Tours into the Neighborhood

Stay 5 days and chose to spend them with some of these wonderful tours
Diamond Harbour is another tranquil spot in the area and travelled best by ferry from Lyttelton harbour. Ferries take 20 minutes and leave in summer every 30 minutes. If you go there you may combine it with a stopover at Quail Island or Ohinetahi Garden.

To Ohinetahi Garden it is a beautiful 20 min coastal drive. A perfect place for a summer outing with a picnic basket. On the way in Governors Bay lies She Chocolaterie, "must stop and indulge" place.

Right behind the Boatique House starts the Bridle Path, a small footpath to an area of exiting 30+ km cross country walks, also for beginners. Be it direction East to Godley Head Park (one way 15 km) or West to Marleys Hill (one way 12 km), both tours are worth a day. But don't forget your water and a picnic basket.

Beautiful Akaroa and its breathtaking hiking paths belong to the best New Zealand has to offer. Travel there on a weekday, by leaving Boatique House at 7 am. You reach the Akaroa within 90 min for breakfast at the harbour. Stroll the town, the shops, take a boat tour or go for a small 3 hrs. walking tour before dine at one of the excellent restaurants and return to Lyttelton at night

You can avoid the town, but not on Saturdays. Saturday is market day, and the village brings out its best: Farmers, food & interested footfall. So don't miss to visit and shop your weekend food and the little NZ specialities to take home

If you leave the Boatique House, walk 45 minutes up hill, you reach on top of the hill, Summit Road. The road is mostly closed for cars and became a favourite workplace for hikers and bikers alike. Look out for the signage of small footpaths and you discover the true natural beauty of Lyttelton

Sightseeing

"Downtown" Lyttelton is London Street, and houses various excellent restaurants, cafes and retail stores. The best, it is only 5 minutes walking distance from the Boatique House

Christchurch is definitively worth more than one trip from Lyttelton. Start with a day sightseeing, earthquake sites, the earthquake museum, the art gallery and the tram.

Drinks & Bars

A unique experience, decorated quite quirky, niche entertainment. If you haven't been in the Wunderbar, you haven't understood Lyttelton.
