Lots of movies have been filmed here. .. John Wayne, Salma Hayek and many others have been to this part of Durango to film movies. Paeo del viejo Oeste is basically a replica of an old wild west town, you can walk around, take pictures and see a show presented by local artists.

Sightseeing/ tours
If you want to walk, run, exercise or get fresh air I highly recommend Parque Sahutoba which is behind the house. You can walk or drive to Museo Bebeleche (there's parking there with access to el Sahuatoba) and explore the natural beauty. Remember that Durango is 6,000 miles above seal level, you may notice feeling tired sooner than usual. It usually takes a week or more to adjust to Durango's height.

This place is wonderful and must see if you are visiting Durango. Great to fo a day trip or a weekend trip if to rent a cabin and spend the night. Visit Coyote Tours VIP (Facebook) to find out about day or weekend trips outside the city.

A place to spend one or two nights to be in contact with the beauty of the Sierra in Durango. the hotel has activities for guests, a place I would recommend if you are in Durango for a couple of weeks or more.
Also, there's a place called Torre de Carpio (see it on Facebook) with nice cabins and incredible experience of the Sierra (the night ski is stunning !) but this trip takes about 3 hours (just to get there) someone from Torre de Carpio should bring you as google maps will not understand the location or internet may not even work. You will not be sorry. We did it two years ago and will for sure go back.

This is one of Mexico's biggest super markets. This location is about 10 minutes from the house. You find everything here: food, pharmacy, games, etc.

They have a delicious pre-made enchiladas/chilaquiles sauce. All you have to do is fry your tortillas, bathe in the sauce, stuff with chicken inside or just cheese, raw onions and enjoy !!

I love getting a pack of tamales to reheat on the comal (skillet inside the stove oven) and enjoy with coffee for breakfast or dinner.
