The Leonardo da Vinci Museum was opened in the monastery of San Vittore in 1953. This great and versatile man devoted most of his life to technical inventions, so the Milan Polytechnic Museum of Science and Technology quite deservedly bears his name. It houses an exhibition of works, sketches and drawings, as well as a collection of scientific treatises by Leonardo. Other halls of the museum are devoted to the most important sections of modern science and technology: materials, energy, transport, technology and communications.
