A beer bar with lots of tables and space (inside and outside), a great selection of beers, happy hours (5 to 8pm), and great food with large portions. Ideal to spend one hour or the whole night sampling the very large collection of beers, domestic and imported.

A wine bar serving organic wines exclusively. Great terrasse with other restaurants and options around, barely a 5 minute walk from the apartment. They also serve planchas of cheese and salami. Can be a bit pricey, but that little square is radiant in the late afternoon light.

This is one of the best bakeries of Lyon, up the colored stairs, a great place to get a morning baguette with a couple of pastries. They also make coffee to go. I recommend the baguette "tradition" with a "roulé au chocolat" or "roulé aux raisins" and, why not, a madeleine or two. Also make good sandwiches and lunches, although it goes real fast on weekdays. They accept credit cards from 1 euro. Closed on Sundays.

A great "bouchon" which will serve you delicious (and very copious) Lyonnais dishes. Like the traditional bouchon, no choice but to take the tâble d'hôte menu. Honest pricing and great cooking. Booking necessary. Come hungry!

Definitely the best place to shop for the next couple of meals, it offers fresh fish, fresh meat, fresh fuits and vegetables, and plenty of other amazing French delicacies. Best to go on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

A staple of the Croix-Rousse historic neighborhood, the Croix-Rousse food market has everything to cater for your tastebuds and nosetrils. Definitely the best place to shop for the next couple of meals, it offers fresh fish, fresh meat, fresh fuits and vegetables, and plenty of other amazing French delicacies. Best to go on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

A staple of Lyon life. Family and sport-friendly.

This is the closest station for the public bike rental service of Lyon called Velo'v. Download the app to register for the service, buy a plan, and see all the available stations. Very user-friendly with an English interface.

The main transport hub close to the apartment. Here you can catch the metro (line A) and many bus lines bringing you in various places around. Lots of Velov' stations scattered around the entrances. Tickets are bought inside with automatic machines (1,90 euro per ride).

A personal favorite. The newest Lyon museum has changing temporary exhibitions covering both ethnology and natural history. The location is right at the meeting point of the Saone and Rhone rivers. Family-friendly with lots to see on any given day. Do not miss going to the terrasse on the top floor. Easily accessible by bicycle or public transport (Tram T1 stop). Closed on Mondays, open late on Thursdays.

Sightseeing
Walking up to the Fourvière cathedral is a must-do. The interiors of the cathedral themselves are also unique. The view from the top is fantastic. The funicular railway brings you there from Vieux-Lyon metro station, but I personnally prefer walking up throught the park. Early in the morning, the sunrise can be beautiful!

There are so many city supermarkets around Terreaux that you will not go amiss of anything. I mention this one because it is open every day until 12pm, but is generally more expansive than others.
