Welcome to the Trailside Gökotta Forest Cottage: a modern, minimalist and serene nature cabin on the Birkie Trail system. Gökotta means 'to get up early to listen to sounds of birds and the forest'. Located right on Birkie Ridge Trailhead with close access to vast CAMBA trails, this is a nature escape for outdoor enthusiasts who love to bike, ski, hike, and bird watch. Enjoy ski-in ski-out to groomed trails, bike-in bike-out right onto trails, then cozy up by the woodstove or fire-pit at night.

We designed this space for a warm, cozy getaway. The overall goal of the design was a connection with nature and with the one you love, highlighting the beauty of the Driftless region. Use the onsite sauna or outdoor tub for a unique experience. Connect with nature in the Driftless Area of SW Wisconsin, drive to one of the attractions from this central location including the House on the Rock, Taliesin, Devil’s Lake Park, and more. Bring your canine companion as well, there is acreage to roam.

Maggie's Place at Echo Valley Farm

Enjoy simple living in this cabin set in the heart of our farm. Walk the property or go the short distance to Wildcat Mountain State Park or to Kickapoo Valley Reserve. A hiker's paradise you can also enjoy fresh baked goods from our bakery May through October, or pre order year round. Linens on 2 comfortable beds, bottled water and wash water, coffee maker, electric kettle, fire pit, charcoal grill and a non chemical port-o-let. No frig. No pets. LGBTQ owned and operated. Surrounded by trees, settled right on Lake Hayward sits this charming & cozy cabin in a little cabin community less than half a mile from downtown Hayward.
