Arriving from Waverley Train Station and walking to the house is relatively easy. There is a tram stop at York Place at the top of Broughton Street with a direct connection to the Airport. Escape to Monkstadt 1745 and experience one of Skye's most historic homes in the peaceful setting of the Trotternish Peninsula Monkstadt was involved in one of the greatest pieces of Scottish history as Bonnie Prince Charlie came ashore after fleeing Uist in 1746 and hid in a cave only a few hundred yards from the house. The owners of the house at the time, Lady Margaret MacDonald and Flora MacDonald, helped him to evade capture from the Red Coats which meant he eventually escaped back to France

Neptune

Room Neptune, named after Neptune's Staircase, sleeps 2 people (king size bed or twin beds) and offers an en-suite shower room. This room can be joined together with the Nessie room to create a larger suite, suitable for a family or group. We are also dog friendly are happy to welcome well behaved pets with responsible owners. We will even provide a bed for the extra family member. (There is an additional charge of £20 per pet).

Entire Apartment & gardens, close to Seaham Beach

Enjoy a stylish experience at this convenient place. 5 minutes' walk to Ryhope Beach, 3 minutes' drive to Seaham Beach. Close to A19. 1 minute's walk to bus stops leading to Sunderland city centre, Durham, Seaham, Dalton Park... Bar and restaurant are next door in the property (temporarily closed, sept 2023 -further notice) . Access to front patio. Back garden accessible at restaurant opening times.
