One of the only 5 star restaurants in Utah. All food is grown and prepared at the restaurant and it's out of this world! Reservations are required in advance but the drive is lovely and the meal even better. Restaurant is open seasonally, approximately May-Thanksgiving.

If you want to eat with the locals, dine at the SunGlow. Cafe food at it's finest. For a local treat, try the pickle pie, oatmeal pie, or pinto bean pie. Our family always makes it a point to have breakfast there during our stay.

Casual dining with a gorgeous view of the red cliffs. They offer an outdoor patio and indoor seating is cozy, especially the tables that have "Grandpa" looking on. Food and service are terrific.

Bicknell made it's mark on the foody map when the Food Network featured Bhindas Curry Pizza Palace's specialties, Honey Curry Pizza and Curry Pizza, on Guy Fieri's Diners | Drive-ins | Dives (premiered January 4th, 2019).
Curry Pizza has an eclectic menu, will deliver, AND they are open late (until 10 PM on week nights and 11 PM on the weekends). The Indian dishes are surprisingly good, you won't be disappointed!

The best kept secret in Utah. If hiking, we enjoy hiking during the fall and winter months the most. Capitol Reef's high desert location offers mild winters making it the ideal temperature for hiking.
Named after the famous Butch Cassidy, Cassidy Arch is located in the central portion of Capitol Reef National Park. The arch is spectacular, sitting 400 feet above the Scenic Drive and Grand Wash Trail. The climb is steep, but well worth the visit.

This is the world's oldest organism, a grove of Populus tremuloides (Quaking Aspen) sharing one root system, located in Fish Lake National Forest. Take time to see this endangered site.

STAR GAZING. Dark night skies are a diminishing resource due to light pollution. Capitol Reef and the surrounding communities have been designated as part of the International Dark Sky Places Program.
FISHING / BIRD WATCHING / DUCK HUNTING. The wetlands of the Bicknell Bottoms offer some of the best fishing in the state of Utah with a wide variety of birds to observe. It's a favorite among locals for duck hunting season.

The Aquarius offers the latest as well as an eclectic selection of DVD and VHS rentals. Local resident, Emil and his wife own and operate the hotel and video store. If you don't want to run into Loa and the liquor store is closed, the Aquarius is one of the few places one can purchase beer.

The cutest movie theater in America! Movies are shown Fridays and Saturdays, with expanded days offered during the summer months. You can purchase dinner, coffee, as well as the typical movie go-to items such as popcorn and soda.

Fruita is an oasis of lush fruit orchards where visitors can pick their own varieties of fruit, depending on the season. You pay for what you take and fruit ladders are available.
Fruita also offers several pioneer homesteads visitors can peek into and catch a glimpse of what life was like 200 years ago.
My favorite spot in Fruita are the petroglyphs left behind by the Freemont Indians.

The Gifford farm lies in the heart of the Fruita valley. The original home was built in 1908 by polygamist Calvin Pendleton. Dewey Gifford later purchased the home in 1928 where he and his family resided for 41 years.
The former kitchen has been converted into a Natural History Association sales outlet. Items for sale include reproduction utensils and household tools used by the Mormon pioneers. A wide selection of books, historic postcards, jams, jellies, as well as locally baked fruit pies are also available.

The two short trails offer a quick jaunt (0.7 miles) to Sunset Point and even shorter walk to the Goosenecks Overlook. Both trails lead to breathtaking views of Sulphur Creek as it snakes its way through the canyon.

The Wayne Community Health Center offers both medical and dental services as well as an on-site pharmacy. Non-locals are required to pay in full for their services and are provided the forms to submit to their insurance company so they may be reimbursed. For major emergencies, the center has a helipad to transport patients to the closest city.
