Along U street and Florida ave, ( which is about 5-15 mins walking from the apartment depend on where you want to be), there are music venue U Hall, 9:30 club, Howard theatre, Lincoln Theatre, Atlantic Plumbing movie theater, Drag brunch at Nellies, LGBTQ bars (Uproar, Dirty Goose), Bar with great out door and roof such as the Brixton, Takoda, Right Proper Brewing Company.

This is the most trendy strip in DC in the past few years. And being right next to U street area, you will appreciate how walkable DC is.
This area is packed with nice restaurants. Price range can be very affordable to Michelin star. In Logan circle you can have a little nice picnic and hang out.
Bars and clubs around here are Black Cat, Barcelona, Sette Osteria, Trade, The Crown & Crow, Players Club, Black Whiskey and more
14th Street Northwest
14th Street NorthwestThis is the most trendy strip in DC in the past few years. And being right next to U street area, you will appreciate how walkable DC is.
This area is packed with nice restaurants. Price range can be very affordable to Michelin star. In Logan circle you can have a little nice picnic and hang out.

Still, you can find amazing restaurants and bar/club (with less hassle of reservations). Architect here are still very beautiful with Embassy Row is in the heart of it. During summer time, look for Embassy day where many of them open the doors for people to come in and visit

Dupont Circle
The older part of town (not too far from the apartment, you can walk there in 20-30 min). This used to be the hottest spot in town but it is on the quite side now. Still, you can find amazing restaurants and bar/club (with less hassle of reservations). Architect here are still very beautiful with Embassy Row is in the heart of it. During summer time, look for Embassy day where many of them open the doors for people to come in and visit
If you have been to the pier in San Francisco, this is Washington equivalent to it. Super expensive high end restaurants, beautiful outdoor area where you can look over Haines Point, huge music venue (the Anthem with capacity of 6000 people). Here you can also catch a free water taxi to Haines point or try some of the DC restaurant cruise (Odyssey and few others). Highly recommend but also crowded.

If you have been to the pier in San Francisco, this is Washington equivalent to it. Super expensive high end restaurants, beautiful outdoor area where you can look over Haines Point, huge music venue (the Anthem with capacity of 6000 people). Here you can also catch a free water taxi to Haines point or try some of the DC restaurant cruise (Odyssey and few others). Highly recommend but also crowded.

Another new trendy part of DC near the Anacostia River. The city has pour so much money in this area in the last year and in the process of converting an unuse bride to an elevated park. Very interesting and promising area.
Here you can find the national stadium, kayaking/paddle boarding (tho i dont think the water is super clean there, go to Georgetown), nice outdoor Dacha beer garden.

You can walk around and look at all pretty mansions, or go down near the river for lunch/dinner, or kayaking/paddleboarding (water is clean here especially if you go upstream). It is also an easy walk across the Key Bridge to get to Rosslyn, VA.
Nightlife is a bit boring here tho.

A must visit if you are into houses. Some people come here for shopping but outdoor activities are more fun. You can walk around and look at all pretty mansions, or go down near the river for lunch/dinner, or kayaking/paddleboarding (water is clean here especially if you go upstream). It is also an easy walk across the Key Bridge to get to Rosslyn, VA.
Nightlife is a bit boring here tho.
