Huisjes in Houghton Lake

I booked this beautiful home after my first reservation and host cancelled on me due to the storms. Well, I can say… we are so happy with our stay. It was exactly as described and even better than expected. April really is a one of a kind host, so good that I had to take notes for my own Air bnb adventure. She thought of everything! I’ve never had a better stocked kitchen. We always cook and make a big meal and we sure did not want for anything. We were even greeted with a local baked good and extra sheets and blankets for the dogs. These hosts were the best I’ve had in Michigan, if not the whole country. I’m thankful for people who truly consider someone’s stay and thinks of it all. Thank you again to the hosts. The Cabin was spotless and one of my favorite features was the deer lights.

Beautiful cottage to stay at! My 4 teenage boys, my Dad, and myself all enjoyed it very much! The boys really liked the Recreation room and even the activities in there to bring outside and play, such as basketball and badminton. Robert and Jill were quick to respond and very friendly. The cottage was clean and had some cute little touches to welcome us. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it!

Even with cold, rainy weather, we still had the best weekend staying here! The cabin is so cozy with everything we needed, we felt right at home. Being right in the water was fantastic, especially enjoying the view from the hot tub on the colder days. If you're in the area I would highly recommend staying here!

We had a great time at Stacey’s place. Her home was very relaxing, a quick walk to the lake and dog-friendly—which is huge. Everyone in the area was friendly and respectful. We enjoyed spending time at the maplehurst dock, in the backyard at the bonfire pit under the tall trees and bistro lights, and relaxing inside playing games and watching shows. From s’mores ingredients and condiments to paper products and bath essentials, the house had all the extras that lots of other rentals ask you to bring. If you’re going to be staying during a hot week (above 80), we recommend bringing an extra fan for the main space. Otherwise, the windows kept the place cool and comfortable. We’d definitely stay here again.

My family enjoyed our stay here! The kids loved playing on the lake. There were more amenities than in the listing so if you aren’t sure if they have something then just ask! Ping pong in the garage was fun and we used the paddle boards.

Great place, full of beautiful decor and modern pieces. Both homes were great. Need a television in main guest area. Will recommend.

Kathleen was a very responsive and communicated well. Her place was exactly as described in the description. It was a very nice cabin, perfect for a couple families to enjoy themselves without being right on top of each other. The hot tub was especially nice after a long day on the ski hill! Would definitely stay here again in the future! Thanks for such a nice cabin and great experience!

Lovely home on Rose Lake. Very quiet and peaceful. Home has plenty of room for a family of 5 .(3 adults and 2 kids) The kiddos loves the hammock in the backyard by the water and roasting marshmallows at the fire pit. A definite add to our favorites list. Will stay again and recommend to our other family when they stay up here.

We had a great weekend with our adult kids. We planned a quick buggy trip with our daughter and son in law to spend some time together and play in the woods as we like to say. Home was close to trails. Lake was a plus for us! We will plan a trip in the warmer months to spend some time on the lake. Beautiful home. Kitchen has all you need to cook just like home. Bathrooms stocked as well. Thanks Ben we will definitely be back 👍🏼

This was our second time staying at Jennifer's place. We absolutely love it! It is perfect for our family of 4. A short walk down the driveway and you are at a park, beach, and fishing dock. The beach is great! The water is clear and no seaweed. My son and I caught small blue gills at the fishing dock, and my daughter loves the park. Also, be sure to check out The Depot (10 min walk) for ice cream and pizza! Well be back!

Wonderful stay over the weekend! Jerry was the most accommodating Airbnb host I have expirenced to date. Place was very nice and met all the needs of home. Plenty of room in the driveway for multiple snowmobile trailers. 5 star stay and I hope to be back again when in the area.

Our family took our spring break vacation at this wonderful place! We were able to unplug from the real world and enjoy time together! The location was wonderful! Even though it was cold, we had the game room downstairs and a bunch of board games that were provided by Brenda! The best part was the VHS tapes that our children never had seen before. The kids loved it as much as we did! Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

Great little cottage. Loved the location and the proximity to town. Everything we needed. Will definitely return hopefully when it isn’t cold and rainy so I can enjoy the beautiful screened porch and nice yard/firepit.

Kellie’s an amazing host made our check in easy and she was very accommodating even with us booking just hours before our last minute trip to go trail riding between us forgetting to pack coffee which she had covered with her nice selection of Keurig coffee cups and a fully stocked kitchen for any cooking needs, the beds are very comfy this cozy cabin makes you feel right at home

Beautiful place, so peaceful and quiet. The cottage was incredibly clean and welcoming. There are several restaurants close by. If you are looking for a quiet place to rest and unwind, I would highly recommend staying here.

Great family getaway! Clean, accurately described, plenty of space indoors and out. Amenities were more than adequate.

My family, friends, and I enjoyed staying at Tim’s property once again. Tim is easy to reach if needed for anything, and was a great host. The property is well located and beautiful! Walking distance to dine out, or just a few minutes drive to get groceries, while still feeling tucked away. We hope to stay again next summer.

What a beautiful little lakefront cottage! We came to Higgins Lake for cross country skiing at CX Skiing Headquarters, 5 minutes from this cottage. Anita was very responsive and left little extras like wine and chocolates. We truly felt at home and the lake views were so beautiful. Thank you!

Stayed at the cottage for 2 months in the middle of winter. Was very comfortable and got to meet my host when she came to drop off extra supplies and TV’s. We are a group of 3 disabled Vets and 2 emotional support animals moving across the country and Missy made us feel welcome and at home. She had great communication pre-booking too when I checked to ensure her place met our needs. Beautiful views of the lake from the kitchen. Spent time watching the locals ice fishing. Friendly but not intrusive neighbors too. Ran into some while taking out the trash. We had a great stay and would definitely book this cottage again.

Katie the house was lovely, perfect for a weekend to relax and recharge. It did rain pretty much all day but there was enough to keep us entertained. We had dinner at Tipsy Bear in West Branch and it was phenomenal. Strongly suggest! We look forward to staying with you again

Loved the cabin!!! Super cute and homey, loved how pet friendly it was. The hosts were super responsive and went above and beyond for welcoming. Will definitely book again as we come up often!
