Near the dam they've constructed a spot where you can safely swim. This makes it very enjoyable for families with kids to go to. There's a children's pool available, where your toddler can swim among the fish. There is also a deeper end where the taller ones can take a swim. Or you can just take a jump in the lake itself. During the summer there's also a lifeguard present. Entrance is free and it's a 30 minute drive from our property. We have some spots nearer to us, but we rather share that information with you personally.
Aan de stuwdam is er een plek gemaakt waar je veilig kan zwemmen. Dit maakt het aangenaam om met gezinnen hierheen te gaan. Er is een kinderbadje voorzien waar je tussen de vissen kan zwemmen, maar er is ook een dieper gedeelte voor de iets groteren. Daarnaast kan je ook gewoon in het meer zelf springen om lekker af te koelen. In de zomer is er ook een badmeester aanwezig. Toegang is gratis en de locatie ligt ongeveer 30 minuten met de auto van Maravilhas vandaan. We hebben ook plekjes aan het meer dichterbij, maar die delen we liever persoonlijk met je.

Casa Nirvana recently opened in our village. You can go there for breakfast, lunch or dinner, or just for a drink (no alcohol is served, but for that you can go to the bar across the street). The interior is absolutely stunning and Indian-styled. The food is wonderful and you have a lot of options. Average price is around 15 Euros for main course, drinks, and dessert.

Zambujeira do Mar is a perfect spot to go to if you'd like to go to the beach. It's especially favourable if you are coming to Maravilhas with children. It's about an hour drive from our property and it's a small town connected to a beach. Therefore it's perfect to take your kids to. Play a bit at the beach, have a drink or a meal at the bar and enjoy the sunset at the end of the day.

Zambujeira do Mar is a perfect spot to go to if you'd like to go to the beach. It's especially favourable if you are coming to Maravilhas with children. It's about an hour drive from our property and it's a small town connected to a beach. Therefore it's perfect to take your kids to. The town itself has to offer a couple of shops where you can buy souvenirs for your friends and family, buy some surfing gear if you'd like, or some local products. Milfontes is a great day trip to do when you are staying at our property. It's about an hour drive.

Vila Nova de Milfontes
Milfontes is a coastal town at the west-coast. It's at the beach with a few beach bars where you can relax and have something to eat. The town itself has to offer a couple of shops where you can buy souvenirs for your friends and family, buy some surfing gear if you'd like, or some local products. Milfontes is a great day trip to do when you are staying at our property. It's about an hour drive.
Odemira is a bigger town in the area and it's about 30 minutes by car from our property. The river Mira runs through it and they've made a very nice sidewalk next to the river to accommodate pedestrians and let them enjoy the nice view. When you walk up to the library you'll find an even better view of the whole area and the town. Besides that, there's also a very nice chocolate bar where you can enjoy some delicious things while drinking a cup of coffee.

Odemira is a bigger town in the area and it's about 30 minutes by car from our property.
