Kisko Gacía, his chef, makes a wonderful mixture between tradition and contemporary cuisine, to give his plates a casual touch as well as refined. It´s ideal for tapas and beer.

This the most emblematic winery in Málaga. It opened its doors in 1840. Its owner was Isabel´s II wine supplier (I mean queen of Spain between 1843-70) If you want to drink a good wine with tapas in a traditional bar, this is a good place.

A good site to enjoy informal social life. It offers cheap and traditional tapas like potato omelettes, anchovies, small sandwiches called "montaditos"... The people from Málaga are the first ones to come here to drink some beer or wine day or night alike, as if it was a pub, because it´s open till 2:00 am from Monday to Saturday.

This place functioned at its beginings as a spa, early twenty century. It´s located in an exceptional site by the seaside. It has incredible views of Malaga´s bay. It was recently reformed to make it more touristic. Such a pity for some, even more for the bohemians and hippies from Málaga who think it has lost its tumbledown charm.

Mithic shellfish bar. It´s a pleasure to eat here while listening copla, folk spanish songs. Caution, because this stablishment sometimes is very crowded and it is really small. Anyway it deserves a visit. I personally had lot of fun there.

Drinks & Nightlife

This establishment is offering gigs since 90´s. Is something rare, since that date, to have in Málaga a venue for life music which function every single day as a pub too. If you like blues, soul, indie or rock-and-roll...yeah! Sometimes is too crowded, so better go on weekdays.

Sightseeing

After the siege in 1487, the Catholic Monarchs went through the medina and the first thing they did was consecrate the mosque as a church. Since that date until XVIII century, the church has been in constant evolution. So you´ll see a patio with islamic references of the old mosque, then the gothic door of Sagrario Church; at last the cathedral is renaissance style and barroque. A splendid synthesis in our "Manquita" cathedral ( which means "one-armed" ).

The Alcazaba rises up from the hill and ends in Gibralfaro Castle. Both constructions were cleverly well connected by two winding defensive walls called "Coracha". The alcazaba, headquarter of the muslim governors, was also home of their families and servants since XI until XV century. The castle Gibralfaro crown the mountain. It was used to harbour troops and to protect Alcazaba. The panoramic view here is amazing.
