This is a beautiful preserve made up if two former plantations. Botany Bay's beach is one of the most beautiful untouched beaches you will find. The beach is often called the Bone Yard some say because of the stand of dead trees in the ocean. You will discover perfect shells, fossils and sharks teeth. Please leave what you find. It is illegal to remove anything from Botany Bay.

I have done this with my kids and it was very memorable. We saw several of these magnificent creatures in the process of laying. The park has walking trails and on the island side you will find wildlife viewing areas.

Great spot for outdoor casual beach dining. The staff is always pleasant. My favorites are the hamburgers, fish sandwich and house made chips.

Flowers has the freshest seafood. Flowers also prepares seafood in the back. At is both a seafood market and takeaway. The market is open everyday but the food truck has varying hours. Pick up what you need to make a low country boil or call ahead and have your boil prepared for you.

This place is just around the corner from the house. About a city block away. I you want something a little nicer than casual beach fair you are in luck. You can take a little walk around the corner. I recommend a reservation.

Right next door to Ella and Ollies is their taco place. Very good tacos. Casual dining. You can walk here from the house. It is located about a block away. They have very limited hours.

This is my first stop when I get to the Island. Delicious ready made local dishes, dips, cheeses and local specialty food items. This is a must stop on your way to the house!
This is my favorite farm stand. I have been coming here since I was a kid and it was the only place to get fresh vegetables on the island, before we had a chain grocery. Another must see and do if you visit Edisto.

This has been renamed Marsh Hen Mill. This mill has the best grits and grains. The mill specializes in local. They have a great variety including ancient and specialty varieties. I highly recommend a stop here. Don't miss it it is right after you cross onto the island.

If you want to try your hand at crabing this is my favorite place. Come at low tide. Ace Hardware has all your needs for a fun day of trying to catch your dinner. Make sure to pick up some chicken or turkey necks from Food Lion.

This is our go to bike rental. They will drop off and pickup the bikes for you. If you call ahead the bikes will be waiting for you at the house when you arrive. This is also the best place to rent kayaks. Located on the river they have a dry launch and awesome guides. You are welcome to bring your own kayak for a nominal launch fee if you use the dry launch. You are not required to hire a guide in order to rent or launch from them. They are conveniently located across from the resorts main entrance.
