Sightseeing
Take a stroll by the seafront beginning from the White Tower all the way down to the port. Day (preferably before noon in the summer) or night the promenade is the quintessence of Thessaloniki. One one side is Leoforos Nikis avenue with the buzzing bars and food joints and on the other Thermaikos bay with the port cranes in the horizon creating a magnificent setting at sunset. If the atmosphere is clear you can see Mount Olympus right in front of you.

The area also attracts a shady crowd, but there is no worry as long as the shops are open.
