The cottage was absolutely lovely, cosy and welcoming, everything you needed, home from home. I wanted to get away from it all and this property certainly provided me with a great location to explore the coast, lovely walks with my dog and was so quiet, it was heaven. If you want to hear real stillness and nature at its best, this is the place for you. The Bed was really comfy with good showering facilities, couldn’t fault it. Simon and Jo very helpful and friendly, introduced themselves to me. I will be back soon. I was just wondering if What three words would help re location as I did struggle with locating the property. I rarely ever write reviews but this one was too amazing not to. Everything from the small details for my sister's birthday to the place blew us away. It's like a small paradise & completely unique. Lovely modern apartment with good facilities. Comfy beds and nice to have 2 bathrooms. We found the walk into town a bit too much so used taxis which were very reasonably priced. Ate at Little Sicily one night, following a review seen on Airbnb. Good food, very reasonable. Ate at Uno Momento in town also, which we highly recommend. Thank you for the wine that greeted us upon arrival!

Clean and well maintained property. It was such a quiet neighborhood, we almost felt we were the only ones around. Walk to the beach or to town was easy. Instructions from Cate were clear and prompt. We LOVED the instruction booklet provided on how to use everything including appliances and fireplace. Would suggest an additional note about how to lock the door :) as I had a bit of trouble at first before figuring it out. The only odd thing about this place is the main level bathroom, in particular the shower, it's not separate so water goes everywhere when using it, so we used the upstairs shower exclusively.

Granary Lodge in a great location for visiting Yorkshire, spotlessly clean well equipped warm and welcoming, much appreciated welcome pack provided by Jane. We enjoyed it so much we have booked to return in june

This was everything I was looking for in a solo retreat. I felt right at home, everything was already set up so didn't need to faf about. The accommodation was pristine and emaculant so no issues about worrying if I need to clean before setting up. When checking in, there is no reception in the area but luckily check in instructions were clear which made it soo much easier.

Peaceful quiet location. Near train station. Clean . Generally well equipped, although a few bits of cutlery and crockery missing but nothing major. Comfortable beds, pillows not to my personal preference as very hard, but overall an excellent stay and I would not hesitate to stay again and would recommend.

We were staying up there for my Sons wedding , then we stayed on a little over Christmas to see the children . The Ubers are amazing and I just downloaded the app ‘Uber eats ‘ as well and they can do a shop for you from the Coop ,Sainsbury’s and Tesco and more . Uber travel was very good and reasonable . Area of house is great for Newcastle , Durham or Bernard castle area . Rooms are a good size , beds comfortable. Walking for elderly parents was nice and they increased their fitness immensely , as the fresh air has helped them along with the trips to the countryside which is all around . Very Clean throughout . Comfy sofa and large chair. Great for a family . Garden is enclosed and very safe . Rachel has been a very kind host , and fast to respond to any querys , I would recommend the area and the home , the locals are friendly and there’s a Tesco express which has a bit of everything , in walking distance . Warm and welcoming, banister on stairs plenty of cupboards . A*

Seldom is where we stay one of the highlights of our trip, but this townhouse definitely was. It was absolutely amazing. It was warm and comfortable after coming in from our chilly all day excursions. The beds were comfortable, the house extremely clean and the amenities absolute perfection.

great historic cottage well located for town and for touring the wider area. free parking (if busy). All functioned very well and hosts are very helpful.

A lovely stay in this amazing little bolthole in beautiful, characterful Yorkshire. The value for money is, quite frankly, ridiculously good. Anthony is very friendly, helpful and welcoming and we got the impression that both he and Jane really do care about their guests. Small extras like a crockpot, an air fryer and coffee machine are all so useful and make the place feel like a home -from-home. Having a washer & dryer makes everything so easy too - and surprised us for the low price! Everything is very clean too! Parking was easy with the permit and we felt like everything was straightforward and hassle-free. Area is handy for tourists too - Whitby is 30 mins drive away, Robin Hood’s Bay at around 40 mins abc Scarborough at 60 mins. Thank you so much, Anthony and Jane, we’ll be back!

This is a great place to stay, right on the marina walking distance from many good restaurants and a great place to just take a stroll. Graham was always there to answer questions before we arrived. Everything in the Condo is well marked, he has all of the user manuals for all of the appliances and such. Notes conveniently placed so that you understand what is going on and how things work. We stayed for a whole month and was well worth the money for the stay. Would definitely stay in this condo again.

I stayed in Gary's lovely flat for a week. I wanted to spend several days visiting the Auckland project, and use the buses to visit places of interest such a Durham and Stanhope and Barnards Castle. The location, in the main street, opposite the bus stop, suited me perfectly. It was a 10 minutes walk down to the Market Square and Auckland Palace, the Tower, the Park and museums and galleries, and 5 mins walk up the street to Morrisons. Gary and Fiona very kindly met me off the train and helped me with my luggage introduced me in person to the flat

Great location, good base for exploring area, trains, buses etc. Flat had all I needed, wanted for nothing, comfortable, warm. Overall peaceful but near lots of pubs, bar, market etc

Great apartment for me and my family's bank holiday weekend stay. I was there for the 5-Dales sportive. the apartment was very spacious, had great decor, clean and set in beautiful surroundings. Would be staying there again if we are in the area.

Great flat and location! The local area was lovely, nice walks, pub opposite and shop next door. The flat was an ideal location for exploring neighbouring towns and walking areas. The flat was exactly as described on the listing and Chris’ communication throughout the stay was great
