The river has heavy tidal flow (no river use from home). The Hoquiam River support runs of Chinook, chum, and coho salmon, steelhead, and sea-run trout. just a couple of miles upriver from Historic Downtown Hoquiam restaurants, stores and shops, 20 min to coast 45 min drive to Lake Quinault hiking trails South Shore Trailhead.

You'll find restaurants, a supermarket and more in town. Nearby you'll find two state parks. Ocean beaches are an easy drive away, and we're on the Olympic National Park loop. Red Gables is a brand new home located on a large trout pond continually fed by a fresh flowing creek. The outdoor deck practically touches the water, with fish jumping and cranes in the distance...perfect for fishing, paddling, or floating. This getaway has floor to ceiling windows overlooking the water. With quick access to the ocean and the Olympics, Red Gables is centrally located for amazing day trips in every direction. The house shares the property and water with two RV pads.

This quiet hillside home with amazing views is ten minutes from I-5 and just outside of town. The spacious living room with writing desk, bedroom, bath, mini-kitchen (with hot plate), patio, and private coded entrance are on the lower floor of this rural mid-century modern house—our family home since 1960.
