The UPP referes to really nice restaurant with good blend of local and international dishes, both for carnivours and vegetarians, and the NER refers to really nice bar downstairs where you might want to take a predinner drink or have a night-cab before heading home. Live musik on fridays from 10 pm (at least in the winter)

Parks & Nature
The beach stretches from Ystad Saltsjöbad and almost 5 km. east. You acces either by parking at Ystad Saltsjöbad and walk to where you want to be (there is a pedestrian road the first km) or you stay on the road to Simrishamn (road 9) and acces one of the many parkinglots in the smal wood-streak between road and beach. They are numbered for you to be able to find the car again. Please take care of the area and keep it tidy :-)

On the ridge above the harbor in the fishing mode Kåseberga is Sweden's largest ship, Ales stones. It currently comprises a total of 59 boulders, is 67 meters long and 19 meters wide. The experience on the ridge, where the sea meets the sky and nature come so close is magical!
For fishing situation every day, throughout the year, numerous visitors who want to enjoy the atmosphere, eat and drink well and hike up the ridge to the stone ship. Artists, artisans, souvenir shops and Rescue Museum is side by side with restaurants, fish smokehouse and kiosks.
To come up to Ales stones if they are disabled or in wheelchairs is unfortunately not possible. You can not run up there with the car and the road up the country lane with grass in the middle and difficult to roll on.

At the tourist office you can get qualified travel information for Ystad, Österlen, Skåne and the rest of Sweden in many different languages.
We book various types of accommodation such as hotels, bed & breakfasts and cottages. We also offer several different packages with accommodation and activities.
Many of the most important brochures and maps are available at our booth even then the tourist office is closed.

Entertainment & Activities
If you pay the local Tourist Information Office in Ystad a visit, and we suggest you do, they will be delighted to tell you about the ‘In the footsteps of Wallander tour’ and conceptual guide tours where you can try to solve some Wallander murder mysteries. Or they might even tell you about the Wallander- related smart phone apps you can download. And they might just tell you about the ‘Wallander package’ deals you can book through them.
The town also has a fascinating history, top-class museums and art galleries, 40 km of sandy beaches and gorgeous rolling Skåne countryside on its doorstep. Some seaside towns have it all.
If you take one of the Wallander guided tours you get to see most of the town and its mostly historic attractions. If you don’t, the big ones are St Knut’s square, the 12th century Grey Friar’s monastery and adjacent Saint Petri church and museum. There are lots of good cafés and restaurants in Ystad and no, you don’t have to live on pizza and hamburgers, like inspector Wallander does.
Ystad is part of the beautiful region of Skåne in southern Sweden and a terrific base from which to discover its culture, traditions, historic sites and vibrant towns, cities and nature.
