Food Scene

This is a great little place for Spanish and Mexican-inspired tapas. Their food is fresh and delicious, and Pete, the owner, is a really nice guy. Great margaritas! Our favorite dinner place in Multnomah Village. (Closed Sundays, except for brunch.)

Excellent seafood, drinks, and less than a 10 minute walk from our place. Always say yes to the soup - made by their in-house Soup Jedi. Tons of regular menu options and innovative specials, with creative cocktails. Ask for the special vegetarian or gluten-free menu if needed. Call ahead to put your name on the list before you walk down, if dining between 6-8pm. Accepts reservations via phone or Yelp. Ask for a seat on the covered patio (also heated during cold weather).

Amazing bakery, plus breakfast and lunch options made with their baked goods. Locally sourced ingredients and friendly staff. Try to avoid driving here, as the parking is often full. But it's worth the walk!

Our favorite breakfast spot in Multnomah Village. Four kinds of Eggs Benedict, two rotating daily specials, and a reputation for great scratch-made smoothies. Ask for Secret Aardvark Hot Sauce with your meal if you like it spicy. Open for breakfast and brunch daily, closes at 3pm.

You've already been to the coffee chains - try something special. Unique and extensive drink flavorings, milks, and almost any customization you can think of - but not pretentious or over-priced. Just good coffee, and a few other things. Your trip to the village is not complete without a stop in here.

Best Ramen I've had in Portland. The owners of this shop specifically chose Portland for the water - something about it creating the perfect flavor for the Ramen. Try a house-made cocktail, and some gyoza with your Ramen to create the perfect meal.

Bowls, tacos, fresh guacamole, daily specials, and a selection of homemade salsas ranging from "mild" to "my tongue is dying." Usually a bit of a queue, but that just gives you a few minutes to narrow down your selection from EVERYTHING to JUST THESE 8 THINGS. Come hungry!

If you're on a tour of Ramen, this should be #2 on your list (right after AFURI in downtown Portland). It's located inside Uwajimaya, a fantastic Asian grocery store. The restaurant is not fancy - but you're there for the Ramen, and you've come to the right place. Try the Deluxe, or take a chance with the spicy version. Add more toppings like extra Chasu pork, or a perfectly soft-boiled egg. If you're very hungry, you can order extra broth (Miso is my favorite!) and noodles. Wander around Uwajimaya while you wait. Pro tip: if you know what you want to order, write it down on paper (provided) and hand it to the waiter to expedite starting your order. Don't forget the gyoza!

Drinks & Nightlife

If you like beer, this is the place for you. Over 700 different bottled beers available daily from around the world, including local breweries. With a newly installed taproom, you can try featured beers on draft, or pick any bottle and drink it there. Bring a reusable bag with you, and carry a mix-and-match 6-pack back home to drink on the patio. No need to dress up - this place is not fancy. But it is serious about beer.

Great beer and well-made cockails, good food (menu available from Sizzle Pie next door), and usually a funky music selection. Take a Lyft there from the house, and you'll be chilling out in no time! We like sitting at the bar, but there's additional seating upstairs and on the main floor, too.
