A beautiful, well-built home on the river. Inside was clean and comfortable, but outside was where we spent most of our time: wrap-around porch, hammock, and sitting by the river. Next time we will bring fly fishing gear. The location was about 20 minutes outside of town on a scenic drive through the country. There was poor cell phone reception there, but that's probably what most guests want--to be disconnected from the business of life. One warning for future guests: this home has some intense motion-sensor lights for security. It's a rude awakening in the middle of the night, but it's fun to watch a family of raccoons waddle across the yard!

The place was perfect for connecting with friends. Comfortable beds with super soft linens. Private, quiet location, with beautiful views from the porch. You will need to drive to stores and/or restaurants, nothing is within walking distance. Great place to unplug, but has all the modern conveniences.

Easy 5/5 stars. Will be my go to spot for travel through Durango.

I cannot say enough great things about this place. I've stayed at numerous places in Colorado over my lifetime, and this one has to be the best. The location was ideal for us, and the place was fantastic. The views, the huge deck with an amazing hot tub, the spacious living area with enough seating for all 6 of us (and then some), the most amazingly stocked kitchen of any rental - the list goes on and on. The entire host team responded quickly and gave us local recommendations, as well. My father-in-law is already talking about bringing the grandkids next year! My dad told me several times a day what a great find I made. We all loved it so much and can't wait to return! Thanks for a great week!

This cabin was the perfect winter getaway! Located just a short drive from Purgatory Ski Resort, it’s nestled in a peaceful, secluded setting surrounded by beautiful trees and plenty of snow. The cozy cabin had everything we needed for a relaxing stay, and the serene atmosphere made it feel like a true escape. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet retreat with easy access to the slopes!

Our family of four truly enjoyed our time at Joe’s place. We could not have asked for a better place to come back to after a day of skiing. The house had absolutely everything that we needed, was clean, and very comfortable.

Loris place was absolutely fenommenal! We loved our stay there!! The cabin was clean, we love everything there the jacuzzi the bed in master bedroom, the views.

we had an amazing few days of rest and relaxation. The house was absolutely beautiful with this gigantic stone fireplace. we had a roaring fire in it each night and it was really awesome!

Awesome place to stay, very quiet and peaceful with beautiful view. Also well stocked with standard items like paper towels and dishes. Beautiful drive into telluride too!

Absolutely loved our stay. Steve was very friendly and offered many suggestions that made our weekend perfect. Cayenne was adorable. She made herself at home with us and our dog Bubba. We already miss her!

Wow what a sweet location! We lived the privacy, setting, and quiet country ambiance. We had everything we needed and the guest house is quite comfortable. Also loved having horses next door, a creek, and turkeys roaming around. We would book again!

My husband and I had so much fun last year at Amy's place, we had to come back! We love winter activities, so if you are looking for a private little getaway to do some hiking, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, or XC skiing, this is the place for you! I also love that this little cabin, although remote, has all the amenities you need to be comfortable just as if you were home. I have a very demanding job which requires me to work even on vacation, so I really appreciated the fast and reliable WiFi so I could check email and stay plugged in. The furnished kitchen came with all the necessary cooking essentials and appliances to make our trip easy. All we had to bring was a cooler of food. The cabin even comes furnished with a TV, washer and dryer, so you can pack light! Amy has always done a great job communicating with us and has been so helpful keeping us apprised of the snow report leading up to our trip. This is a must-visit location! We'll be coming back!

This place was so beautiful and perfect for our family reunion. They were quick to respond to us and incredibly helpful! They let us check out a little later which was very nice of them. All in all great stay!

We had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful cabin in the woods, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, it was evident that the host really goes above and beyond to make their guests feel welcome. The cabin itself was spotless, cozy, and had everything we could possibly need for a peaceful and relaxing retreat. The views were nothing short of breathtaking—surrounded by nature, it was the perfect place to unwind and reconnect with the outdoors.

Cabin is as described. Great location with a beautiful view. Rocking on the porch is heavenly. Great communication with the host.

Don was personable and proactive from the very get-go, helping us to feel secure and welcome even months ahead of time. The location itself was beautiful, with a view of the lake from the firepit, firewood provisions overflowing. There were neighbors nearby, but it was still a private and relatively large piece of beautiful personal property. Our kids loved the firepit, the hammock, the canoes (life jackets provided). Inside, we were greeted with a space that felt luxurious, outdoorsy, and "home-y." The kitchen had all high-quality amenities (save a dishwasher). Hot and cold water, all was from a filtered well that was drinkable. The livingroom was surprisingly spacious, with a fireplace that loved sitting by morning an evening. There were hundreds of DVDs, books, and even family boardgames. The entire house shone it's proud history with outdoorsy keepsakes, 100 year old newspapers, paintings. The beds were all incredibly comfortable; It was the best sleep I'd had in months.

We love staying here! we have been several times in the summer but this was our first winter trip. absolutely beautiful! They let us use some of their ice skates so my daughter and I could skate on the lake and let my husband borrow some bait for his ice fishing. Very generous and friendly! we will definitely be back again and again!

The cabin is really nice and a lot bigger than expected. Location was perfect and amazing backyard. Little light pollution made for great star gazing.

This was the perfect spot! It was 10 min away from purgatory ski resort and 30 min away from Durango for shopping! My family absolutely loved it and would stay again. The only note I have is if you are traveling with a baby do not sleep on the very bottom floor. Due to the house being a cabin it was very creaky, so you can hear everyone above you!

We had great time staying at this Durango home. We golfed, swam, hiked and rode bikes in Durango area. It’s a beautiful and well stocked place.

Loved our stay at the cabin. It’s half a mile from purgatory, and made for a great stay during our ski weekend. The heating was a little tricky to figure out, but Kevin was very responsive, amenities were great (hot tub/sauna) and we would definitely book again.
