Bed & breakfasts in Tōkai Region

Yuu-san welcomed me for the New Years holidays even though I made a reservation in the last moment. He and his family are very kind and welcoming. I enjoyed exploring the traditional New Year's meals and the musical selection every morning :) This artistic home is in a peaceful countryside area and great if you need to disconnect and find your creativity. Thank you for your hospitality!

What a beautiful traditional Japanese home to stay We totally loved the old house, beautiful decorations, the inner courtyard and our room. Everything was perfect! Chieri is a great host, we felt very welcomed and home right away. We were on a road trip, so we also enjoyed that we could wash our clothes. And we tried out the traditional japanese bath. Perfect! Chieri, thank you for everything! Hope to see you someday again!

I had an amazing stay. The host truly cares about making your stay as good as possible. I cannot recommend highly enough. The surrounding area makes for some great exploration and hiking, which id always finish off by relaxing at the onsen (there were both indoor and outdoor). I hope to be back one day!

Hisashi's place was our first experience in Airbnb, and it was very peaceful and smooth and nice. Hisashi help us for everything and we had a great breakfast there. If you want to see Fuji mnt. This place definitely works ❤️

雖然距離車站有一點距離，不過正因為是住宅區，所以非常寧靜，對於白天耗盡體力的旅客來說，可以在此獲得充足休息（對面有7-11，買東西方便）；房東很熱情並主動提出協助，時間可以搭配的話能前往車站接送，恢復訊息也很快。最後，感謝昨晚推薦我去當地泡湯的地方，泡完之後讓我一夜好眠。希望下次有機會再來玩☺️

A pure sanctuary to relax and rejuvenate. The location is at the top of beautiful and quiet Koyodai. The combination of the warmth of Sachiyo’s and Justin’s hospitality and the impeccable design of their home and the meals unmatched in terms of quality of ingredients and flavor was perfection. I am grateful for the simple touches of care and creativity each day. I felt welcome and so happy. I look forward to seeing them again. My heartfelt thanks go out to them.

Wir wurden gleich vor dem Haus bei unserer Ankunft erwartet und in Haus und Kyoto eingeführt. Man darf von der Unterkunft natürlich keinen Luxus erwarten, aber es hat sein Versprechen, ein traditionelles japanisches Haus zu sein, voll erfüllt, so dass wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt haben. Das Teilen des Bades mit den Besitzern war nie ein Problem, es stand uns immer zur Verfügung. Das Zimmer selbst ist sehr geräumig und ruhig. Die Gegend war Spitze, mit dem Bahnhof Katsura ist man schnell im Zentrum Kyotos und meidet dabei sogar den unübersichtlichen Hauptbahnhof in Kyoto. In der Bahnhofstrasse West (nenne es mal so) gab es ein Café, dass wir ab sieben Uhr zum Frühstücken besuchten (Oak Food). Östlich von Katsura Station gibt es eine Reihe von traditionellen Lokalen, von denen wir das 焼肉 おもに besucht haben. Hervorragendes, auf feinster Holzkohle am Tisch gegrilltes Fleisch (glaube, es heisst Yakiniku) in einem einfachen Gasthaus. Achtung, durch das Grillen ist das Lokal stark verraucht.

食事も部屋も大満足でした。初回利用だったのですが、宿までのアクセスの説明であったり、到着後のコミュニケーションもとても丁寧で気持ちよかったです。 また機会があれば宿泊させていただきたいです。

This guest house is will be the best choice. The host tommy is very kind and mindful. He speaks english very well, so someone who didn't speak japanese will be satified. Also, the domitory bed was very nice. It's cozy and comfotable. And Tommy will give you breakfast If you request. The toast was tasty. I recommend this guest house, you will not regret your choice. Our host did a great job taking care of us! Although we didn’t speak Japanese he communicated through google translate and got to know us a bit. The surrounding area was great at the views were amazing! Definitely take time to walk around the area. Highly recommend

Albeit brief, this was my favorite stay of my entire Japan trip. The hosts were incredibly friendly and always proactive in making sure we felt at home not just in our accommodation but also in Kyoto and the lovely and peaceful neighborhood the townhome resides in. They made sure to follow up every question we had and made sure we were able to travel and make our next destination smoothly. We had some stressful travel beforehand, but they were extremely flexible in made our trip much easier. Also their cute daily breakfast was delicious and every single room had so much personality. It has a shared common space and bathroom but it never felt inconvenient and also allows you to get a one of a kind experience in Kyoto. The price was also incredibly reasonable and a great value. I look forward to returning next time I’m in town!

Chiyako-san was a wonderful host. Very warm and welcoming. We felt very much at home. Her house was lovely in a pretty rural setting. There was plenty to do nearby and Chiyako-san gave good suggestions and even picked us up/dropped us off at the station. Thank you, Chiyako-san!

I really enjoyed staying at Hide-san's property as it was conveniently located next to tourist attractions spots and had good access to transport links to other attractions. The room I stayed in also had a very authentic Japanese style design, which gave me the traditional Japanese experience I was looking for. Hide-san also showed me great hospitality and I enjoyed the many conversations that we had. The breakfast made by Hide-san also tasted really nice and it had a very homely feel to it. Overall, I'd recommend this property if you're looking for an authentic and traditonal Japanese experience in Kyoto. If I come to Japan again then I'll make future reservations at this property.

반려견을 데리고 1개월동안 외국으로 여행가보는 건 처음인데다 출발 하기 전 과정도 순탄치 않았기때문에 강아지와 둘이 잘 다닐 수 있을까 걱정을 많이 했었는데, 그런 걱정이 무색하게도 유키에&케빈씨가 이것저것 많이 챙겨주셔서 여행 내내 정말로 즐거웠습니다😊 숙소를 일반적인 맨션이나 호텔로 잡았다면 없었을 추억도 많이 생겨서 너무나 감사하게 생각하고 있습니다! 공항까지, 역까지 여행내내 차로 픽업해주시고 매일 맛있는 식사도 챙겨주셔서 너무 감사했어요 마을의 모두도 친절하고 상냥하셔서 강아지와 함께 일본의 시골을 잔뜩 만끽하고 왔고 사람 많고 번잡한 관광보다 자연과 함께하는 조용하고 여유로운 여행을 더 선호하는 편이라 더더 좋았어요☺️ 새로운 키즈나 하우스도 기대하고 있으니 집의 수리가 끝나게 되면 꼭 초대해주세요💓 두분 다 건강 잘 챙기시고 다시 만나게 되는 날까지 즐거운 일만 가득하시길 바라겠습니다🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️ 코스모쨩, 히나쨩도 건강하게 잘 지내!!

I had a fantastic stay at this Airbnb in Kyoto! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready to help out with any questions or needs. The location is great – it’s about a 10-15 minute walk to the nearest station and equally close to popular spots like Sanjo and Nishiki Market, making it easy to explore the area. One of the highlights of my stay was definitely the breakfast. It wasn’t just a standard continental breakfast – each morning, they prepared a full, delicious spread for every guest, which was such a treat to start the day. You could really feel the care and effort they put into making everyone feel at home. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed. The only minor issue was the washer and dryer, which are a bit dated. The dryer took a while to dry a half load, so I’d recommend doing smaller loads or planning laundry for when you have some time to hang out. Overall, I loved my stay here and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting!
