Favorite Local Restaurants
Columbia is full of great local restaurants, don't waste time with the same old same old experience some of the unique offerings.
Experimental icecream.... adult offerings and creative combinations. Interesting fun fact: during the cicada summer Sparky's offered icecream with the crunch of cicadas....until the FDA said cicadas could not be served to the public. I regret not being one of the first to try it before they had to stop serving it, I'll never know if I like cicada icecream. :(

I just love that this drive in has been open for decades, still serves rootbeer floats in real glass mugs and Zippy fries with cheese and chili. Yum Yum this was a staycation treat for my kids, the novelty of the place made us feel like we were out of town.

This place is nationally known as a pizza great. If you haven't had it you must. Be forwarned delivery on game days can be hours...but order early and wait. It is worth it and you can't visit Columbia without having a slice. I'm torn between the deluxe and the pepperoni as my favorite. The deluxe is so chock full of veggies and meat that there isn't a lot of space for the elasticy mozzarella cheese, for the ultimate cheese fix the pepperoni with extra cheese is AWESOME. Pepperonis are hand sliced in house for a thicker cut. If you dine in they will toss pie dough to kids, for entertainment while you wait. I love pairing my pizza with their Luigi Salad.

How fun to actually sit down in a chinese restaurant and read what animal everyone is, sharing fortunes, and pouring hot tea from a teapot. Excellent service and a PuPu platter with a live flame.
