With a variety of different restaurants including Georgian, Italian, Mexican, Asian and others, desserts and drinks, snacks and shops, this place is great to experience even just to taste some snacks. Most Georgians know basic English, and the older generation all speak Russian. Saying things like thank you in Georgian goes a long way.

Local Currency
Check the conversion rate online when buying local currency to make sure you're getting a good rate, and make sure you're not paying commission. At the airport, look for Bank of Georgia or TBC bank for exchange.
It is against the law to pay in foreign currency in cash, so it's helpful to have some GEL (Georgian Lari)
International cards in shops, restaurants and cafes are usually fine.
If you're left with extra Laris before you leave, you can always change it back at the airport.

Street dogs
Tbilisi has a lot of street dogs. They are not aggressive and usually well fed by people and restaurants. Some of them have tags on their ears which means they're vaccinated for rabies.

Beggars and Gypsies
Unfortunately Gypsies are becoming problematic and sometimes they get very close to you. The best thing to do is to ignore them. Keep your belongings in front of you when you see them.
Beggars are generally less invasive.

Grocery Stores and Trash Containers
a very small grocery store "Spar" is a minute from the apartment (as you leave to the left), a much larger supermarket "carrefour" is about 5 mins walk. To get to carrefour: as you leave, turn to your left and keep moving forward towards Orbeliani Square, pass the Presidents Palace and you will end up at the entrance of Carrefour in a couple of minutes. works from 09:00-22:30.
Trash containers are in front of the park, close to the statue. As you leave the apartment, to your left and across the street. 3 min walk.

Tap water is considered drinkable
Although bottled water is affordable here, most families drink from the tap.
