A 50s style diner with a killer traditional breakfast, just $6.95 on weekdays. Try their mercury-style hash browns for a homemade take. Also does lunch and at times hosts evening punk shows.

They have great sushi, but don’t let the menu fool you. It’s Korean-owned, and they make a mean bibimbap. It’s also one of the few places in the city you can get Korean soju liquor.

The best coffee in the city. If you’re from Vancouver, you’ll be pleased to know that this is the only place you can get 49th Parallel beans. Don’t expect exposed brick and iron fittings though.

The owners started this cafe in honour of their daughter, who has a gluten allergy. They make wonderful Asian-vegetarian lunch dishes, but also do their own take on dishes like quiche and panini.

Food worthy of any big-city menu. I’ve had some of my best meals at Flip. Plus it’s close to Victoria’s Tavern and Atlantis, so you can just make a day out of trying all these great spots!

Best sushi in town. It makes sense because the owner used to be a chef at the beloved Michi Japanese restaurant before it closed down. Chefs are Japanese and very talented.
