Bring swim suit, shorts, sleeveless or short sleeve shirts, sun dress. You will probably spend most of your time in a bathing suit. Bring one nicer outfit (island casual) if you think you might want to go to one of the more expensive restaurants. If you come in the winter bring one light weight sweater. It can get as cold as the low 70's. Bring coral safe sunscreen. Spray sunscreen is not allowed.

Before asking for directions or anything be sure to greet the person. Always approach people with Good Morning, Good afternoon or good night (that means hello at night like Buenos Noches). Greet people you pass. If you walk into a waiting room announce a greeting to the whole room. They will all respond to you.

However, if you plan to stay at the beach and occasionally go out, there are plenty of taxis right on the property. Each person pays for a taxi. If there are four in your party, you will pay for four. It is not per ride. There is the safari bus for $1. It will pick you up at the top of the hill and goes in a circle to Tutu, It only goes in one direction. When you get to Tutu you can continue on to get back to Sapphire or you can pay $1 and continue to Charlotte Amalie.

Do see historic Charlotte Amalie. Start at Bluebeard's castle and end up in the heart of Charlotte Amalie. Take a walking tour. St. Thomas has a rich history.
