Great place to come to picnic, fishing off a dam, swimming hole and hike the self guided nature trail. Playground on site.

Beautiful State Park 25 miles from the vacation home. Offers several recreational activites including, self guided tours, hiking, horse trails, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing.

You won't regret the time you spend in nature. Kathio has hiking bicycle and walking paths as well as snowmobile horseback riding trails. They offer Snowshoe and ski rentals and in the summer canoe and kayak rentals. Visit interpretive Center 4 special features, historical artifacts, archaeological digs and more. Children's playground picnic area and grills man-made lake for swimming and River for fishing. Check calendar for events. Oh and don't forget to climb The Hundred-Foot Fire Tower that looks over the entire area including Milacs Lake. Especially when the Fall colors come out

On the west end of Mille Lacs Lake, this park offers a sand bottom pool/beach, lots of hiking and a wonderful fire tower you can climb to get sweeping views of the whole area.

One of Minnesota's largest state parks. Extensive hiking/skiing trails, fishing access, fire tower, archeology sites, and natural history interpretation. A MN State Park pass is required for entry.
