It’s exciting cycling along the canal here with my daughter on the front of my bike. There’s a skate park and two imaginative playgrounds, one for younger kids and one with big slides (put sand on to make them faster!). In summer try the splash pool, fishing, boating lake, gigs at the bandstand, and puppet shows. Make a day of it by starting with scrambled eggs or Sri Lankan breakfast of coconut pancakes with chutneys at the child-friendly Pavilion Cafe nearby, or buy picnic stuff from the shops on Lauriston Road and set up lunch as soon as the kids are hungry.

Gorgeous big park, with food markets on Sundays and a great cafe open every day.
This is the biggest park in East London with many amenities and green spaces.
Huge, beautiful park next to the canal. Great for running, cycling, walking, picnics, BBQs and pedal boating.
Amazing park for all ages - park, picnics, tennis courts, football, cricket, pubs, skate park, plenty of grass area for dog walking.

“Market on Saturdays, lovely to visit the market and go for a nice stroll in the park afterwards.”

“Must see. East London’s vibrant Sunday flower market is a local favourite. Here, you can barter with market stall merchants for everything from houseplants and fresh bouquets to succulents and seeds. Columbia Road is well worth a visit from Monday to Saturday, too: the lack of Sunday crowds leaves you free to wander the street’s many independent businesses, including art galleries, antique stores, homeware boutiques and even an old-school sweet shop. Sun: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm”

“Wonderful place to catch a movie. Has a restaurant with decent snacks. People just hang out. Their little 'Lounge' cinema has some pretty unique features and documentaries on. Half price tickets o Mondays!”
