The Karri Lookout on the eastern side of Caves Road is an ideal spot to enjoy and photograph this amazing forest as it undulates across the valley.

It is also the place where in 1876 the Georgette sank and more than 50 survivors were dragged from the water by a woman on horseback: Grace Bussell aged sixteen and her companion Sam Isaacs.an indigenous farmhand saved fifty of the passengers but unfortunately when the vessel was first abandoned two women and five children were drowned. On a calm day you can still see the shadowy outline of the Georgette about 90 metres offshore.
