Very good pizza - real stone oven - if you are hungry and do not want to cook... In summer they have a large terrace which is pleasant. Bitch about the mediocre wine collection, I do too......

Excellent Thai food at walkable distance. It is a small (and ugly) place but you can always take away and eat in your own nice loft...

This Italian family has been running the restaurant since the 1970s, very good prices for top quality food. And just around the corner! Great pizza's, but also their meat dishes are simply delicious!

Great neighbourhood to walk, have a beer or a bite. The best market in town - the Albert Cuyp market - in the street with the same name. Great places for drinks and food on and around the market.

sightseeing

Rent your won boat per hour to explore the city, simply an amazing experience
Great place, especially the Micropia. You may not like animals kept in cages (good point), so Artis went into the micro animal world. Super interesting, also for (younger) kids

(Close to Anne Frank House) The Homomonument is a memorial in the centre of Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands. It commemorates all gay men and lesbians who have been subjected to persecution because of their homosexuality. Opened on September 5, 1987, it takes the form of three large pink triangles made of granite, set into the ground so as to form a larger triangle, on the bank of the Keizersgracht canal, near the historic Westerkerk church. The Homomonument was designed to "inspire and support lesbians and gays in their struggle against denial, oppression and discrimination." It was the first monument in the world to commemorate gays and lesbians who were killed by the Nazis.
