Our cottage is a charming converted stone stable. Unwind beneath oak beams or relax in the oak framed west-facing sunroom - perfect for relaxing on the rare 4 seater 'Bishops Pew' after exploring the Forest. Ruardean is the birthplace of ‘Horlicks’ and the ‘Who Killed The Bears’ mystery. It is an ideal Forest & Wye Valley base with a shared garden, secure bike storage, and parking (EVC available). Wordsmith's Cottage

Boasting old floorboards, original beams and quirky features, this historical semi-detached cottage allows guests to switch off from the outside world. The location benefits from easy access to countryside walks but it's also just a few minutes walk from charming shops, cafés and country pubs. Our first guests used the space as an escape to write their scripts and novels and we encourage all guests to relish in the romance of village living and explore their creativity.

On the edge of The Forest of Dean and Wye Valley, this cosy getaway is a professionally converted and exquisitely decorated annex to our main property. This conversion was completed in 2022. PLEASE NOTE... You are welcome to use the woodburner during the summer months (May - Sept inclusive) but I do not supply firewood during this period. Please bring your own supplies of firelighters, kindling and logs if you would like an inside fire during the summer.
