It has a proper pizza oven with good not too expensive Italian food and great pizzas- my favourite is the Calzone- they do good locally brewed beer and nice soft drinks it’s child friendly and dog friendly. And it’s just three minutes from the house.

A delicious feast. If money is no object then this superb restaurant is a great place to celebrate in style - fine dining at its best. Just a short walk along the other side of the river- booking in advance essential.

The plough is nestled on the river and a pleasant walk along the tow path from the house - the food is good but can take a while to come- be prepared to wait- but the surroundings more than make up for it.

You can walk along to midsummer common that leads into the heart of the historic centre of Cambridge - along the river dotted opposite the rowing clubs are pubs and places to sit out.

It’s worth going to evensong whilst you are in Cambridge -kings is the most famous with their choristers singing on Christmas Eve every year as a live broadcast.

Trinity college is one of the largest and richest in Cambridge and boasts a large wine cellar running under the whole of first court. It has a library designed by Sir Christopher Wren the same architect who designed St. Paul’s cathedral in London.
