Access to Sand Lake is a paved, marked path from Caravelle Drive--an easy walk from our rental! Ask Kay about renting her canoe, or about renting kayaks or paddleboards from a local outfitter!

Snow City Cafe is the downtown restaurant that President Obama chose when he came to Anchorage! It is busy, but worth it! Great breakfasts and brunches.

Sightseeing
From the flattop overlook, you can see all of Anchorage, Cook Inlet, Fire Island, and the mountains and volcanoes beyond! Parking is just $5, and cash is best for that.

Just go there and you won't be disappointed :-) It's a very short drive down the Seward Highway. Plan to spend at least a half hour taking in the experience. Often, Beluga whales are seen from this area. No parking fee!
