Walk through the Erie Lackawanna station and take the walkway that connects Hoboken to Jersey City Newport. Lots to see and do once you get to the Newport side. There’s a great children’s park and man made beach with chairs for relaxing in the warm months.

Home of Hoboken's largest slice and the pizza is quite good. Menu is fairly extensive if you're not in the mood for a slice, but most people go to Benny's for the pizza.

Best brick oven pizza in Hoboken IMHO though new places keep cropping up and we haven't tried them. Whenever I'm in the mood for brick oven pizza this is where we go — atmosphere is nice and restaurant extends far into the back, so you never have to wait for a table. Also very close to the Carriage House.

A must do when visiting New York. The former elevated freight line was slated for demolition and then repurposed into a public space. The entire walkway doesn't take that long to cover only there's a lot to do and see along the way.

If you want a good view of the Statue of Liberty and don't plan on visiting the statue or Ellis Island, take the Staten Island Ferry. It's also a great excursion if you want to get some perspective on NYC. The ferry is free; beware of scammers who might try to sell you tickets, you don't need them to board the ferry.
