage style garden, where there is a bistro table and chairs to enjoy alfresco dining. Please note the paved area is old flagstones so they are a little uneven! It is self-contained and located opposite the main barn with a gravel courtyard area in between. The barn sleeps two. It has a cosy double bedroom with a vaulted ceiling and exposed beams. The wrought iron king size bed has a comfortable hand built mattress and luxurious bed linen to ensure you get a great night’s sleep. The open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room also has a vaulted ceiling with original exposed beams, an oak floor and a log burner for those chillier days. The kitchen features a solid oak worktop, ceramic sink, integral dishwasher and washer/dryer, fridge freezer, microwave, electric oven and gas hob. The contemporary bathroom has a slate floor and P-shaped bath with a deluge shower above. Quirky touches include patchwork tiles above the sink and hand carved pegs out of reclaimed oak. Luxury towels are also included. The combi boiler provides instant hot water and there is underfloor heating throughout. We also have a woodburner, as you just can't beat a real fire. Inside there is a 32" flat screen TV, DVD player, DVD’s, Freeview, BT Wifi, Bose iPod docking station and books. We should mention, there is no smoking in the barn.
The Old Piggery is situated in a semi-rural village away from main roads yet within easy reach of Stratford-upon-Avon; Evesham; Warwick and close to the Cotswolds; Cheltenham; Birmingham and the National Exhibition Centre, all less than forty minutes away. We are surrounded by lovely walks, yet just 7 miles from the centre of Stratford upon Avon with the Royal Shakespeare Birthplace, the RSC Theatre and numerous good restaurants, Pubs, Shops, Markets.....over the bridge on the River Avon for boat hire, mini golf, tennis, etc. We are also very fortunate to have two excellent pubs within the village, just a few minutes’ walk away. Broom Hall is a quality steak house and traditional country pub and the other, Broom Tavern, is a gastro pub, both serve great food. Take a riverside walk in nearby Bidford on Avon, just 1.5 miles away, or set off directly from the barn. If you like walking or cycling the Greenway is well worth a visit. It is a seven mile stretch of flat pathway (with no cars) stretching all the way from, Stratford Upon Avon to Long Marston. As the Greenway was originally created from a disused railway line, you will find two café’s along the way, interestingly housed within old train carriages. Our local supermarket, Budgens, can be found in Bidford on Avon. Just a short drive away (2.5 miles) in the village of Dunnington you will find a fantastic farm Shop, which stocks excellent local produce including; meat from The Ragley Estate, a Fishmongers, fruit and veg and a deli and cheese counter. They also have a very popular café serving home cooked food, a garden centre and a gift shop. Well worth a visit!

    Owen2019-11-15T00:00:00Z

You’ll love our place because of the friendly hosts, character of the property, outdoor space, and home from home feeling. This spacious double size room is good for couples, solo & business travellers. Pets are welcome. For larger groups we have additional ensuite rooms available
This double room is perfect for couples, but is also ideal for the solo & business traveller. There is ample storage space for clothes etc and the en-suite shower room. Bottled water, tea and coffee are available in the room. Continental breakfast is available on weekdays, with traditional full cooked breakfast being served at weekends. We are happy to cater for special dietary requirements.
Our Neighbourhood is extremely quiet but friendly so, if you take a walk around the village, you will no doubt be welcomed! We are lucky enough to live next door to the Broom Hall Inn, a great family pub and restaurant famous across the region for top class steaks. Just 5 minutes walk through the village is another great eatery and village pub, the Broom Tavern, serving delicious food with weekly specials and themed menus.

    Lorraine2020-03-08T00:00:00Z

The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.

Welcome to my home. Bedroom and dressing/sitting room and bathroom. Lovely Cotswold views from your window's intro you to country life. Charming village a foodie pub's and shop with tea room. Walks, views, charm and history await your stay. Its a private working house in the country and I welcome people to simple space, hospitality and jolly good breakfast. All I ask is that you enjoy your time in The Cotswold's and embrace my home as a home
Simple space that is comfortable and relaxed in a private house that is a working house and not a hotel or indeed aB&B. Your space will be respected and I believe I offer value for money ( The Cotswold's is a busy and expensive location for accomodation with 2or3 night min occupancy only at key months ) in a lovey part of The UK. Therefore Airbnb and The Garden House offer great value and flexibility - plus a warm welcome for sure !
Willersey is a delightful Cotswold Village. Small but it has life and soul - pubs and one shop allows easy living. On the door step of all the Key Cotswold villages and attractions. Also Stratford upon Avon and Cheltenham are both 25mins away if the countryside gets too much !

    Charles2019-09-12T00:00:00Z

    Andrew2019-08-29T00:00:00Z

    Philip2019-08-23T00:00:00Z

Welcome to Bracken Cottage, brought to you exclusively by Character Cottages, local specialists in stylish, Cotswold holiday rentals. Bracken Cottage is a traditional Cotswold stone cottage built to house the weavers who worked in the many silk mills of the beautiful village of Blockley. The cottage is one of a row on a quiet road and the rooms at the back benefit from fabulous views of the surrounding Blockley Valley. The historic village is very peaceful and picturesque yet benefits from having two pubs and a community owned village shop & café, as well as a historic Norman church in the centre of the village. Numerous scenic country walks are accessible directly from the cottage and Blockley is well located for visiting the many beautiful towns and villages of the Cotswolds. Important Customer Notice: - Special Events: Christmas, New Year and the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival are Special Events, with bookings typically limited to weeks only from a specific start day If your dates don’t appear to fit, then please click Contact Host below to find out what options may exist for you!
Bracken Cottage is one of a row of former silk weaver’s cottages set on a quiet road in the village of Blockley. The front door opens directly into the ground floor living area: Living room/dining room/kitchen: This homely open plan living space has a cosy wood burning stove, wooden beams and a stable door with views across to the fields beyond. This room contains a sofa, a window seat, a Smart TV, a fold away dining table with seating for two, an electric oven, four-ring gas hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, cafetière, kettle and toaster. Steep stairs lead up from the living area to the first floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Bedroom 2: A smart room with exposed painted beams, a king size bed, bedside tables, full length mirror and chest of drawers (please note the chest of drawers is not for guest use); Family bathroom: Decorated in a contemporary style, this spacious bathroom has a bath with handheld shower attachment, toilet, wash basin and a cupboard containing a washing machine. Further steep stairs lead directly into the master bedroom: Master bedroom: A characterful and cosy room in the eaves which contains a king size bed, Smart TV, chest of drawers and vanity mirror. The bedroom leads into the ensuite bathroom which contains a walk-in rain shower with handheld shower attachment, toilet and wash basin. The stable door leads from the kitchen into a wonderful landscaped garden with uninterrupted views of the countryside. The patio area directly outside the kitchen has a garden table with two benches, two chairs, a charcoal barbecue and a parasol. Three steps lead down from the patio to the lawn, bordered with timber beds along one side, and there is a further sunny patio and herb garden beyond. Free parking is available in the village car park opposite the cottage.
Blockley is a popular village in the Cotswolds which is found within a triangle formed by three renowned market towns: Chipping Campden to the North, Moreton-in-Marsh to the South East and Stow-on-the-Wold to the South. Being close to these three towns has led to increased footfall in the village, bringing with it good quality pubs and a lovely village shop/café. As the village is away from main roads, it avoids the heavy tourist traffic and so visitors can get a real sense of rural life, enjoying the rolling countryside which falls within the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The peaceful Blockley Brook attracts tourists and locals as a quiet place to relax in the warmer months. This brook, together with the other brook in the village, played a part in Blockley's history as there were once 12 water mills which provided work in various industries over the centuries, including silk production and flour milling. Architecturally the village has quite a different character in comparison to the rest of the North Cotswolds as it has a more similar style to that of the villages in the Stroud valley, but here they have used a more golden stone. This design is reminiscent of wealthier times as the majority of the cottages were built during the 17th and 18th century, at the height of the industrial era. A popular attraction in Blockley is Mill Dene Garden which is a partner garden of the Royal Horticultural Society. With a misty grotto, stream and seats around the mill pond, this is a lovely place to while away the time looking out for the kingfishers whilst enjoying a cream tea. Food & Drink For a relatively small village, Blockley is blessed with a number of places to eat and drink, all just a short walk from anywhere in the village. The Crown Inn (www.crownhotelblockley.co.uk): This 16th century country inn is situated in the heart of Blockley and features a restaurant serving dishes prepared with local produce, along with a bar with an open fire and a wide selection of real ales. This honey coloured historic inn is covered in Virginia creeper which turns a stunning red in Autumn. Walk inside to the scents of wood smoke from the open log fires and snuggle into a comfy chair by the fire, to view the daily papers with a coffee or something stronger. Dinner is served in the warm and friendly restaurant with lighter meals and snacks available in the bar. The Great Western Arms (https://www.hooky.co.uk/content/our-pubs/great-western-arms-blockley.ashx): The award winning Great Western Arms is the “Local” of Blockley. The “Western” as it is locally known, is a Hook Norton Brewery pub and is tenanted to Sharon Brace. It is right at the heart of the village both geographically and socially, and is where Sharon and her team serve up some of the finest food, drink and entertainment available. The pub has two rooms: one is used as the restaurant and the other houses a pool table, juke box and darts board (dogs are welcome in the pool room). The Pub has recently been extensively refurbished and now boasts 1st class facilities and comforts. The spacious lounge bar/restaurant retains its period "feel" but has been re-furnished and decorated with great taste and care. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and friendly. Blockley Village Shop & Café (blockleyshop.com): The community owned shop and café is the hub of the village. The shop offers a wide range of basic groceries and necessities, and a tempting array of local products, including farm meat and free-range eggs, daily deliveries of local fruit and veg, freshly baked bread and locally made ready meals. Logs are generally stocked in winter. The licensed café is open all day, serving breakfasts, lunches, coffees and teas, and home-baked cakes. Take-away hot and cold food, including croissants, pastries and baguettes, is also very popular. The café, where free broadband is available, is a popular meeting place for locals and visitors of all ages.
