Sightseeing

The Sunken Forest at Sailors Haven is a beautiful protected national park. Its green, lush and a nice diversion from a day at the beach. There are ranger led guided tours or do a self guided tour. Just remember your bug spray!

At the western end of Fire Island is the restored Fire Island Lighthouse. If you can manage almost 200 steps (with view stops at windows along the way), the view from the top is spectacular in all directions.
