The Market town of Wimborne is lovely. A visit to the Minster itself is a must but in the town itself there are plenty of coffee shops. The full range of restaurants, wine bars and pubs, the Tivoli Theatre, a model town as well as national branded clothes shops. the house and gardens of Kingston Lacy House (NT) is just 3 miles from the town centre with the ancient Roman fort of Badbury rings nearby

The main beaches are very popular in the summer and you will need to travel a little further if you looking for a quieter spot. For example Knoll Beach. a National Trust property complete with beach side cafe and water sport activities. This can be accessed on a road trip taking in Corfe Castle or via the chain link ferry across the mouth of Poole Harbour.
