While Mudhen isn't nearby (or at least not walking distance), it's our favorite restaurant in Dallas so of course it makes the list. Mudhen is located in the Dallas Farmer's Market and has IMO the best brunch in town and an awesome patio! Be sure to get the chocolate mousse if you go for dinner. (Gluten free menu available.)

While Mudhen isn't nearby (or at least not walking distance), it's our favorite restaurant in Dallas so of course it makes the list. We love the Dallas Arboretum. It's the perfect spot to walk through acres of beautiful landscape (with or without kids), catch a live music concert at sunset (Cool Thursdays), or relax with a good book. They even have a Children's Garden with tons of kid-friendly attractions.

This is the local park we frequent the most with our kids. It's walking distance to White Rock Lake and has a great trail that connects right to the lake.
