We really enjoyed our time here as it’s close to everything in a quiet neighborhood that offered great views! We loved seeing and reading all the Alaskan books provided. It was a perfect space to spend time with family while not enjoying the outdoors.

Captain Bill and his place were wonderful! Clean and nice place. Anything we needed, he provided - including some tools he let me borrow to fix some of my broken personal equipment. Highly recommend!

Perfect place to stay. Highlights are couch, TV, kitchen, walkable to food and karaoke. This is w 11/10 rental. Highly recommended.

We had a great stay at Diane’s place in Valdez! It was clean, cozy, and very comfortable. Super conveniently located just 5 minutes from town and an easy drive to Thompson pass where we were spending our time. Couldn’t be happier with the rental, would definitely stay again!

An absolute gem of a spot for any backcountry adventure to Thompson Pass! This cozy cabin-style home is not only beautifully tucked away just outside Valdez, but also perfectly situated for early alpine starts and post-tour hot meals. Plenty of space to comfortably host a big crew — from gear-drying zones to shared meals and laughter-filled evenings. Thomas was a stellar host: responsive, thoughtful, and clearly takes pride in maintaining a welcoming and well-appointed home. Would absolutely stay again!

Love, love, love the character and history of the home! There is so much to look at in every nook and cranny! We really enjoyed our stay and felt welcome. Part of what makes it so unique is the lived in feel. It’s worth mentioning that there are some spots which could use a good deep cleaning, and it definitely has a musty “old” smell…and although it did not bother me, I could see that for some, that could be off-putting. I would most definitely stay here again and really appreciate the timely messages from the host!
