Great pub for river views. (It was one of the locations where the film Yesterday was filmed!). It's about a 15 minute drive. It's fab to sit outside and the children can play on the river bank. It would be good to incorporate this with a trip to Bawdsey or Shingle Street.

Isolated shingle beach, Shingle Street. Please be careful if you go in the sea here as there is a strong current. There is also a natural 'lagoon' on the beach popular for families as it is safe. People play on SUP boards etc here. Another filming location for the film 'Yesterday'.

Great for families. There is a large boating mere/lake here with rowing boats and kayaks to hire and you can visit little 'islands' and get on and off them. There's a great cafe opposite the boating pond, good breakfasts. The beach is shingle. Look out for 'Shell' Sculpture by Maggie Hambling. You can walk to Aldeburgh from Thorpeness. We like the Dolphin pub for good food and you can sit in the large garden.

A sophisticated seaside town, with beautiful cafes, shops and galleries. We like the Brudenell Restaurant on the seafront for Sunday lunch. My favourite for food is the Lighthouse. Aldeburgh is famous for its fish and chips. There is likely to be queues for these! It's a good place to buy seafood on the beach.

This is a beautiful sand and shingle beach. There is a cafe and a couple of pubs and a handful of shops. Walberswick is very well known as a crabbing spot - you will be able to buy crabbing kit in the beachside carparks, remember bacon (there's also a small supermarket on the way into the village.)

The Tide Mill is an iconic building in Woodbridge, but I have a confession - I've never been to the museum! The river walk is a beautiful one. You could start at the Mill or the Tea Hut and do the circular walk, which takes you to Kyson point, midway and you return on the Woodland path and come out at Kingston Park. Kingston park is a good one for children, there's also tennis courts, a swimming pool, cinema and a skate park nearby. We sometimes go crabbing infront of the T-hut, although there probably are better places for this, such as Walberswick and Bawdsey. Depending on the tide, Kyson Point is good for wild swimming.
