It is built in the heritage vernacular Cape style which is encouraged in McGregor and so makes this peaceful village special . It lies in the wine lands surrounded by mountains and nature reserves . It lies at the end of the ‘road to nowhere’ where the popular mountain hike curves through hills , passing a refreshing mountain pool where one can cool off before reaching Greyton.
