Wonderful and quaint little home. It felt like we were staying at a friend’s house and not at an Airbnb. Everything was spotlessly clean, including all the nicknacks, which I was impressed by! Would stay there again next time we are in Bakewell. One thing that is 100% not her fault but future guests should be aware of: we have O2 and Vodaphone mobile providers and 4G coverage was very spotty in the house and around town in general. If I were staying there again, I would purchase the EE WiFi on the first night that is available in the house and just plan on using that for my visit.

Rachael has a top AirBnB rating because her place is superbly located and thoughtfully set-up. The cottage is very light, spacious, super comfortable and clean, and has all that you could want for a relaxing stay. Standout details are the list of walks and places to eat and drink, the views from the house, the really well equipped kitchen – and not forgetting Rachael’s greeting with a tin of home baked brownies, 2 ponies and 2 dogs! And the stag with antlers running in the next field… We will be booking our next stay at Rachael and Gerry’s cottage soon and hope to book the neighbouring Stables Cottage and superb looking cabin too for a visit with family.

Fantastic little place with modular features that utilised the space really well. Especially enjoyed the rooftop terrace. All in all, a really comfortable stay. Soozey/Jen communicated excellently throughout which made the experience all the better. Would highly recommend.

Nice little Cottage on a quiet road. Parking is in a free car park opposite (the host provides a permit to put on your dashboard). It’s a small cottage but had everything we needed. The TV has Netflix etc. The stairs are quite tight, so probably not good for people with reduced mobility. Upstairs the property has a single and double bedroom with a bathroom in the middle. Each bedroom has a door into the bathroom which is a great idea. The cottage is 2 mins from the pubs, cafes and shops etc. There is a carpark with EV chargers 2mins walk away. Overall a great place and town to visit.

A beautiful cottage, with a charming layout, making the most of the fantastic views. We could have sat watching the views for hours and were only sorry we didn't have more time to enjoy the terrace! It was well appointed and felt very homely. We loved how convenient it was for walking into Matlock Bath (only 5 minutes) with its fish and chip shops, ice cream parlours, amusements and lovely riverside walk and 2 play parks. What a great location for us as a family and it was very handy to be able to leave the car at the house and walk to the cable cars for the Heights of Abraham. We appreciated the milk and tin of chocolate biscuits. One tip for anyone who visits is to park at the top of the house, and not take the car around to the front of the house to save having to reverse up the steep hill as the road at the bottom has now been cordoned off. Absolutely gorgeous place set on a working farm. Beautiful surroundings! Every morning we were greeted by lambs and at night it was so peaceful. Everywhere we wanted to go was within 30 mins or less which was perfect for us. Even though you are staying on someone’s property it felt completely private. Dog bowls were left out for our dogs as well and we felt very welcome. Thanks so much Faye! We can’t wait to come back ☺️

Lovely cottage in a good location. Spent Easter weekend here with my two sons and the property was very comfortable and had everything we needed as did the town of Wirksworth. Great base for exploring the area.

Great hosts and an amazing property. A beautiful location with great views over the village. The scullery had everything we needed and was a beautiful place to stay. Peter and Emma were very friendly and helpful. They made us feel at home and provided great advice. We had a great welcome and had an amazing stay. We highly recommend staying at the scullery and would come back here again.
