The church of Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes is a Catholic temple and parish of Costa Rica that is located in the city of Grecia, in the west of the country. It was built in 1840. It is a neo-gothic style construction, built entirely of iron. It is a national monument of the country.

The lush, unspoiled beauty of Grecia landscapes begs you to explore; you can start at nearby Los Chorros, a pair of natural waterfalls in a regional park. They’re an easy walk from the parking area, and worth the effort. If you do go exploring, be sure to get a good map and stick to it; not all roads are on the maps and it’s easy to get lost.

Poás volcano is a powerful symbol of the geothermal forces that formed Costa Rica. When the mist and clouds part you’ll see the sulfuric, bubbling, green rain fed lake at the bottom, surrounded by smoke and steam rising from fumaroles. Water from the lake is constantly seeping through cracks in the hot rock, evaporating and building pockets of steam.

The center of selling in Costa Rica's crafts center, this is the place most tourists head straight towards when they come to Sarchí to shop for crafts. The center houses more than 35 souvenir stores, as well as a number of cheap diners and snack shops. The most popular items on sale here are the handpained wooden oxcarts, which come in various sizes, but there are also other goods from all around the country.

In 1995, Zoo Ave was declared as a Wildlife Rescue Center. Zoo Ave brings in animals that have been injured or mistreated and provides them with the proper help they need in order to be released back into the wild. This center has made an impact in Costa Rica as it has housed and bred many different species such as the Scarlet Macaw, which are highly endangered.
Zoo Ave is the only place in all of Costa Rica that visitors are guaranteed to see the quetzal! This beautiful bird with its vibrant colorful body and long feathers is Zoo Aves main attraction! This rescue center also houses king African cranes, monkeys, sloths and many more!
