Enjoy your stay on a 1988 Nordic Tug!! This boat is perfect for 2 people and can accommodate up to 4. All the amenities of an apartment but on the water.
Enjoy your stay on a 1988 Nordic Tug!! This boat is perfect for 2 people and can accommodate up to 4. All the amenities of an apartment but on the water. The boat is moored off of Westlake ave, on lake Union, less than a mile from South Lake Union's great shops, bars and restaurants. In the other direction, Fremont (otherwise known as the center of the universe) is a fantastic location for a place to eat, shop and play! And if you want to checkout downtown Seattle, the light rail is very convenient! Or its a long walk (less than 3 miles). Also, I will gladly take you out on the water if you have an interest and if I'm available to do so (I do charge a fee for my time and gas) I want you to really enjoy your stay, so you tell me what you want and I will help make it happen :-) Bedroom/stateroom - There is one stateroom located in the front/bow of the boat. There is a small bench and a bed/berth that sleeps two comfortably. Bathroom/head - There is one head located in the front/bow of the boat. It contains a pump toilet and a separate shower. It is small but very usable. The boat contains a 6 gallon hot water heater, so it's great for one shower or two quick showers. The head also contains a sink and a large mirror. Living quarters - The main cabin is located towards the aft/rear and is a relatively large space. It has a built in sitting area that can seat 5-6 and will also fold out to make a queen sized berth/bed. Kitchen/galley - The galley is located in the main living quarters. The stove is a two burner propane stove with a small oven. There is a microwave, small refrigerator, and a small sink with filtered water. I have a large folding table that can be used to eat on. Also, on the back deck there is a small propane BBQ. Bonus room - This is what I like to use as the entrance. It is located midship and has a cabin door on each side of the boat. Deck - Starting at the stern/back of boat. There is a cockpit/outdoor area at the stern/back of boat. This area contains a ladder to the upper deck and a hatch for entrance to the living quarters. The Upper deck has a railing all the way around and is a great place to watch the mornung sun rise above Eastlake. Boat location - The boat is located on a dock which has a few floating homes and other boats on it. The dock is in a very unique place with giant fishing boats, business offices, liveaboard boats close by. The water is almost always calm due to being located in a tucked away marina. Surrounding area - At first glance you might not realize what a perfect location you are in. You will be in walking distance (less than two miles) from South Lake Union, Queen Anne, Eastlake and Fremont. And within 3 miles you can add Green lake, Phinney Ridge, Ballard, and Downtown Seattle. Each one of these neighborhoods has its own unique twist. Each one has some of the best bars and restaurants in the city. If you like live music, the Tractor Tavern is one of my favorite venues (Ballard). If you are in town on Sunday, make sure you check out the farmers market in Fremont or Ballard. Great local produce and a wonderful environment to just hangout in. Other notable areas worth checking out are: International District (5 miles), Belltown (3 miles), Golden Gardens (4 miles), Discovery park (4 miles). I would be happy to recommend things to do, as well. Also, I will do my best in helping you get around. Disclaimer - This is a boat not the Four Seasons. This is a comfortable boat but by no means is it super luxurious. I keep the boat clean and cared for but it is an old boat. It has been used. I don't want to make this boat sound better than it is, although it is pretty awesome! It is on a dock near fishing boats and that can cause animals to be around. I have not had any problem with animals of any kind except maybe a bit of bird poop. But you should be aware of the different things you might experience when staying on any boat. I have lived on this boat for over 2 years and have really enjoyed my time here and want you to enjoy your time here as well. Please contact me with any questions :-)

  • I wanted to make sure my trip was memorable, so I figured I would stay in a tug boat, little did I know I would love it so much. I had a wonderful time and really enjoyed my stay, everything was smooth and it was warm and cozy even when I woke up to snow.

  • Sean was super welcoming and helpful during our entire stay. The boat is awesome and we had an amazing time.

    Corey2015-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sean was super welcoming and was easily reachable throughout my stay, though I didn't need to as his instructions were really clear and the boat was in great condition. It was clean and cozy and easy to live in. I loved waking up and watching the sun come up over the boats seaplanes on the lake, and at night I loved climbing down into the sleeping room. In the evenings, I played classical music over the speakers inside boat while reading and drinking wine and it was fabulous. I live in Seattle and rented the boat as an in-city getaway (while walking to my job every day in South Lake Union) and would recommend it to any Seattle visitor or resident looking for a unique escape.

  • What a fun experience! Great space, just as advertised and within walking distance of some great places in the Fremont area of Seattle. Really enjoyed it! Sean was available, and made sure we had all the information we needed to find it, get settled in and feel at home.

  • Fantastic! Clean, quiet and hospitable. The hosts were kind and welcoming.

  • Sean made the rental process smooth and trouble free. The boat is in a great location with all the amenities of an apartment. The view from the top deck is outstanding. We even saw the lighted boat parade from the top of the tug. We will certainly stay again the next time we are in Seattle.

  • In Seattle for business, I wanted somewhere to stay that wasn't a chain hotel, and this was definitely it. And this is why Airbnb is good, you get to stay at quirky places that you otherwise would never experience. Thanks to Sean for a great stay. The boat had everything I needed for my short stay. Of course, it isn't a hotel, and people should be aware of its limitations. It's not a huge space, but fine for one or two people. It's a boat, which is interesting and quirky but, seen another way, it's an RV that floats, and so the toilet and shower, for example, are functional rather than luxurious. There was no issue with security as the boat is in a marina behind locked gates. There is free car parking on site, and the #40 bus service runs into downtown Seattle from the street a few yards from the boat (use the TransitGo app to buy tickets).

  • Sean was a great host. He was very responsive to phone calls and email requests. He provided great info abt the neighborhood and near by neighborhoods. If you like to watch airplanes, this is a great location. I enjoyed working with Sean

  • This is a GREAT AirBnB location. I think that we must have gotten lucky with the rental for July 4, with the boat moorage with a terrific location to watch the fireworks, but the family agreed, this would be a great place to stay anytime. There was four of us, with two kids, 15 and 12. The ship is clean and attractive. It's smaller than a house, and I'd characterize it as staying in an upscale RV....on the water....with all the sounds and interesting people around. The neighborhood is great for walking around in, and very busy with folks in the warm months. Mary was a terrific host, her boat was clean, pleasant, and easy to access.

  • 非常棒,两张床都不小,房东很好,注意可淋浴不可上厕所

  • This boat was perfection! So idyllic with fantastic views. We brought our inflatable kayak and went out on the water at sunset and it was amazing views from every angle. The boat is in a great area and quite spacious for a boat- the bedroom was much bigger than I expected. There is plenty of space to just sit and watch the water, it is a great spot to rewind. We will try to come back!

    Lisa2017-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Mary's boat! It was in a beautiful spot, the boat itself was roomy, spotless and well-provisioned. We walked to restaurants and the park near the Center for Wooden Boats. It was a beautiful weekend and we had a great time!

    Juliet2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay in Seattle. You will enjoy the beautifulness of Lake Union. If you walk just few blocks north, you can see the house where they filmed Sleepless in Seattle! This place is very cozy. The atmosphere is just right to have few people to chat with all night long.

    Titipat2017-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • We loved it! The space is well organized, clean and thoughtfully decorated. The view from the top deck is unbeatable! Very relaxing!

    Colleen2017-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • I loved staying here! The location is delightful, with easy access to downtown and Seattle Center, and includes a nice view of the Space Needle. The boat is well-equipped and has a lot of compartments that allow for privacy, if you're in a group and need it. In addition to the 2 bedrooms, it has a nice central living room just up from the galley/kitchen plus a spacious covered patio, a comfortable, roomy pilot's/captain's area, and space on the bow outside. For those who may be concerned about stability or noise on a boat on a busy urban lake, the boat is very sturdy and level. There was an almost imperceptible, gentle, brief rocking only when a bigger boat's wake came through (a couple of times during the evening). Nothing slid around and I didn't feel any loss of balance as a result. And it was surprisingly quiet! I heard neighbors jump in the water for a swim or go paddleboarding a couple of times. That was it. On a weekday morning, the first seaplane was about 9 am and I was already awake, but I don't think it would have woken me if I'd been sleeping.

    Susan2017-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • I loved the location and the boat itself is pristine!

The Millie Hill is the tiniest, cutest houseboat in Seattle. She's more boat than house, and tiny, so a bit of an adventure. Bathroom and shower are on shore. The bunk is a standard twin, so best for a snuggly couple or a single traveler. But there's hardly a person who goes by who doesn't compliment. If it's one word, it's cute. More than that, and they're wishing they could live there. Cozy as only a good wood boat can be, it's the perfect place to experience watery Seattle.
Parking There is plenty of parking, paid on weekdays 9am to 4pm, free otherwise. Bathing Bathroom and shower are for individual use, and are in the office building at the head of the dock, about 100yds away. Two bathrooms on the water level, and two bathrooms and shower on the parking lot level, one flight of stairs up from the dock.
  • The view is spectacular. It's very cozy, and like a boat is best once you're sitting down not trying to stand up and move around. We had a little trouble with our inner ear, making us a little dizzy when we got back on land. It's super fun to go out onto the lake, of course lots of other people think it's fun to go out on the lake very early in the morning as well, and the voices of kayaks going by can be a little disconcerting. Dean is super nice, and he totally arranged with us some alternate check-in times because we were trying to head to bumbershoot.

    B Max2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot rave enough about this boat. Dean was responsive, hospitable, and so kind. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and the location cannot be beat!!!

    Amy2018-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Dean was very easy to communicate with and made sure we had a great experience.

    Lincoln & Kelly2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • I have a bucket list and on it is "Stay on the cutest houseboat ever!", and I checked it off by my stay at Dean's houseboat. He has the most prime spot at the marina with the boat at the end of the pier. You wake up to a view of the east side of the lake and St. Mark's, with the blue of the lake making the sky look drab in comparison. The bed is so very comfy and you slowly fall asleep with the lights of the city reflecting off the lake. The houseboat is great for one person or for two small people totally in love. A short uber trip to Capitol Hill and Pike Place (average cost $9) and a short walk to coffee shops and the bike path. I loved my stay on Dean's boat and will always have the most fond memories of my stay at the Cutest Houseboat in Seattle.

    Ophelia2018-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time on the houseboat. The location is fantastic and the boat is charming, clean, and comfortable. Dean was very responsive and nice. Highly recommend.

    Ron2018-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • A very cool houseboat on lake Union with fantastic views of the city. Cozy, but enough room for my brother and I stay comfortably. Dean was very accommodating and communicative.

    Shane2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Dean's houseboat was absolutely adorable. My husband and I stayed for a weekend in Seattle. The gentle lake rocked us to sleep every night. It made us want to buy our own houseboat. We loved the chairs on the roof and enjoying some tea on the deck. We watched the planes take off and land, and there were rowing teams racing by in the morning. I even went out on the canoe for a bit. While the boat was super small, it was plenty of space for the evenings after a long day of touring. Dean emailed us after we booked to make sure we knew that the bed was just a twin. He was a great host all around. 10/10 would stay here again.

    Rachel2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a find! We spent our afternoon sitting on the roof watching sea planes take off and paddle-boarding. Location is world class with a host to match!

Experience living on a fresh-water lake in Downtown Seattle. My husband and I lived on Adagio for two years and fondly remember that time when we hear the James Taylor song, "Something in the Way She Moves." Our marina is a community of friendly and out-going people. Unlike the traditional Airbnb, our sailboat is more like "glamping." (Michaelle is a Super host · Super hosts are experienced, highly rated hosts who are committed to providing great stays for guests.)
Adagio is a classic ocean-going 32ft sailboat, of the sort made famous by the late Robert Pirsig ("Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance") and Walter Cronkite, not to mention the same type of boat that survived in the movie, "The Perfect Storm." A wide berth can be set up for a couple or as two separate beds side-by-side. All usual cooking facilities, including refrigerator. Easy-to-operate electric toilet with heated toilet seat (!!!) and shower. If you've never sailed or would like to sail, we may be able to take you sailing, weather permitting, for an additional fee. Our houseboat, Taj Michaelle, is right behind Adagio, so we are readily available for any questions or concerns for this unique experience.
Easy access to downtown Seattle, Pike Place Market, 'Sleepless in Seattle' houseboat, Theo Chocolate Factory, Space Needle, Seattle Center, Lake Union, MOHAI Museum of History and Industry, EMP, Chihuly Garden and Glass or just sit on the boat and enjoy the view.
  • Een prachtige klipper als slaapplaats in de haven van Westlake Seattle. Michaelle en John zijn erg gastvrij. Ook nog een leuk rondje op het meer gezeild. Bedenk wel dat het een schip is en geen groot huis.

    Henk2018-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing trip and stay on their beautiful boat. I loved the cozy space, it added to the romantic getaway we were looking for. The marina is nice and the neighbors were all very friendly. The hosts were very kind and accommodating and close if anything is needed. The detailed book on the specifics of the boat was nice to have too. I would definitely stay again!

    Stefanie2018-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • This was a magical stay. The view was one of the best my husband and I have ever seen. We felt like we were in a movie! Michaelle was a wonderful and kind host, and everything was super clean and comfortable. We loved all the little crooks and nannies of Adagio! Definitely recommend staying here, you won’t regret it. It’s the perfect escape from the “real world.”

    Monica2018-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • A cozy place to stay in a great location! Michaelle and John were incredibly accommodating with great communication, and Adagio was full of personality. Location was important for me since I had a lot I wanted to do both downtown as well as the Fremont/University areas—With the bus stop right there, this rental made public transportation a snap.

    Marni2018-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • This was an awesome experience. Great hosts and a very cool space!

    Claire2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a cool experience, the boat was so cozy and just a short ride to downtown, Michaelle was a wonderful host and we really enjoyed visiting with the neighbors in the marina.

    Josh2018-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Adagio is a great choice for anyone wanting the “Sleepless in Seattle” style houseboat experience! Michaelle was a great host and had excellent attention to detail. We would definitely recommend this Airbnb!

    Barkley2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Loved it! If you have a sense of adventure and you're willing to trade in a few creature comforts (it's close quarters aboard Adagio, and you need to be able to climb up and down a step ladder to enter and exit the cabin), you will be rewarded with a very unique way to experience Seattle. We fell asleep to Adagio's gentle rocking in the water and the sound of rain falling on the deck above our heads. Great location too - very close to all that Fremont has to offer, including great food (check out Chiso, per Michaelle's recommendation, for really good sushi). Red Star Taco Bar was a fun stop too.

Ever wanted to try the unique experience of living on a boat? Here is your chance stay on a 35 foot yacht called the "Sharon Lee". The boat is located in South Lake Union. You can enjoy the comforts of the inside or go up the stairs on the helm. You can entertain people or just relax in a quiet marina. The boat is docked all times. We have a parking pass for FREE parking! We have 2 single kayaks that you can use anytime. There is a heater in the bedroom and one in the main cabin.
This boat is perfect for 2 people and can accommodate up 2 more kids or another adult. All the amenities of an apartment on the water. The boat is moored off of Westlake Ave, on lake Union, less than a mile from South Lake Union's great shops, bars and restaurants. In the other direction, Fremont (otherwise known as the center of the universe) is a fantastic location for a place to eat, shop and play! And if you want to checkout downtown Seattle it is very close that you can Uber/Lyft or even take a bike sharing bike. Bedroom/stateroom - There is one room located in the front/bow of the boat. There is an additional room w a bed/berth that sleeps two kids or an adult comfortably. Bathroom/head - There is one head located in the front/bow of the boat. It contains a marine toilet (press the black button) and a separate shower. The boat contains an 11 gallon hot water heater, so it's great there should be plenty of water for 2 people to take showers. The head also contains a sink and a large mirror. Heat- We have 2 heaters that should keep the boat pretty warm. There is one the bedroom and one in the main cabin. Living quarters - The main cabin is located towards the aft/rear and is a relatively large space. It has a built in sitting area that can seat 3-4. Kitchen/galley - The galley is located in the main living quarters. There is an electric burner where you can cook as we have pots and pans. There is a microwave, small refrigerator, and a sink. This area contains a ladder to the upper deck. The upper deck has seats all the way around and is a great place to watch the morning sun rise above Eastlake or watch other boats, sailboats, kayaks, paddleboards go by. One unique thing about Lake Union is the Seaplanes taking off or landing on the water. Boat location - The boat is located on a dock which has a few floating homes and other boats on it. The dock is in a very unique place with sailboats, business offices, liveaboard boats close by. The water is almost always calm due to being located in a tucked away marina. Disclaimer - This is a boat not the Four Seasons. This is a comfortable boat but by no means is it a super yacht either. Everything is compressed to fit on a boat. I keep the boat clean and cared for. I don't want to make this boat sound better than it is, although it is pretty awesome! There are ducks that are always swimming in the water usually on the outer boats. I have not had any problem with animals of any kind except maybe a bit of bird poop. But you should be aware of the different things you might experience when staying on any boat. I want you to enjoy your time here as well. Please contact me with any questions .
This is such a prime spot. You are a short walk from the fastest growing spot in Seattle, South Lake Union. It's home to Amazon and many other tech companies along with restaurants, bars, and other amenities. You are about a 20 minute walk to The Space Needle and Seattle Center. You will be less than 5 minutes from Wallingford, University District, the Space Needle and Fremont. Less than 10 minutes to Downtown, both the sports stadiums, Belltown, and Ballard. It's a great location that has a very unique feel, friendly people on the dock and a exciting neighborhood to explore. There is walking/biking path right there so you can walk or bike along the lake. There is a bike sharing company: LimeBike (Lime colored bikes) They all charge about $2/hour They are easy to rent via the app on your phone.

    Steve2018-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • I spent over a week trying to find a boat, house boat or anything on the water for my birthday on Sunday in Lake Union. Minh was a hero and saved the event! He was incredibly quick to respond and detailed with parking instructions, how to access the boat, and all other things to note. The bed was very comfortable and fit me and my boyfriend who is 6’3!! It is very easy to find and more spacious than I expected, we enjoyed watching the stars at night on the rooftop deck at night. There are fans to keep it cool, and a great place to sit and eat. My small group of friends had a blast, and I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Not only is the location great, but Minh is very communicative which is essential when staying in someone else’s home.

It has all the amenities you need and plenty of room with spacious bedrooms as well. The host was helpful & the boat was easy to get to. Super close to the airport, restaurants, museums, shopping, etc. without having to stay downtown.Amazing restaurants just down the streets. Hope to stay longer next time:)

Urban camping at its finest! Rock to sleep in this cozy warm little sailboat. This boat is literally tied to a tree near downtown Seattle. Skybird is a 27' foot Catalina (sailboat) with 2 beds, ideal for singles, but couples can make it work. The sailboat has electricity, water, and heats up quickly with the provided space heater. There's a boat toilet and a regular toilet in marina next to boat. Guests will need to be comfortable stepping onto a small floating dock which moves quite a bit.
This is a unique opportunity to experience the highly sought after rugid live aboard lifestyle in Seattle. Remember, you will be camping, on a boat, however, don't fear the winter weather. I'll even leave the heat on before you arrive. No sleeping bag needed. Sheets and blankets provided.
The marina is in the Eastlake neighborhood, very close to downtown, Capital Hill, and the University District. It's also on a street which has many free unregulated city parking spots. There's a shipyard next door and employees take the parking spots until they leave at 3. Be careful to read the parking signs, because a few of the spots are regulated.
  • Definitely a must if you like adventures! I’d recommend this spot for anyone who doesn’t mind small spaces. It’s cozy and fun. My partner and I got up early and drove to Pike Place, which was only a 7min drive away. Lena does a great job communicating what to expect - it’s camping....on a boat!

    Emma2018-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Interesting and unusual place to stay for a night or two. It felt special and low key. Lena is easy to communicate with, and though we didn’t meet in person, I felt we could have reached out at any time if we’d had questions. Easy to access downtown or the northern areas of Seattle. Recommended for those we want a different type of guesting experience.

    Kina & Gabe2018-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lena's place was ideal for a quick weekend getaway; like many other reviewers mention, it was only about $10 ride via Uber downtown! I really appreciated her efforts and clear communication with us. It was a new experience for my boyfriend and I, but we had a great time and would highly recommend Lena's place for a night or two!

  • Unique stay. If a shower is a concern you can shower at the Green Tortoise Hostel for $6. Good location.

  • I stayed for one night on the Skybird while in town for a concert. It was a nice change of pace and more affordable than most places so close to downtown.

    Dennis2018-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • The boat was fun! Cute little vessel and has space for 2 I would say. It was close to everything and made for an adventurous trip for me and my best friend. Lena had some emergencies to take care of that cause a few hiccups but she was still able to communicate and accomodate. Which was very awesome! Only downsides: As the reviews and posts said the dock can be an...adventure to maneuver. But manageable. And there were a LOT of spiders around the boat and in the sails that trickled their way into the boat which made for an anxiety inducing nights sleep and we were not able to enjoy sitting on the boat. We both are arachnophobia driven humans so we just did our best to avoid them and put the ones that got in the boat outside and try to seal up best we could. Overall we would totally stay again and it was fun!

    Alyssa2018-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • It was a clean little gem!

    Kent2018-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • The boat was a fun place to stay. We opened the top up and slept under the sky. That being said, the working harbor was loud this morning. Overall, a lot of fun!

Meridian 391 Sedan Bridge Yacht. This 40Ft yacht is made for entertaining and cruising the waters with dramatic views out every window. This boat is located on Lake Union with no direct views of the city or the lake. The yacht is inside a barn in the marina. This allows for more privacy and out of the weather. Free parking and close to the city center. The Yacht is capable of being moved to any guest moorage in seattle and surrounding areas for the fee of the guest moorage plus boat costs.
Perfect for 2 couples or family looking for a new experience. The main salon has a bar, and a wrap around couch. Good sized galley with microwave and convection oven combination, mini fridge with full height freezer. The climate control system is 2 separate heat/ac units. One for the salon and a separate one for the forward cabin and second birth. Separate head and shower compartments.
  • Great set up, it's literally a boat moored in an enclosed marina. Very private, free parking and a nice bar within walking distance. Jason was great and gave us a couple ideas where to go. I'll be coming back next time I'm in Seattle for sure.

  • I had a great time renting Jason's boat for a conference I recently attended near Lake Union. I ended up bringing clients back and hiring Jason to take us out on a sunset sail both nights- it was pretty epic and my clients LOVED it. It was a great way to mix it up with my usual Seattle accommodations. Good to know: - The boat is docked in an enclosed area which leads to less waves, but also no views. - Doesn't have typical hotel amenities so bring your own hairdryer, iron, etc. if you'll require them (there were towels though). Overall a great place to stay!

    Kristen2017-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful experience. The yacht is clean and comfortable. There are TV and microwave etc inside making it very convenient just like a hotel. Captain Jason is so nice and kind. Before I arrived, I asked a lot of questions. Jason replied pretty fast and being very helpful. He took us out and cruise around Washington Lake. We enjoyed it. My friend left her glasses on the yacht when we left. Since I live not far away, Jason found it and bring it to me which is super nice.

    Boyang2018-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • The boat was beautiful, clean and the enclosed fly bridge and back desk kept things warmer even on a rainy weekend. It was comfortable and had a great sound system. We didn't miss extensive cooking utensils/pots because we went out to awesome local restaurants. Meeting Jason at a guest moorage so we could see the sights/other boats worked out really well.

  • Miguel's boat is such a breath of fresh air in the heart of Seattle. It is on a wonderful bike / walking path that goes around Lake Union. The trail is a wonderful way to take a longish walk to Freemont for some fun coffee, food and shopping. The path passes watery neighborhoods of wonderful houseboats. A great place.

  • Jesse made the process of renting from him really smooth and easy. He gave us a brief tour of how things work on the boat and otherwise just told us to have a great time. The yacht was a beautiful vintage vessel that Jesse has made some neat restorations to, including an expanded kitchenette and sitting area. Otherwise, about 150 yards from the yacht was also a really fun little bar that we walked to.

    Eric2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Jesse's yacht is pretty cool. We felt very safe in the marina and all the boat owners were quiet, but friendly. The yacht does accommodate 2 couples; however, there is only 1 room with a bed, a head and a sink. The other is a space with two beds that are short, fine for us, but not for someone over 6 ft. The space has a head, but no sink and does not have a door, so no real privacy. Also, when we went, there were no curtains on any of the windows which meant no way to keep light out. Jesse is prompt with responses to questions, he tries to be accommodating and he is dependable. I would definitely stay with him again if curtains were installed and it was just my husband and me.

    Kelly2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is a super cute vintage boat located in a charming quiet marina! It is everything you would expect of an older yacht, and it's clear Jesse has put a ton of effort into her character. Jesse is an excellent host and made extra efforts to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we could possibly need.

  • We were very pleased with our greeting aboard The Pearl. Landon thoroughly gave us all the information we needed to know on how to make the best stay. He even welcomed us with a bottle of wine to enjoy on the top deck of his boat. We had an amazing stay, thanks so much Landon! It was a unique experience, a lot of surprising amenities and we loved it! Would definitely book again.

  • Landons house boat is an amazing place to stay if you’re looking for something a little bit different but in a very good way! I spent my birthday there and I had an amazing time, Landon was super informative about his boat which was also very helpful. The boat and the scenery made for some amazing pictures as well. Definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a place to stay around Seattle!

  • We loved our stay at Landon’s place. Landon was great at showing us around and making recommendations to the area. He was also quick to respond when we had questions and we loved the wine he left for us! Definitely recommend it if you are looking for a fun boat life adventure!

  • This boat is a great place to stay if you’re looking for a unique getaway! The boat is an adventure in itself and in a great location for exploring Seattle!

    Katie2018-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing location. The first night we grilled steak on the deck and watched the yachts and fishing boats return to the docks. The boat is at the very end of the dock so we had the perfect view! We rented the Lime electric bikes and drove all around!

    Britt2018-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • A fun place to spend the night. Great main level living spaces and sitting up top is a lot of fun. The bedroom is downstairs and cozy (be aware ceiling down stairs is low but we were fine with it). The bathroom is small (think RV bathroom) but has toilet, sink, shower. Landon is a great host and greats you at the dock to show you the boat.

  • Such a special way to spend the night in Seattle! Good parking options, lovely slot at the end of the pier, gentle rocking motions... What's not to love! Also one of the more adventurous showers of my life ;)

  • Where do I start? Immediately after checking in, I contacted host to let her know the upstairs bathroom was not working and was backed up with some kind of waste water that was creating a bad smell throughout the whole second floor. Host thanked me for letting her know and then did nothing about it. We decided not to make a big deal of it and turned on the overhead fan and sealed up the door crack with sheets to keep the smell from spreading throughout the second floor where my kids and I would be sleeping that night. Then by the end of that first day we noticed the downstairs toilet was leaking a lot of water from the foot pedal used to flush it. Water that was possibly also waste, was now leaking and spreading throughout the bathroom floor. So now we start panicking because we have two adults and two small children who can not go three days without ANY bathrooms. I contact host who again thanks me for letting her know and apologizes for the inconvenience. We contact her again to press for a handyman to fix at least one of the bathrooms and she says she'll look into it. By the next day we still do not hear from her and contact her again. She keeps emailing back that she thanks us for our inquiry and she'd look into it and contact us shortly. And on and on like this all of the second day. We try to find another place but can not find any availability we can afford last minute on July4th holiday. We are forced to place a towel under the leak and wear our shoes and carry our kids in and out to use the downstairs bathroom. In addition to no functioning toilets: -Every surface from floor to windows and steps to the second floor are covered in thick dust. Cobwebs in a lot of places. Place had not appeared to have been cleaned for quite some time if ever, yet we were charged over $100 cleaning fee. -Most pillow covers were badly stained. New or old stains I'm not sure. -Inside fridge was also filthy. Looks like food was removed but shelves were never cleaned so all the sticky food residue and stains were still very much present. -No parking. Their idea of "free parking" is if you can manage to not get a ticket or towed from the parking lot of the business next door or you can drive along the streets in the city and hope to find street parking somehow (not anywhere near the rental though). -No Wifi though they say they have it. Once you've booked and day of check in, they email to tell you to use your own hotspot. -No TV or any electronics. They didn't advertise otherwise, just an fyi in case that matters to any future renters. -There was a very real fear that maybe the owner of the rental was not...

  • This rental overdelivered - amazing views, from the water level window in the aft bedroom to cool evenings laying on the top deck watching boats glide across Lake Union's moon dappled waters. Well-appointed, surprisingly spacious yacht with a number of unique features - stellar custom woodwork - as well as all the basics you'd need: full kitchen (including a Keurig), nice tv, kayaks, and even a captain's hat for the requisite selfies! Kirk had a lot of good suggestions for the area, including a heads up about the fun weekly Duck Dodge sailboat races, as well as a few nearby restaurants that I wasn't aware of despite having lived in Seattle in the past year. Kayaking to El Chupacabra for some sunset margaritas and tacos was a highlight!

    Neil2016-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Kirk is the best host! He took us around the boat, and was available through phone whenever we have any questions. And the boat's view is wonderful!

  • Kirk was great, super helpful. The listing was more than accurate and exceeded our expectations

    Lindsey2015-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Kirk's yacht and we LOVEd it! The scenery at night was absolutely beautiful and we fully enjoyed the moment drinking wine. His yacht has 2 nice queen-size beds and the tv. The shower room is a little bit small and the toilet stuck at last but we still like his yacht. Such a wonderful experience staying at a yacht :)

  • We were a party of 2 couples wanting somewhere relaxing to spend 4 days before we returned home to Western Australia after a busy 5 weeks touring Alaska and Canada. I will admit when we booked this in Australia we thought it was a bit pricey but having now been to this area and stayed in very different accommodations we have honestly changed that opinion. The yacht exceeded our expectations and in comparison to the local market great value. The set up is great with a large central entertaining space and two roomy bedrooms with en suites, not quite as roomy but functional. Kirk was a great host and facilitated our request for an early check in by taking time off from work to meet us and go through everything in board, gave some great recommendations for local eateries which we tried and enjoyed and also to hire a boat to discover the lake which we also did. The back deck is the best place for enjoying a glass of whatever takes your fancy and watching the passing traffic on the lake or the lights of Seattle when the sun goes down, Kirk also provided us with a generous welcome pack which we really appreciated because one piece of advice would be that if you don't have a vehicle, as we didn't, the nearest reasonable supermarket for provisions is a fair distance so shop before you arrive. We did have one issue with the facilities but Kirk was quick to get on to it and arrange to get it fixed. This was a fabulously different way to end our amazing Alaska/Canada adventure and did just what we wanted - gave us a relaxing time. Would highly recommend Lantis for anyone wanting a relaxing peaceful and very different break.

    Pam2015-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Had a fantastic time staying on the yacht. Location was very good and many Seattle attractions were within walking distance as were a few nice restaurants. Kirk had the fridge stocked with some beers, pop and a snack basket when we arrived. His neighbor on the house boat was super helpful and invited us over for hamburgers on the grill after the Lake Union Duck Dodge on Tuesday night. The sheets on the bed were outstanding! We all said that was the best we had slept on our vacation so far! Would definately stay again.

    Laura2015-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Kirk was a wonderful host and the yacht is even better than we imagined. Excellent communication and spectacular views!

    Brian2015-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Four of us spent 6 nights on Kirk's yacht & had a great experience. We sat on the back of the boat & absorbed the beauty of the lake the entire week. Watching Seaplanes take off & land all day, boats passing by, rowing teams from nearby universities, people kayaking & on paddle boards--it was all so much to take in & so much to enjoy. We enjoyed coffee & breakfast watching the sunrise come up over the hill & spill onto the lake. We went to a nearby market & ate nearly all of our meals all week on the boat, using the oven, toaster, microwave, & electric frying pan. Evenings were wonderful sitting with a glass of wine & enjoying the beauty of the downtown city lights. It was great to have wifi on the boat, too, because I had a small amount of work that had to be attended to via my laptop. The 2 showers on the boat were perfect, with plenty of very hot water & great water pressure. This was our very first AirBnb experience & it worked flawlessly. We were most impressed & appreciative of Kirk. He communicated via text wonderfully, was attentive, responsive, & always within reach. We were thankful that he even went the "extra mile" & went to purchase 2 kayaks for the boat & our enjoyment! We were out & around the city one afternoon & returned to the boat to this fantastic surprise. Thank you, Kirk, for being such a great host, and thank you AirBnb for pointing us toward such a fun, unique, and "out-of-the-box" experience that left us with memories we will long enjoy. We hope to use Kirk's yacht again someday.

UNIQUE ON WATER EXPERIENCE!!! Perfect for LONG TERM! Lovely for ONE or a Couple! Walking and Bike Trail, Bus to Local Events & Sights! Near Fremont, South Lake Union, UW and all the Great Restaurants!
The Houseboat Experience is the ultimate in Seattle Experiences! Sleeping on the Water - IS THE BEST SLEEP! Miss Peaches has a great open space with many amenities. The LOFT: has a Double bed and (Portable toilet in the loft), accessible by Ladder. The Main Level has a bathroom with Marine Toilet, shower and hand sink. There is a dock bathroom and Laundry too.
I LOVE living on the water and Houseboat Living, it is in my nature! The folks you meet on the water are friendly and helpful. Lake Union is unique in that is supports sea planes departing to Lake Washington, Vancouver BC and the San Juan Islands, just a 45 minute flight away - they depart regularly and you will see them; Lake Union is an International Airport in fact. You will see sculls rowing by in the early hours and hear the crew boats coaching them. The sights and Sounds of the Water Life are intriguing, from the Horn blasts to open the draw bridge nearby to the racing boat crews shouting at one another at the Tuesday Night DUCK DODGE RACES in the Summer. Fremont(The Center of the Universe), is a short walk across the bridge.
  • Lynne personally visited the boat to show how everything works, and had already set up everything including some food to eat. I had a great time staying on the boat! While you have to set a bit of expectation regarding the concept of staying on a boat (i.e. the plumbing's a bit different), it's a great, unique experience.

    Paul2014-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lynne was wonderful about meeting me at boat, showing me the ins and outs of living on the water, and enjoying my stay. She also left some food for breakfast in the morning. Overall, it was a lovely stay.

    Jared2014-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lynne made me feel exceedingly welcome and comfortable at Miss Peaches! Her well-written instructions were super helpful (I'd never used a toilet on a boat before!) and her place is simply lovely. I feel so lucky to have enjoyed a few days on this very beautiful and serene houseboat, and I would gladly return! Lynne, thank you for being such a great and communicative host! I hope to return to Miss Peaches one day. :)

    Katie2015-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • I loved it! Beautiful home and a great host. Would definitely stay again.

    Jeff2015-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely time at miss peaches! Lynne was great. Very responsive to any questions. Location is great. Kids loved watching the bridge open. The boat is cozy. It worked well for me and my two kids. They had a bit of a hard time with the rocking, especially when bigger ships went by. But it was overall a great experience! Absolutely recommend!

    Nomi2015-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lynne was a wonderful host. The boat was perfect. I'd leave it at that, but that's probably not helpful for potential guests. The houseboat was tidy, cozy and the most fascinating place I've stayed to date. We sat on the upper deck edge with beers and snacks one night, just watching ships come and go through the Fremont Bridge. The location is perfect too. There are bus lines, but we took a short $10 cab downtown instead. Fremont is just across the bridge and an easy walk. I honestly can't imagine a better way to experience Seattle in a unique way. Thanks to Lynne, we were able to check in a bit early and see the sites sooner. She also checked in with us via text a few times, which I always appreciate. Thanks, Lynne!

    Deborah2014-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very relaxing stay on Miss Peaches! It is relatively quiet, but occasionally the bridge horn will blow quite early, however, it just adds to the ambiance. We will definitely stay there again when we are in the area!

    Tess2015-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • My stay on the Miss Peaches houseboat was a lovely experience. It is charming, comfortable and very easy to access from public transit. It had all the conveniences I was looking for and felt like my own little retreat in the midst of the city. She is a tiny little thing, but would be plenty of space for a couple. The boat does rock when some of the larger ships go by, which wasn't a problem for me but could be for someone who suffers from motion sickness. That said it was very minimal and infrequent. Stay here if you are looking for fond memories and rejuvenating rest.

M/Y Linmar is a historic and fully-restored classic wooden motor yacht, with teak exterior and genuine mahogany interior. Eight (8) guests sleep comfortably in four (4) double-occupancy staterooms (3 queen bedrooms and 1 twin bunk room). Onboard are 2.5 bathrooms, a modern galley/kitchen, two dining areas, and a comfortable main salon. Linmar's close proximity to Seattle attractions make it a unique and memorable location for your next stay!
Linmar is a historic luxury yacht offering single- and multi-day charters around Seattle and throughout the Puget Sound. While not otherwise engaged in private charter, Linmar functions dockside as an Airbnb. Linmar suffered an unfortunate fire in 2005, leaving her a charred and blackened mess. She has since been gutted and rebuilt from stem to stern, complete with new systems, an updated layout, and modern touches throughout. She still holds the look and feel of an 80 year old classic, but with new construction that allows our guests to relax in comfort.
The Eastlake neighborhood is just 2.5 miles from downtown Seattle and is a short walk to Fremont, Wallingford, Capitol Hill, and the University District.
  • Absolutely amazing experience. Couldn't have picked a cooler place to stay for the long weekend.

    Remy2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely incredible historic boat, fantastic host! Our family had an amazing few days & would highly recommend taking the boat out on the water. Fun, unique experience.

  • AMAZING - we had such a great time. Kuhrt & Crew were so friendly and helpful. This was truly a magical adventure that took us back to the 1930's with all the modern amenities of todays modern times.

    Stephen2017-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had five people on the Linmar for a conference. It was spacious, clean, and only a 10-minute ride downtown. It was nice to come back after a day’s worth of sessions to the ship rather than a hotel room. Highly recommend this property for business travel or vacation.

    Michael2018-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • We made a last minute booking and the host was very accommodating. The yacht had great views of boats of all types passing by and we enjoyed the sunset from the back deck. Cute neighborhoods within walking distance nearby. We walked to a nearby corner store with an impressive selection of wine to enjoy. We're not boat people so this was so much fun and very easy.

    Evan2016-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • My family of 4 (me, wife, 2 daughters age 11,13) came up from Oregon and had my parents (70's) come in from the east coast for a week on the Linmar. The boat was wonderful, and certainly a more memorable experience than staying in a hotel. Prior to the trip, my wife was a bit apprehensive as she's never slept on a boat, but she absolutely loved it. On arrival, we noticed fresh flowers throughout, bottled water and snacks in the cabins. Victor and Kuhrt were both on-hand to provide an overview of the basic operations (only real thing is the toilets work a little different than house toilets). We did arrange for a short cruise around Lake Union and Lake Washington, which was a nice way to spend a few hours exploring the area from the water. My kids really enjoyed sitting on the aft deck and watching the boats and seaplanes while playing boardgames. It is definitely a unique, unforgettable experience! There was dining within easy walking distance, and reasonable parking right at the boat. The dock is close to I-5 bridge, so there is some road noise, but inside the boat you don't notice it much at all. Access to public transportation is close by, and easy access to I-5 for moving around the area (Seattle traffic willing).

    Vaughan2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • There's clearly nothing more awesome when staying in Seattle than living on a boat for a couple days and this didn't disappoint. The interior feels updated and working out of the living room while watching boats drive by is a great way to spend the day. The only thing I'd caution against here is the low ceilings ... it's an older yacht, so if you're around 6'3" or greater, it could be uncomfortable. All in all an amazing trip.

    Mike2016-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay on the Linmar was nothing short of a privilege. This beautiful vessel has been brought back to life after a fire with love and extraordinary effort. We loved it so much we were unable to leave. Instead of meeting family for a gourmet dinner out, we cancelled our reservations and had pizza delivered in. It was a night we will remember forever. The Linmar is a truly special experience.

  • Vivre sur l'eau est un moment assez unique. Beaucoup d'animaux sur l'eau ou dans les airs.

  • This was an awesome place to get away from the city hustle and bustle!

    Atty2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Had a blast staying at the houseboat, everything was gorgeous and the amenities were fantastic. The harbor is a bit of a hike from the ferry dock and public transportation is hit or miss so be prepared to wait a while for a bus or bring a car. Otherwise it’s a great place to relax and enjoy the views!

    Katie2018-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Steven & Scotty were awesome. Quick to respond and very friendly. Was a great place if you’re looking for peace & quiet. We wanted something a lil different and this was it. Close to shops and food. Would recommend this place and already have.

    Laura2018-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding property in a fabulous location! Very clean, very comfortable and secure. We highly recommend this unique property on Vashon Island. We were warmly welcomed to Quartermaster Harbor by Scott and Steven, and were impressed with everything about the property. The location is secure, with gated access, the houseboat is nicely appointed and has everything you'll need. The best part was being right on the harbor and enjoying sitting out on the deck and enjoying being right on the water, among the boats, and the scenery. It's quiet, comfortable, and beautiful. We commented over and over about how a typical resort hotel room simply can't compare with an experience like this. We came to Vashon Island to attend an event, and wish we could have spent more time relaxing in this idyllic spot in the houseboat!

    Diane2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great, "out on the water" location! This is a wonderful opportunity to experience a 'live aboard lifestyle' without the "cramped quarters" experience.. And the additional accessibility by water is a great amenity. The only drawback is the lack of any railing to prevent an "accidental" swim!

    Terry2017-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • What a great time we had on Steven's houseboat! The premises were very clean, and the location couldn't be better.

    Stephen2017-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • The houseboat is right at the marina and surrounded by beautiful scenery. We found it to be very spacious and relaxing. The bed is very comfortable and so are the couch and the chair. We commuted to work from here and found the drive to and from the ferry to be straightforward and enjoyable. Sitting outside on the dock or at the table was a nice way to unwind at the end of the day. We planned to tie up next to the houseboat with our Ranger Tug, but due to low tides were unable. Our host made a slip available to us, but this might be something you want to double check if you plan to tie up next to the house boat. All in all, we had a great time & would do it again.

  • I had a wonderful time staying with Glen and Rose. They were able to a accommodate my early arrival and met me in a precise timely fashion. They have great communication skills. They gave me a comprehensive review of the facilities and even joined me for a trip downtown on a mini tour. Glen and Rose were very welcoming and helped make my stay in Seattle easy, warm and memorable. Glen and Rose are excellent hosts and I would not hesitate to stay with them again. I heartily enjoyed my stay on the Wild Thing. It is not a newer boat but I found it comfortable and charming. I enjoyed coffee in the morning and night caps on the upper deck. The interior was exceptionally clean and the newer carpet made me very comfortable. The marina is centrally located, with great bus access and a short walk to the SLU Trolley. I was comfortable walking to and from both Fremont and Downtown at all hours. I rented a bicycle and kept it on board.

    Andrew2012-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Rose and Glen's houseboat was a great place to stay for a few days while in Seattle. Glen very kindly waited up for my late arrival and brought me to the boat slip to show me how a few things worked. We arranged to meet again in the morning for a daylight tour just to make sure I had everything I needed. The boat was perfect for my stay - and a real treat to be on the water! The bed was super comfortable and cozy, it was nice to have a light breeze off the water cool the place in the evening. I was able to have a friend over to have dinner on the patio on the top deck of the boat. I recommend their place for anyone excited about boat living! A perfect stay!

    Kendall2017-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely houseboat suitable for two people. Very good location with easy access to busstop. Seattle Center is also within a reasonable walking distance and the path along the lake is beautiful. The area felt safe and the hosts were great people. Would definitly recommend staying at The Wild Thing as long as boats are your thing or you want to try something different. Closeby you have the possibility to rent paddleboards or kayakks. The boat comes with a full-size stove and fridge which makes cooking very easy! It also comes with great dining-areas on top of the boat and it almost feels like you're at a restaurant. Glenn and Rose has really made the houseboat feel like a second home. Their hospitality, humour and kindness made it so easy for us to relax and enjoy our stay. Thank you Rose Mary and Glenn!

    Trude2017-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful and relaxing time on the houseboat for our honeymoon! The place was clean and comfortable, in a charming little houseboat neighborhood on Lake Union. Would recommend this to anyone!

    Katie2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in the house boat -- an unique experience for an affordable price. The deck is great for breakfast an lunch, anytime when the sun is out... and for peaceful morning. The China Harbor restaurant is loud until 10 PM and quiet after that. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to live in a houseboat, not a yacht. The hosts are friendly, very honest and truthful on the description of their place. Thank you Rose and Glen.

    Betty2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Rose and Glen were very hospitable, and we enjoyed our stay on their houseboat. It was a nice in-town retreat while our floors were being refinished, and fun to experience "life-on-the-water" for a week. Thanks so much!

    Mead2012-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time on Rose and Glen's houseboat. Great communication and clear directions on how to operate on a boat. Wonderful location, very clean, relaxing and accommodating. I highly recommend starting here.

    Tara2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Rose and Glenn's houseboat is a wonderfully relaxing escape in the middle of the city. Perfect for the solo traveler or a couple wanting something a little different. I thoroughly enjoyed relaxing on the deck watching the boats and seaplanes go by. It was a great way to cap off my evenings while in Seattle on business. Do realize you are in a marina in a houseboat community. It's not for everyone, but if you enjoy new experiences and getting a taste for a different side of the city, it's a fantastic option. Rose and Glenn's hospitality made me feel incredibly welcomed and at home on their boat.

My place is located in South Lake Union in Seattle. You’ll love my place because of the coziness, the views, and the location. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and big groups. Free and AMPLE parking. *****LOCATION UPDATE**** I am no longer at the address provided on this listing. • Scott was great at communicating, and the space was exactly as described in the posting. Easy to walk to bus lines and to Pike Place. Very quiet and safe, and I slept on a very comfortable mattress. Would recommend Scott's spot to anyone!

  • We didn't know what to expect from staying on a boat and while generally the stay was good, I wouldn't recommend it for families. After the excitement wore off, the reality of the limited space coupled with other people being very close to you and being concerned that we would make too much noise made it for a less than ideal stay. perfect for a young couple or solo traveler not needing many amenities. the location however was excellent. Scott was quick to respond and communicate with us.

    Mike2017-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay on Scott's boat. It was just as described in the listing and he was available for questions at any time. Thanks again!

    Sara2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Scott was great to work with and incredibly hospitable. I was way behind in booking our stay but he was diligent in making sure I knew exactly what to expect. When we had one more (last minute addition) than would comfortably fit in the boat he was up front about it and flexible in letting us stay. The location of the marina was no more than 15 minutes from everywhere we wanted to visit. There are some great places to eat near Scott's place and the views are incredible. The only head's up I'd give is that if you are susceptible to motion sickness then you may feel it on the yacht. We discovered the bath house at the marina too which helped us shower and use bathrooms at the same time and made the stay super convenient. We had such a great time. It was an adventure. I'm appreciate for Scott's hospitality and accessibility.

    Eric2017-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Scott was absolutely fantastic! I was in Seattle because my sister had been life flighted up from Walla Walla and it was quite possibly one of the most stressful weeks of my life. My brother in law and I needed a place to stay that included parking and room for occasional extra guests as family and friends were coming up to see my sister as their work schedule permitted and we were given notice at the last minute. On top of that her prognosis kept changing and we weren't sure when we would be going back home. Scott was wonderful about all the changes and extra guests and made sure we didn't have to find new lodging until we were able to go home. On top of his amazing hosting his yacht was beautiful and the only breathe of peace and quiet we had away from the hospital. We were able to sleep well and enjoy the amazing views and life on Lake Union. Next time any of us are in Seattle we all plan to book with Scott and only Scott!

  • I could write so much about how good our experience with Kris, her boat, and the area was. Kris was so warm and welcoming, and in talking to her it was easy to see that she doesn't just rent out her boat for money. It seemed more like she wanted to share her boat with people. It's an amazing boat. It's really so much more in person than what you can see in pictures. Its in an excellent location in the marina for a picture perfect view of the area. The marina is perfect for taking a romantic stroll in the evening. My wife and I danced together for the first time ever by candle light on the boat. There were many candles and oil lamps on the boat. The boat is in excellent condition and well maintained. The decorations and furnishings are abundant and in very good taste. It was such a wonderful stay, my wife and I can't wait to return. Thank you Kris!

    Joe2014-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Kris was absolutely wonderful! It was my first Airbnb experience and I couldn't believe how smoothly it went. She was very responsive through text message which was wonderful. The boat was just as adorable as shown in the photos. It is perfect for a romantic get away or even just a relaxing place to unwind. She recommend wonderful restaurants to eat at and we simply felt at home. I have no doubt that we'll be coming back!

    Caitlyn2015-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Kris was a great hostess and the boat was very comfortable. It was located in a perfect location. We were able to walk to the ferries and restaurants. A great time. Thank you Kris for sharing your boat.

    Paul2017-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Boat is moored in a great location at the end of the pier. It is an open design and a great wooden boat. It was chilly and rainy out, but it was dry and cozy inside. Love the sound of the rain on the roof.

    Karen2017-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Leave everything behind - Kris's boat will help you disconnect from tech and reconnect with the natural world. There's no tv here, but there are some great books to curl up with and so much nature to watch! As fellow boat owners, we can positively say that Kris's boat is luxury on the water, especially for its size. Make sure to use the roll away heater, it does get chilly at night (at least for us San Diego folks) As for access, the marina is a few minutes walk to the ferry terminal with easy access to Seattle (it's free to get to Seattle on the big ferry, not free to return though) and if you know Seattle public transportation, you can use your Orca card for the fast ferry to Seattle. There are buses you can take to get to Bremerton shopping areas as well. A word of caution, if you get easily motion sick, consider using something to help mitigate that. The boat does move and there is enough traffic passing the marina to really rock the boat (it won't throw you out of bed, but it can be disconcerting) at times.

    Jennifer2018-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Kris was an incredible host. She guided us to parking and helped us carry our bags to the boat. Unique, charming, and memorable experience.

    Cameron2016-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • The weekend on 'Feel the Pulse' was wonderful. The space was cozy, comfortable and private. The weather was crazy windy and stormy. We thought we'd be rocking and holding on for our dear lives, but Kris made sure the boat was secure before she left us. The weather enhanced the mood for a romantic getaway, where all you want to do is cozy down in a comfortable bed and cabin for a few days. The boat is at the end of the dock, so there is not much traffic and the view was amazing. Thank you, Kris, for sharing.

  • This is an amazing boat and way better than a hotel! The transom view is spectacular —- you could spend all day sitting and drinking your favorite beverage of choice...

  • Beautiful boat, delicious breakfast, peaceful boat cruise and wonderful people!! Highly recommend for anyone especially if you are a boater, can't wait to go back!

    Daniel2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • It was so nice to get away from the hustle of the city. It was very relaxing and peaceful. Christy was a very accommodating host, providing snacks and breakfast! The neighbors at the marina were very pleasant too. We ate dinner in Bremerton- a short drive away but there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance.

    Sabrina2018-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay aboard, at Christy and Alan's boat! Very accommodating and gracious hosts. Beautiful views of Port Orchard and The Sound. Comfortable quarters. Lovely breakfast. Recommend!

Fremont neighborhood is one of the best in all Seattle for nightlife and restaurants but it's the location that truly can't be beat. Walk across the beautiful and historic Fremont bridge for dinner or a drink, or take a stroll along the beautiful canal trail leading down into downtown Ballard and Magnolia.
  • Everything as described. But make sure you know what staying on the boat entails. Our party of 4 agrees that boat is fun, but we should've stayed just a few nights there, not the whole trip. Location is great! Breakfast, bars and grocery story are walkable.

    Max2018-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic stay!

    Elizabeth2018-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing. The pictures do not do it justice. It has a once in a lifetime view and the location cannot be beat. It was well stocked and the owner Eric was friendly and helpful. I stayed here for a week long work trip and almost didn’t go into work because the weather was beautiful and I wanted to stay on the boat.

    Steve2018-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is Seattle at its best! Fantastic views from the boat and it was just a short walk across the bridge to the nightclub and restaurant district. The boat is very spacious and has beautiful woodwork, feels more like a house than a boat. We only used the one bedroom but we each had our own bathroom, which my wife very much appreciated. Although we did not use the washer and dryer but could see how that would be handy. The boat had everything we needed. The captain showed us how everything worked including the air conditioning. He said just call if we needed anything and he is only 5 min away. The full size refrigerator/freezer was awesome as well. We liked getting ice out of the door like at home, made it easy making drinks to enjoy the views on the roof deck! We will definitely stay here again.

    KonaDave2018-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! We had such an unbelievable experience at this gem in Seattle. We are locals but I think we still uncovered something new about Seattle through this staycation! Can’t say enough good things about the space and the host!

    Emily2018-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous time had on the boat. Would def. stay again. Erik the captain was an amazing host and helped make the trip spectacular.

    Audry2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Cannot recommend this listing enough. Ended up booking this as a last minute staycation when my girlfriend came into town and feel like I discovered the hidden gem of Seattle! Like all boats space is at a premium, but this felt much more spacious than others that I’ve been on. The amenities like the A/C, full size fridge and sea-hammock were incredible and the bed was much more comfortable than I expected. It also has an incredible view and perfect location for being on foot - a 3 minute walk into the heart of Fremont and unreal view of the two iconic bridges and Lake Union. And special thanks to Ryan and Captain Erik for his walkthrough, which made me feel much more comfortable for my first overnight stay on a boat!

    J P2018-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, what an incredible experience! I wasn’t sure what to expect as this was my first time staying overnight on a boat but Ryan and his captain made this an experience to remember. The views of Fremont and Aurora bridge are just stunning, the location is central to everything and the boat has all the amenities you could need (seriously the A/C was a LIFESAVER). Highly, highly recommended, will definitely stay here again!

We have found that most of our guests through Airbnb have really loved it and have enjoyed the experience of staying on a house boat and enjoyed staying on the water and a few have absolutely hated it. Please think if you have the mind set to spend time on a boat and enjoy the great things and accept the quarks of a boat. We do have a strict cancellation policy. .
    Very friendly but private community.
  • Rose and Glen are terrific hosts, quick to share local knowledge and local connections. The location is truly Seattle chic with the yachties touch. Great views are everywhere you bother to look. Local cuisine is easily accessible and certainly worth a try. The accommodations are clean and cozy, just like it says on the label. No complaints.

    Daniel2017-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I loved staying on the Pura Vida! Glen met me for check in and explained everything very thoroughly, and Rose even messaged me after check out to let me know that we had left a few items behind. I would recommend their boat for anyone looking for a unique experience, and we will definitely be booking again in the future for any special occasions! Rose and Glen are both such warm, lovely people and we feel honored to have stayed in one of their homes.

    Dylan2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • The houseboat is walkable to downtown Seattle or very close to the bus stop. Location was good with a sense of security and respectful neighbors. You can relax on the top deck or grill out and enjoy the Lakeview. Overall we were very satisfied with this place as a home base on our trip to Seattle. Hosts were great, they offered suggestions and gave directions of places to go see and eat. They were close in proximity too if you needed anything.

    Jill2018-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Best place to stay. Glen and Rose were really friendly and quick response. Excellent location and "la pura vida" was the perfect place to stay. Thanks guys will come back and stay definitely at your place

    Fernando2018-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I stayed on the Pura Vida in early August for three nights and had a wonderful time. I’d recommend this boat for anyone that wants to live the house boat life! Glen and Rose were so nice and made the checkin process a breeze.

    John2018-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Pura Vida is centrally located for great access for exploring. The accommodation was clean and hosts, Rose and Glen, were accommodating and helpful.

    Tracy2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Rose and Glen provided me with a fantastic experience being able to live the boat life for a few days. The house boat was clean and had everything you need to live comfortably and offered fantastic views of lake union. Their house boat made my Seattle experience more unique, highly recommend!

    Paul2018-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Rose and Glen's boat is the more fun and interesting Airbnb I have ever stayed in! My friend and I loved our stay on the dock. The boat house itself is lovely, decorated on the outside with plants and a plastic flamingo and on the inside with all the quaint comforts of nautical life that you would expect. The bathroom is approximately the size of one you would be given for regular lodging on a cruise ship - enough space for only one person at a time, but not unduly uncomfortable. Rose and Glen live on another boat in the same docks, and were readily available to help had we run into any problems. I highly recommend their listing, especially to anyone who would like to go kayaking on Lake Union during their visit to Seattle! While Rose and Glen don't have their own kayak, there is a kayak and paddleboard shop less than a 5-minute walk from the docks. It was a great way to see all the lovely houseboats that line the lake!

The Cabin is a well-appointed, casual and comfortable houseboat located near everything Seattle has to offer. She has a spacious open concept with a 1-bedroom loft and two view decks. Located on Lake Union in a true urban oasis surrounded by nature. She's adjacent to Gasworks Park. A Big Green Egg and propane grill are available on the back deck, too. A week's stay at the Cabin will be enough time to get oriented, settle in and truly unwind. Be warned though, you may never want to leave!
Amenities: Fully furnished with well-equipped kitchen, 3/4 bath (with shower), only steps to onsite laundry. The covered back deck has a Big Green Egg and propane grill for gourmet outdoor cooking. One off-street parking permit. Burke-Gillman trail is across the street for biking and walking. High-speed wireless network. Basic cable. Well-behaved quiet dogs welcome upon approval.
Gasworks Park Marina, where The Cabin is moored, is a highly-desired quiet small 70-slip houseboat community with coded gate access. The marina connects to beautiful Gasworks Park where dogs can be conveniently walked and great for human strolls, too. The Cabin sits on Waterway 19 across from Lake Union's longest stretch of natural shoreline with unobstructed views of beautiful downtown Seattle.
  • Wonderful place, really enjoyed my stay!

    Samantha2018-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • We would recommend this to anyone looking for a tranquil space to relax and discover a hidden gem, full of activities & new experiences. Shelli and Riley were excellent hosts, both accommodating and informative about the neighborhood and the houseboat. We will absolutely return again. Wish we could have stayed longer.

    Spencer2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • What a great spot! We actually stayed here with our dogs while our house was having some work done. Such a peaceful, positive, cozy spot to take a load off. The location and views can't be beat and the houseboat lifestyle is so laid back and friendly. Really happy with our choice and would highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique and easy place to come and go. Awesome value, great check in and communication throughout. We really appreciated the coffee and bagels! Thank you for hosting us!

    Emily2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very lovely getaway place and the host are amazing you'll love it

    Jasper2017-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing view at an amazing location! Watch the ducks feed every morning, and you may even get a visit from Buddy, the marina's favorite duck. (Yes, she accepts food donations). We enjoyed taking our dogs for walks on the Burke Gilman trail and Gasworks Park, and sitting down to dinner at home, and especially appreciated the dishwasher, a real luxury on a boat! Great place to explore Seattle or stay cozy inside and watch the rain come down.

    Teresa2018-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect Seattle living. Quiet but not too far from restaurants and bars. Great community, beautiful views, and a very comfortable layout. I will definitely be back.

    Noah2018-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a truly spectacular vacation spot. Spectacular views and right next to gasworks Park. We did not have a car it was an easy walk or a quick ride on a Lime bike to the bus stop. The bus system is fantastic and we were able to explore the entire city. Shelli’s boat was super comfortable and had everything we needed. One hint would be to lay the two mats in the bedroom over the skylight to return to a cooler house.

    Bob2018-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • This place is so much better than a hotel. If you like the water and the feeling of a house boat look no futher. Shelly and Riley your host provide anything you need. Its super clean. Cozy and comfortable. I really didnt want to leave.

  • Ben was the perfect host. Engaging, funny, knowledgeable, generous and extremely easy to get along with, but just as adept at knowing when to give us space to enjoy the experience. I can't recommend the experience highly enough.

    Euan2016-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Ben was a great and very responsive to questions via text before and during our stay. Great experience!

    Edward2017-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Staying on Ben and Deb’s boat, the True, we had a wonderful stay, making our first night as a married couple amazing! Ben, incredibly flexible in taking us out after the wedding, and provided everything we needed to make us feel comfortable aboard. The True itself is amazing and very well equipped. The ship has beautiful wood dinning and seating areas, with a functional kitchen. One can enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning with great views from in the cabin, or on deck on two comfortable beanbag chairs. The bed is fantastically comfortable, and after a long day, we were quickly lulled to sleep by the gentle rocking of the ship. I could imagine spending several days there comfortably, though alas we only had the one night. We definitely would recommend the experience!

    Tommy2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent communication prior to arrival: Detailed instruction and advise, professional and welcoming. Ben made every effort to ensure a smooth stay. One night felt like a weeks holiday in terms of relaxation. The boat is in great shape and it felt like a floating home from home. We took a 2 hour sail before being dropped off for dinner in a local restraunt. Following the meal Ben ferried us out to the boat and then returned as arranged at 10am the next day to pick us up. Sunset and sunrise on the water in a calm and quiet harbour with a view of the Seattle skyline, just perfect! A great experience for the kids too; our 9 and 10 year olds even took turns stearing the boat while under sail and are still talking about it a week later. A great change from a hotel or house stay, I would recommend to anyone.

    James2016-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great sail and stay on Ben's boat. We lucked out with amazing weather and great views on our sunset sail. Such a cool experience!

  • Ben was the perfect host! We had such an amazing experience sailing and staying aboard. Certainly one of our favorite experiences in Seattle!

  • Ben is our captain. He is very friendly and funny. Also, he is excellent at sailing, no worries on the boat. Also, they response our message really quick, provide us good qualify breakfast. It is a wonderful experience to my family!

    Yuan2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • It was perfect. We’ll never forget our amazing stay on Ben and Deb’s gorgeous sailboat. They were amazing hosts, extremely accommodating and helpful. The sailboat had everything we needed for a super-comfortable overnight stay. I proposed to my now-fiancée on the anchored-out boat at dusk and it was the perfect romantic experience. It couldn’t have gone better. I feel so lucky to have been able to work with Ben and Deb on the perfect romantic excursion. We’ll definitely be back.

  • A fun adventure on Bainbridge Island... Great location within easy walking distance to quaint Winslow with lots of good restaurants & shops. We had beautiful weather which gently rocked us to sleep in the amazingly comfortable beds and allowed us to sit out on the cockpit and take in the beautiful scenery. Opening the turtle hatch and climbing down into the salon was not a problem for us but might be a challenge for someone with limited agility. The "fireplace" was easy to use and created a cozy and relaxing warmth. One caution - make sure you understand the process for flushing the toilet/head... we were not able to master keeping the holding tank odor from drifting in when you opened the lid.

    Judy2016-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely stay...Cocktails on the deck...cozy at night. Walking distance to cute restaurants..or cook on the boat. A lovely getaway so close to Seattle.

  • My wife and I loved everything about staying on the Oh Joy II! The boat is beautiful and comfortable, the location is gorgeous with excellent restaurants nearby, and Harry is very friendly and quick to respond to any questions or requests. Harry took u out for the 3 hour Sunset Sail, and we had a lot of fun seeing the sights and eating tasty hors d'oeuvres. We had a great time, and definitely recommend staying here!

    Chris2014-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • The best date night we've had in ages! Harry is a fantastic host and patiently, and the Oh Joy II is an incredible boat. Highly recommended!

    Brian2018-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Our family (3) thoroughly enjoyed our stay on the Oh Joy II. We were impressed by the craftsmanship of the boat. It is in great shape with all the conveniences of a home away from home. We had everything we needed. The stay in the marina was quite pleasant - quiet, stable (virtually no boat movement for those worried about that), marina amenities are very nice. The location is very convenient to "main street" Bainbridge - very walkable with lots of great shopping and dining only a few minutes stroll away. The experience was a treat that will be long remembered - it opened our eyes to future plans on the water. Would defiantly do it again - and stay longer!

    Brad2016-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • We are just leaving after an amazing three nights on Harry's absolutely gorgeous yacht. We were comfortable and happy the entire time we were there. Harry is so kind and engaging, just totally a perfect host. Little bit pricey when compared with staying at a hotel, but it was an incredible experience that was completely worth every penny. We are so happy!

    Kaitlin2016-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Harry was thorough and welcoming host! He was immediately responsive to questions before our stay and met us with a warm welcome when we arrived. He explained everything we needed to know and got our stay off to a great start. We really loved the fun of staying on his lovely boat. Do be aware, however, that you will need to plan ahead if multiple people need to shower as it takes 30 minutes to warm enough water for two short showers. All in all a wonderful place we would highly recommend!

    Rachel2015-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you, Harry, for a truly memorable experience as guests aboard "Oh Joy!" recently, and for those hours at the helm of your potential circumrounder! I highly recommend the full experience to those seeking to relax comfortably, dine locally, breath deeply and dream (Website hidden by Airbnb) they enjoy the reflected backdrop of Mt. Rainier and the snow-capped Cascades from boatside. All contact and communication was prompt and effective from pre-arrival through departure. Tasty breakfast treats, great local coffee, friendly Marina-mates, clean on-dock facilities, impeccably shipshape cruiser...all combine to produce a truly 'Joyful' experience you'll wish to repeat... • The host was really nice and welcoming. She made sure we were comfortable in the space we were staying. She made up an extra bed just so I would be comfortable. It was a beautiful place to stay and a good experience.

  • Mary did a great job making my dad feel at home. The dockton park area was a lovely setting for a week long visit to Vashon, very scenic and filled with wildlife. Mary made a fresh breakfast each morning with hot coffee and brought it out to the boat. Great service. Very comfortable fit for one person. Thanks!

  • Absolutely enjoyed our stay in the sailboat! Mary went out of her way to accomodate especially with transporting us around the island. She went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and even packed us a sack breakfast to eat on the ferry.

  • Mary made us feel very welcome. She brought us breakfasts and was rxtremely helpful. The location of the boat was wonderful--mother seal and her pup included. My husband felt a little claustrophobic the first night but Mary helped by suggesting a different location in the boat. Even though it is an island we tooh ferries off and on with no difficulty.

  • Our stay on the Bluebird was great, very peaceful, comfortable, and pleasant! The location was great and Mary was a perfect host!

  • We called Masry last minute because a reservation fell through - after she heard about our dilemma she offered to put us up on a sister ship from her listed boat. Mary was amazing. She even brought us breakfasts... We took a sail with one of her friends-and had a lot of fun hanging out with the captain-his name is Randy and you should ask Mary to get you in touch with him. The marina was clean and quite-nothing fancy or loud. Vachon island is pretty. And the little town is cute. Go to the farmers market on saturday. Alpaca wool growm on the island. The best pastries. Other arts and craft from Vachon. Skip the lighthouse. S

  • Mary was a gracious hostess. We really enjoyed sleeping on the boat. Very relaxing vacation. Would definitely return to Island.

  • Vashon Island was a great place to stay when we wanted to visit Seattle. Sleeping on the Bluebird made the whole experience even more beautiful! It might be smaller than a house/appartment, but the fresh air, sunsets, stars and beach make up for it. Mary was supersweet and explained everything there is to know. Definitely a recommendation!

Enjoy a weekend on Allegra in a local seattle port. She is well built sailboat with a warm teak interior. She has a wide beam that provides a surprising amount of room for a 38' sailboat.
On deck there is a large protected cockpit allowing you to enjoy Puget Sound. Below is a generous salon with a galley. Your accommodations will be in the private forward cabin that comfortably sleeps two. Local areas to visit: Poulsbo The town of Winslow in Eagle Harbor, Bainbridge Island Kingston Langley Blake Island In some cases moorage is subject to availability. Moorage will need to be prepaid to a port to secure a reservation and would be non refundable.
Shilshole Marina is located next to Golden Gardens beach park, and a short walk to the south you’ll find two wonderful restaurants, Ray’s Boat House & Anthony’s Home Port.
  • Bill was an extremely gracious host. His sailboat was cozy and everything we were looking for! Perfect stay!

  • Bill put the "Sea" in Seattle... make sure to book yourself a day of sailing with Bill at the helm!!!! Thanks again to you and Patty for a great stay & experience!!!

    Gordon2015-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Wow!!! What an amazing experience from beginning to end! We contacted Bill at the last minute (Friday) to book a day of sailing on Saturday, he answered promptly and answered all my questions. When we arrived he was there and ready to go. We are new sailboat enthusiasts so he showed us all the features and amenities of his particular boat, walked through safety procedures, and we were off. Bill was a gracious host, so fun to talk to, we swapped life stories and sea stories all day. As a skipper Bill is knowledgeable, confident and patient and he allowed us to contribute plenty. I would schedule another sail with Bill in a heartbeat, I would recommend him to anybody, especially to office-bound city slickers like me that look out our office windows at the water and dream of being part of the cool kids that get to be on a sailboat, wild and free. I slept deeper than I'd slept in years after the experience. Thank you Bill, that was truly a peak life moment for us.

  • This was my first stay with Air B&B, and I couldn't have asked for a better one! Staying in the beautiful Marina on the sailboat made the entire Seattle experience unforgettable. There are clean bathroom facilities a few steps away, a coffee shop with breakfast & delicious coffee and a beach, all in walking distance...that is, if you ever leave the calm cozy sailboat! Bill, the host was so accommodating and gracious. He gave us our space to enjoy the scenery and relax. You'd be silly to vacation to Seattle any other way!

    Amanda2015-07-27T00:00:00Z

  • we ended not staying at the boat when we got there, FYI we have to ride a ferry to get to Vashon Island and cost $33 every day. the boat is too hot, no air conditioned , no TV. the shower is walking distance . it says fit 4 people i think its only good for 2 person. no wifi, there is only 1 outlet for electrival charge. it is very uncomfortable!!! we payed almost $500 for 2 nights without staying in there. think airbnb should refund us back. i want AirBNB to call me

  • We had a great time on the boat, the kids thought it was a real adventure. We even got to see sea otter, that was a real treat. Mary brought us a very nice breakfast, blueberries, pancakes, coffee, etc. Vashon had lots of wild life, and a quaint little town with some nice restaurants. If you are going to Vashon Island, this is the place to stay.

  • My wife and I spent a wonderful weekend on the Blue Bird!

    Cristian2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Mary was a great hostess, and we had a really wonderful weekend stay. With three girlfriends, we were a bit crammed into the boat, but the warm breakfasts and scenery made it all worthwhile. I would probably recommend the boat more for a couple with a small kid or two rather than a group of friends, since we had to turn the table into sleeping quarters to accommodate the four of us (then got lazy about turning it back into a table during the day). The boat is more rustic than luxurious, but the spot can't be beat and sitting out on the deck in the sun eating hot pancakes on a August morning was a real treat.

    Rebecca2014-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great experience staying on SV Bluebird. Vashon island is so quaint and the boat was in a very nice quiet park with good facilities. Mary made sure we had everything we needed and delivered us a wonderful hot breakfast! It was a very nice summer weekend getaway!

    Kelley2014-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Our first Airbnb adventure wouldn't have been the same without the Bluebird! We had the most incredible time staying on Mary's sailboat in Vashon; the island is so serene, lush and green, the boat was thoughtfully tended to and Mary brought us coffee and yummy healthy snacks, and wonderful hot breakfast! She made sure we had everything we needed. We even got to meet her lovely Great Dane, Bella... What a sweetheart! We had impeccable weather during our stay - nice crisp mornings and a clear night sky filled with stars. Taxi and ferry rides through Vashon and to Seattle were remarkably easy to come across for such a peaceful, quiet island, and Mary was kind enough to give us a ride from town to the boat after we enjoyed a bit of the strawberry festival. We'd stay on the Bluebird again in a heartbeat for another vacation in Washington! The sailboat experience just can't be beat.

    Rowan2014-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Staying on Bluebird was a wonderful experience. She's a good old boat, and the whole stay was peaceful and comfortable, and I slept like a baby in the gorgeous Quartermaster Harbor. Mary was an excellent host, communicative and accommodating. Great adventure and highly recommended!

  • Me and fiancé had a great weekend on the blue bird. It's great boat at a great location. Mary is super sweet and the breakfast she brought us each morning was awesome! We will stay again!

ATTENTION: For over night at the slip: As noted through out the photos one can see that the Patriot is kept under cover for protection from the elements as it is a classic heavily built ocean going wood vessel only 12 were made in 1972, 11 surviving. Undercover, however, I pull it back as far as I can without being inconsiderate to my neighbors, and still have an outstanding view of all the activities that take place on the lake. Every vessel that comes through passes by my aft. If you would like a better feel of the open air while on a vessel as this, I give a very reasonably priced 3 hour tour, which at the end of the year is basically you and I going in on the cost of vessel operation. I do this to help the folks that do not have the means to experience boat life. This is a typical wooden marina also built long ago however thru the ages has been kept updated and constantly replacing areas that show wear. It is one of the wonderful examples of how they all looked in the past. We have some 30 original marinas left from when the Lake was coming onto its own (please research Lake Union history). About the dock the Patriot is moored on. The Finger dock used to board the Patriot is scheduled for replacement as it has a very slight tilt and a few worn boards, it is however still absolutely as safe as any dock can be. Lake Union is known for the interesting history of past times when it was a working lake, where you will see many original marinas built in the 1920's up to todays modern standards. Within those old marinas can be found some very old rare vessels all mostly built here on the Lake during the 20's to today. Get permission from marina management to stroll some of these older marinas and find some treasured rare vessels still afloat and being used. Please note: I list my accommodations as shared space under the advise of Airbnb. But what is what is available to my guests is the entire vessel. Although I am aboard, as it is a safety requirement for which I made with the management of the marina and also agree with as there are many systems that most are not familiar with that run a vessel of this size. I do try and spend most of my time either away or working on business computer items in the pilot house for which is where I sleep. This gives my guest a large area of privacy and at times after I feel the guests are familiar enough I will spend some of the nights away. Guests have the use of the entire home, all areas, rooms, all sleeping spaces including bed on the bow, each bathroom, Pilot house, large refrig, fully galley. Areas not immediately open for access would only be the engine room, for which I will be more then happy to show and take you through. ALSO, The Owner/skipper is required to be on board while hosting guests. I fully support this outlook as it is a safety net for the guest and vessel. A vessel of this size and type operates constantly on many complex systems, even just sitting in the slip, and requires a person that understands and knows how/where to monitor, fix if needed (RARE) all and everything aboard the vessel. It is also my opinion that a person who does not understand marine systems on a vessel of this size and complexity avoid staying aboard alone without someone with direct knowledge of that vessel. Ask yourself, what would you do if, This is why I am here, I am here to help you be at easy and enjoy a taste of life aboard a large classic vessel. I love this experience and life-style, the environment and want to share it with those that would like to know for themselves, feel and learn what it is like to live aboard a big boat. CHILDREN: A vessel is a good environment for children, however first! the child must be safe, for the environment. Please discuss. So come enjoy this wonderful environment knowing you have someone aboard that knows and understands the vessel you are staying on. BELOW IS BEING REVISED, feel free to read but when dong so keep in mind some infor is a repeat and so will be a refit. THANK YOU Tom The overnight is a 2 hours to get there, two hours back, two nights overnight are the most satisfying however if one night is all you have that will be a memory you would not have if passed up just because its only one. lets go!. and we can even go after dark which is very unique, intresting and fun. other simple logistics to be discussed at the time. NOTE: The Patriot is large providing plenty of privacy space. My own privet bunk is on the 3rd floor up described in detail through out this Ad. SLEEPING SPACES Lower level #1. Captain's quarters you will find a queen bed with a new mattress, with an adjoining full bath, with a small tub/shower, wash basin, and head (toilet.) It even has a towel warmer. #2 Forward Large Cabin has a double bed plus a single bunk 1/4 hangover above lower double. #3 Smaller bunk room/with adjoining bath, with basin, and shower. This is a shared bath. There you can find a small library. Mid level here you will find the salon (living room,) with lounge chairs for comfortable TV watching, or if you have work to do, it is pleasant to sit at the computer station, with the lake spread out in front of you. The sun room, with a panoramic view is a favorite place to have morning coffee and a breakfast start to choose from if desired, watch the parade of pleasure and working boats got past. As dusk grows into darkness, our guests enjoy watching the dancing reflections on the water from the city's lights. Or they are out till all hours enjoying Seattle. The galley Food Options: There is a large refrig. to keep what you need in. Lunches and dinners not included however, you are welcome to plan and bring your favorite meals, if a situation arises that I do cook a meal a gratuity will be graciously appreciated, but most all guests have enjoyed the local restaurants. except for breakfast this will be provided if desired and would be at not extra charge. Helping yourself to items I will show you that are available to Choose from, cold or hot cereal (oatmeal) choice of fruits, nuts, granola. I have almond silk milk, please if whole milk is desired or any other items feel free to bring them all. Coffee (Arabica) of course and teas provided. I will setup for you to help yourself, if I need to leave early we will cover it night before. Lots of restaurants but the galley may be used, there is a microwave oven and if the propane stove is used I just need to go over a few safety procedures and how propane stove top works. #4 When there are guests, my quarters are in the wheel house, where there is a watchman's cot and my space for sleeping doing my computer work, while keeping an eye on all systems. A total of 4 single bunks are aboard this vessel. One single "Captain watchman's cot" is up in the top level pilot house which is where I sleep, providing guest privacy below. It is a large vessel. A general rule for the Docks and any Vessel: I ask that you be acutely aware, in unfamiliar environments, being watchful, taking care while slowly walking the docks and moving around inside the vessel. A habit of good Skippers are to ask their guests for everyone to watch each other. (life jackets always available to those weary of the water and is not anything to feel self conscious about. While aboard any vessel or dock, we all need to move slowly, watchful and pay diligent attention to our footing keeping an eye out for trip items. Your safety and enjoyment is most important to me. These are docks, some covered as my slip is, can back into 1920's and have been rebuilt many times as time moved forward. Nothing dangerous, just to keep in mind. These docks have hidden treasures, as old forgotten about or highly restored classics, boats of all types, many originally built on this lake decades ago, keep your eye out on my dock and as you walk the lakes paths. Often I see from out from the back viewing room of the Patriot, unique vessels slip silently past, some restored, some looking as they just started for the 1st time in 70 years. I have lived aboard around this lake for 17 years and still see some of these old classic's pass by I have never seen, many of the originals are still tucked away hiding somewhere in a dark hidden corner, an old slip in one of these old manias. Aboard the Patriot: Although there is ample head room, 6 foot plus, however for the basketball players please watch for a possible head bump while descending the staircases, I will explain clearly to you the few systems you will be using, giving a basic but complete explanation of them. I also would enjoy introducing you to the advanced computer driven Navigational systems Showing programs used, electronic charts and how the programs that display current, tide information for any day in any year. The radars, for which this vessel has two, one 25 mile a short range to help me keep track of what is directly behind me and a very long range of 75 miles to see while in open and long waters. This is a huge roomy very comfortable and interesting classic older well maintained and equipped mini-ship, where a 42 inch TV, just begs to have a good movie watched from the comfortable twin recliners, unless you have work to be done on the internet. Some guests have come here to do work in the aft "sunroom" found through the beautifully varnished double doors that separates the living space from the glassed in "sunroom", a great place to eat and work from. In the Galley (Kitchen) you will find a full size S/S double door refrig and twin bottom freezers, enough room for all. Breakfast you will find a host of morning eats, At times I will be available to prepare a breakfast, if not I will have you all set up to find provided morning starters. Coffee, oatmeal to cook adding fruits, nuts, etc. or choices of cold cereal. Fruit, nuts, and cranberries, Almond milk is what I use and will be found in the refr more then welcome to bring your favorite foods or drinks and use the galley (kitchen) DINNER, Dinners I can not supply however, The full gallery microwave minus propane stove unless I am present If you like, and this includes breakfast, feel free to bring any foods you might like to prepare. Other options for foods, their are fine restaurants in the area. Mornings if a full breakfast was not desired you could start with sweet rolls, coffee and chase down a restaurant later if you like. IT IS ALL UP TO YOUR OWN DESIRES.. STAYING HOME, If it sounds good staying in for evenings for a movie or to watch the dusk grow into the darkness. Feel to stay and just relax In the Pilot house there is a hidden sink with hot and cold running water. Past the galley through the comfortable living space is found a set of beautifully varnished double doors , through the doors is another entire room that can go privet, just by closing the twin doors. In this room, the far end of the vessel, you are surrounded by windows and if the weather is nice enough then can be opened along with the rear door exposing the water. My pet duck my pay you a visit. You will also find a glass table to eat from while computing, eating or just watching all the vessel traffic pass by . Night brings the sparkling night lights on the lake and if the wind is up the water looks as a running river. I must ask that red wine never ever leaves that aft viewing room. There is no smoking in or around the boats or docks prohibited by fire department for obvious reasons, for smoking, one must go out through the gate and smoke in the concrete parking lot, Thank you. Thank you for your interest. Your stay will be an unforgettable time. Good opportunities for your own personal photography pass the viewing room. My own special Photography and artwork turned into fine art wall hangings that resemble hand painted pieces are available as well. Photos of your group and the M.V.Patriot turned into a fine art walling or just a photo are available as well. Anything unclear confusing or plain questions please take the time to write and ask. Thank you, your Skipper guide and caregiver, Tom G Whipple

  • We had a nice experience staying on Tom's yacht. It's a beautiful ship with a nice view of the marina, and the beds were super comfortable. Tom was very nice and welcoming to my friends and I during our stay. Thanks again!

  • Tom, our host - was exceptional in getting us all set up long before our stay happened. Thank you! We only had the one day/night in Seattle area and found this boat to be very relaxing and comfy. We had a great time sharing stories of life, gaining insights into some places to visit and eat at. Tom is a wealth of information and a very talented photographer. If you have got even one night, we recommend staying here so that you can take in the ever changing view of Lake Union from the water. Great access to all fun activities.

  • Tom was available to get us and give us a tour of the boat

  • Tom is a warm cordial host who made us feel like family with free run of the boat. He was always at hand to share stories and offer tips and advice. The boat is comfortable, accommodating our family of four including morning showers, with many spaces inside and out. I especially enjoyed waking up with each morning’s coffee in the salon and watching the rowers practice just off the back of the boat. The marina is in a convenient central location with easy access to all of Seattle’s attractions. We wish we had more time to relax aboard, but we had a lot of sights to see and friends to visit during our short stay.

  • Tom was very accommodating and easy to work with. His boat is as described and he goes the extra mile to ensure you are comfortable. My one takeaway with the "house boat" rental would be to understand the need for the Captain to be around. With this said, most boats even 55' is super small if your not wanting to "share" space with the owner. If this had been listed as a shared space rental and we as a small group wanted that, then my review would be 5 stars!! However my group would have enjoyed more privacy and space to move around. Again, Tom was courteous, kind and helpful. If your looking for a way to learn about boats, the lake and the house boat life, this is a great choice. If your looking for privacy, rocky ground and full size toilets. Keep scrolling.
