The best jelly rolls sort of dessert, in Spanish "Brazo Gitano" in an incredible assortment of flavors including mango, guava, pineapple and much more. They prepare other treats. My favorite, if you are lucky enough to catch some, are called "Yemitas". It is a soft vanilla cake covered with a sweet smelling icing made with egg yolks. They also serve daily lunch and is a good place to buy Puerto Rican crafts and edibles, including sangría made in Puerto Rico. Our town's famous sangría is Fido.

They serve great coffee which you may want to accompany with a fresh corn or blueberry muffin, the best! They always have brownies and other pastries. They started as a sandwich shop and the variety is unbelievable. To this date they also serve freshly cooked meals.

This is a Cuban and Puerto Rican cuisine that has served the community for many years. Although in the city the atmosphere is countryside, quiet old and well kept. The food variety is exquisite to the taste.

They serve lunch, dinner, and appetizers "Tapas, or small plates" that some people even prefer so as to taste a larger variety of food. This is a place to go with no rush.
With specialties in all sorts of seafood, the place has always been committed to authenticity and good service. It's rustic, has some wood work and a few of the tables are next to the crystal windows overlooking the ocean. A worthy experience!

Not a traditional market, but they are in a small wooden shop off the street to prepare "frapes" made of fresh fruit. Sometimes people make a line to wait for theirs.

Kaytie is a cake's cheff and has a coffee shop of prime quality, a very cute place to spend an hour chatting. You may bring with you a small cake or just taste a piece at the shop. I highly recommend this place.

I have lately liked the appetizers selection at Applebee's plus they compete well with Chili's on the desserts category. You may enjoy the salads and the freshly cooked or roasted foods.

With an over-the-counter ordering style, the prices are much cheaper, partly because they have a large clientele of students and are located right across from the University of Puerto Rico. They have plasma tv's to watch while you wait and eat. You can request the food to go or sit at a table.

It offers an assortment of seafood, white meats and red meats. Hacienda Latina also has a pretty ample selection of liquors.

The park was prepared along with other installations and the remodeling of the baseball stadium, the Isidoro García, to receive the multitude of the Mayagüez 2010 Central American Sport Games. The park runs along the coast line and has different structures and equipment such as children's outdoor's gym area with slides and seesaw rocker, a skate board rink and others, but above all it is a beautiful trails project that attracts equally the serious athletes and the amateurs. As all parks are public and due to a particular housing project I recommend visiting it after the sunrise and before the dusk, preferably in company of someone else.
