Black+ Shack was great and matched the description perfectly. The pool was a treat and the fireplace worked beautifully. It suited our needs very well, and whilst the surroundings were quiet with not much around, that's exactly why we booked it. A great modern house with an awesome view in a beautiful part of Tassie.

Perfection. Attention to detail- even in the kitchen…we had all the dishes and utensils necessary to cook like a chef at the house! There are even pantry items there- so check on that before running to the grocery store in town because we bought doubles in some things. I’m sure the selections in the pantry will vary. In addition, there may be garden produce ready for the picking!! Make sure and check with the host first- that will be seasonal, I’m sure. Beds are comfortable, showers have hot water, tub with jets is helpful after a day of sight-seeing. As owner notes, it isn’t hot, just warm…but it was still a good experience. Decks overlook bay/ocean- you get to witness the changing colors of the Hazards throughout the day standing over the bay. And if you are wondering- we saw amazing Aurora lights out over the water! Windows everywhere! Just incredible’views- there are no words. And you boy minutes from Swansea. Host has a book with restaurant suggestions. Grocery.❤️

We had a really fun stay at this property. We had two families, combined there were 5 kids and 4 adults. Plenty of space, the pool and sauna and hot tub were great. The area was nice as well with the beach at your door step. Apart from not having a laundry to use at the house, it was a great time and we look forward to staying again

Absolutely magical! This secluded beachfront cabin is the definition of paradise. Completely off-grid and blissfully private, it feels like your own hidden slice of heaven. Waking up to the sound of waves and sipping coffee with uninterrupted ocean views was pure therapy for the soul. No neighbors, no noise—just you, the sea, and serenity. It’s the ultimate escape for anyone craving peace, beauty, and total relaxation. We didn’t want to leave!

Owen’s place is spacious, and he’s a helpful and responsive host. Not only did he provide clear check-in instructions, but he also thoughtfully prepared kindling for the fire, which made our stay feel warm and created a special moment for intergenerational conversation between my kids and my parents-in-law. Another highlight was the kitchen—well-stocked with all the essentials and more. We were especially grateful for the thoughtful inclusion of food items that suited my in law’s needs. The fully equipped laundry was also a great bonus, making it easy for us to stay comfortable throughout the trip. Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough time to enjoy everything the house offers, including the sports facilities. As our family said, we truly wished we could’ve stayed longer. Hopefully, we’ll have the chance to revisit next time!

Absolutely stunning. If you’re wanting to escape to the peace and beauty of Freycinet this is the place. Outside bath is not to miss.

What a wonderful space our hosts have created - gorgeous decor and furnishings in such a serene setting. We loved every minute - thoughtful touches on arrival such as music playing and a beautiful diffuser creating a wonderful ambience along with a surprise gift to be opened upon departure were not expected but greatly appreciated. All of the outside amenities were spotless and we wish we had more time to try out the pizza oven and fire pit, but made good use of the sauna and hot tub and can't wait to return in the future. We highly recommend everything about our stay.

Meg's place was gorgeous. The view of the hazards was particularly breathtaking at sunrise. The location is excellent, you can walk everywhere in coles bay and you can even make a detour towards the cycle and walking path for some more breathtaking vistas. Such good value for money right in the heart of Freycinet!

Wonderful stay. All you could ask for with all the amenities you need. Great location and really comfortable beds and bedding. Wendy’s place was spotless, everything was sparkling.

We had a lovely stay. We loved the fire pit and enjoyed sitting around the fire in the evenings. Was a close walk to the pub for dinner 😊 also had great kitchen utensils if you were going to cook and lots of extra little touches!

We stayed for 3 nights with 4 adults and 4 children under 5. The home was perfect for our travelling party as it accommodate the kids as well as the adults. We loved the open living space, it allowed the kids to have room to spread out. The beds were comfy and the bathrooms very clean. We’d stay here again if we were to visit Bicheno.

once again it was wonderful stay. I have stayed before and loved it so came back again. everything was perfect for a quick get away... will be back again soon. thank you again Shane.

We had a short stay catching up with family who live in the area, only wished it had been longer ! The property is superb with a great coast relaxation vibe and with every amenity you could want. Congratulations to our host on not only the property but the process. Will be back !

Beautiful home in fantastic location right on the beach front of Coles Bay. The house has a very fresh, relaxed atmosphere. Great spot for the family or couples to stay. The host provides great local recommendations and is very helpful. Lovely basket of treats on arrival as well which added a lovely touch! I would highly recommend staying here. :-)

This was a great place for a family gathering of 2 couples, 4 singles and 3 children. We all found beds (with a bit of adaptability)over the 5 sleeping rooms The gathering areas were good also, with two slightly separate seating areas within the one big space so the chn could play on their screens away from us. The table tennis table was also a great hit. It was lovely that all 11 of us could sit around the dining table for meals. Outside sitting areas were also very comfortable. The beach was just a bit of a walk from the back door through a well defined bush track. Swansea provided a great IGA for meal prep and a nice coffee shop or two. A lovely holiday. Thank you Donnalee and Pete. You were great hosts.

Catherine’s home is terrific: lovely, within walking distance of places to eat (we loved the RSL); the kitchen was NOT too small-there was plenty of room for both of us with a well-stocked pantry with olive oil, vinegar, a variety of spices, mustards…it is in easy driving distance of so many places to eat/see. We wouldn’t hesitate to say “just book it”. You’ll be glad you did

We were all hoping for an escape and time to reset. Svens and Lisa have made a beautiful retreat for families or couples just wanting to get away from it all and enjoy what the location has to offer. I can’t speak highly enough of how much effort they have gone to, to make you feel welcome. It is all the little things that you don’t expect that surprise you. They have obviously traveled themselves and remember what it was like. From a family perspective, there is an abundance of things to keep them entertained or just out of your hair. Parents will love it just as much as kids will. The beach is just a few steps through the sand to pristine conditions and for most part you have 9 miles of it to yourself. I wish we had stayed longer.

Peppermint Tree cottage was delightful. Maria and Paul present the cottage beautifully. The fireplace ready to warm our evenings. Morning sun in the new kitchen, with everything that we needed. Afternoon sun warms the bathroom, deck and kitchen. It was just what we were looking for. Very comfy and cosy on the cool Tassie nights. We loved our stay at Peppermint Tree cottage. Ash n Jill
