Food Scene

A tiny unit within Market Row with a few tables outside, weather permitting. Fantastically zingy thai food: Yum-D's Laksa soup (although not technically a thai dish) is splendid, their roasted duck red curry a delight.,

Possibly the best Mexican (or Tex-Mex, for the purists!) in Brixton, with great-value-for-money staples such a burritos, tacos, enchiladas, quesadillas etc. that can be washed down with Modelo Negra or cheladas. On sunny days, there's a handful of tables outside to soak up a few rays whilst keeping the (spice) heat down!

Located within a shipping container in the heart of foodie heaven 'Pop Brixton', Kricket dishes out modern indian food in tapas size, with a cooking style that is imaginative, centered on adding some umami to one's experience of some uniquely tasty food. It's not particularly cheap, given the rather casual surroundings, and there might be a bit of a wait before being able to get a table, but it's a treat.

One for the carnivores out there: humongous chunks of beef, pork and everything in between served with salad or french fries in a busy atmosphere bang in the middle of Brixton Village - and with a Portuguese twist. Reasonably good value for money. Also great for brunch.

With a menu as small as the premises, this friendly joint within Brixton Village specialises in Pakistani thalis: large plates of scrumptious curry-flavoured food with a choice of chicken lamb of vegetarian. The samosas and the mango lassis are highly recommended.
