Moon Bay Cottage is the quintessential Maine seaside retreat, tucked away in a small cottage community, with beautiful views, and only a few steps away to the private community beach on Penobscot Bay. We named Moon Bay Cottage for our favorite time to visit, when the moon is full, and the moonlight shimmers on the waters of Penobscot Bay. We invite you to come and fall in love with this wonderful spot where you drift to sleep listening to the lapping waters of the Bay, and calls of the Loons.

You're within easy walking distance of sandy beaches, restaurants, shops, a coffee roaster, and a market. Explore nearby hiking trails, Mount Battie, and the charming towns of Belfast, Camden, Rockport, and Rockland.

Centrally-located to many attractions such as Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, Whale Watching, Lobster Fishing tours. Less than 5 minutes from local Ellsworth restaurants, shops, gas stations and supermarkets. The sunroom is perfect for morning coffee, winding down with a glass of wine or curling up with a good book on the boat bed.

SPECIAL: 10% discount for a 28+ day stay. This bright and cozy two-room TINY HOUSE was built in 2018 as a honeymoon suite. A full kitchen with cookware, dinnerware, coffee pot, microwave. A heat pump provides heating and cooling. Shaded picnic table and small propane grill. Two-night minimum with parking for one car only (no trucks/trailers). Ask about extra parking. One well-behaved dog is allowed, note $35 pet fee. No other pets or children. No TV, good wifi. 10pm quiet zone.

This coastal town is truly a gem, but if you’d like to explore further afield, it’s also an excellent base for day trips to Camden (30 minutes) or Acadia National Park (1.25 hours.) There is plenty of sight-seeing in this picturesque area. Rockland is just 10-minutes away where you can enjoy shopping, restaurants, museums, galleries, lighthouses and festivals.

Property borders Scott’s Landing - a treasure trove of birds, sand dollars, porpoises, seals & a family of foxes. *Queen bed + flip down sofa (latter suitable for 1 adult OR 2 small kids)

Historic schoolhouse of Brooklin converted into the perfect one bedroom getaway. Located across the street from the Brooklin Rockbound Capel with a quick 20-minute drive to Blue Hill. Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor or Bangor are all with in an hour away. The original post and beam construction, with a sleeping loft, give the interior a rustic vibe offset by the playful color palette and butterfly wallpaper make it more botanical and lighthearted.
