As the most southerly port in Great Britain it was originally developed as a harbour of refuge as this part of the Cornish coast line was infamous for wrecks in the days of sail. The SW coastal path from Somerset to Dorset passes through the town. The coast line here is best described as rugged and dramatic and a walk to the end of the long pier/harbour wall on a stormy day is best described as an experience!

The Star Inn at St Erth village is the nearest pub to the Studio. The Star is an ancient building and has has been serving ales to the local community for many hundreds of years. They serve a fine selection of local beers and are locally renowned for their stone baked pizzas which are very good indeed. Our favourite is the Cornish blue cheese pizza.
