Let our cozy cottage be your home-base for all your mountain adventures. For mtn biking, you will be minutes away from the trails at Lees-McRae College as well as the bike parks at Sugar and Beech Mountains during the summer. In the winter, you'll have several skiing and snow tubing options within a few miles as we are within 10-15 minutes to Beech or Sugar. Wildcat lake is at the bottom of our street. Bring your fishing gear or kayaks/stand-up boards!

Escape to a cozy, secluded mountain cabin less than 1 mile from Sugar Mountain Resort! Enjoy beautiful mountain views, central A/C, plenty of level parking, and easy access on one of the first roads plowed after snowfall. Ski, shop, hike, or simply relax by the fire. Well-mannered dogs welcome—$231 for up to 2 dogs (no cats). Seasonal ski shuttle available with limitations. Early check-in/late checkout may be available for $50.

Sunbear Cabin - Cycling/Hiking/Flyfishing

Surrounded on three sides by the Pisgah National Forest with a long-range mountain view from the deck, adventure awaits right outside the door. Sunbear also has high-speed internet for remote work and a backup generator. Cooler months offer backcountry hiking along creeks chocked with waterfalls off the eastern flank of the cabin. Summer features wildlife, Fireflies, and a nice quiet place to escape the summer heat.

Our Cabin is brand new as of the end of August 2017. My place is close to Ski Sugar (2 miles), Ski Beech (6 miles), Grandfather Mtn, Boone, Blowing Rock, Tweetsie Railroad, Blue Ridge Parkway. You’ll love my place because it's Nested in the Lush surroundings of the Blue Ridge Mtns. Our cabin offers all the comforts of your own home combined with the beauty and serenity of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Byrd's Eye View welcomes your furry family members as well. ($65 pet fee. Maximum of two pets allowed.)
