Definitely an amazing place, beautiful! But secluded make sure to stock up on groceries and essentials before arriving nearest market is about 16 minutes away. Overall great stay!

We had such a delightful stay here. The photos don’t do it justice. The kitchen was exceptionally well equipped, which we used extensively. When a couple of minor issues with the house popped up, Brian responded immediately. I can’t recommend this place highly enough.

Place was amazing! Had a comfortable and peaceful stay. Is a beautiful home and close to everything that is needed. Loved how private it was and how clean everything was. Highly recommend.

Great house that matches description and pictures. Very responsive and helpful host. House had a lot of extras that many rentals don’t. Private and close to towns. Would rent here again for sure.

4 humans and 2 dogs, we all had a fantastic time at this house! The house itself is very. large, spacious and interior is so cute, everything is functioning well, to stay comfortably. It is actually amazing for EVERYTHING to be working in a large house like this! Also all the details about stay is written in the manual - well organized binder, so you can always refer back to it in case you have any questions. The owners are also very responsive via email too :) I esp loved the landscape of the huge garden, it is beautifully taken care of, with nice lighting at night. Kids enjoyed trampoline, and we all soaked in hot tub outside in the snow, it was amazing! I just wanted to stay in a spacious beautiful comfortable house and relax, read, play board games, cook, stroll, - quality time with love ones, so it was absolutely perfect for that !

This cabin is chic, cozy, and in a beautiful secluded location, such that you can take a dip in the hot tub listening only to birds. It's a true getaway treat. Highly recommend.

Wonderful little cabin with a beautiful view! Needed a place to stay while my house was having work done on it...the porch was perfect as a temporary office, bedroom was nice and dark- I slept like a log! Best touch was Michele's homemade jam!

Henry's beautiful home and yard provided the perfect getaway for 5 friends who try to get together at least once a year, coming from 3 different states. The large rooms, clean/fresh bed linens and towels, two full bathrooms and spacious living room adjacent to the kitchen gave us jus t the right setting in which to enjoy each other's company. Breakfast at the kitchen table overlooking the backyard was bright and sunny first thing in the morning. We especially liked the backyard patio, which gets sun all day long. After a cold rainy start to our stay, we were able to enjoy a warm afternoon on the patio - sunshine, blue skies, birds, budding trees and the soothing sound of the water fountain and small pond . We found great restaurants in both Kent and in Litchfield. As an avid gardener, I can just picture Henry's beautiful landscaping when all is in bloom later in the season. Very comfortable place to hang out! We wouldn't hesitate to give others a recommendation for Henry's home.

We had a wonderful stay at this cozy and beautiful cabin! It was exactly the quiet, relaxing, and secluded getaway we were looking for. We were welcomed with a beautiful basket full of goodies. The bed was comfortable, and the sauna and large jacuzzi tub were perfect for unwinding. The kitchen was well-equipped, and having both a crock pot and air fryer made meal prep super convenient. We really enjoyed the cozy wood-burning fireplace. Communication with Elle was excellent—she was very responsive and helpful throughout. Although it rained during our visit and we didn’t get to use the outdoor spaces much, there are some lovely spots for enjoying a fire or just relaxing outside.Highly recommend this cabin for anyone looking to recharge in a peaceful retreat!

Our family of four had a wonderful winter weekend at Erma’s house. The house was comfortable, even during a winter storm. Erma made sure to have the driveway plowed, so we could still enjoy a day of skiing. And the sunset views were beautiful! We would definitely stay here again.

The location is amazing with the beautiful surroundings, the Catamount ski resort is in 10 minutes drive, we had a blast tubing there with my 4yo. The house was spacious and clean, easy to find and get in. Communication with Austin was perfect, he's a very helpful host.

We had a great time at Josh’s place. It’s such a beautiful spot and wonderful home. Josh was super helpful and responsive. He made it so easy. Would definitely come back and recommend!

We booked this trip last minute during our daughter’s spring break. It was a little under 2 hours from NYC and felt like a world away. The hosts were always available and helpful with everything down to local suggestions. Every detail of the cabin is thoughtfully laid out and provided. We slept four comfortably, but mostly spent our time outside. The property alone offers many trails to explore and made us feel entirely off the grid. The porch around the cabin had locks which would be great for young kids or pets. The surrounding towns were cute and restaurants were excellent. Everything including a supermarket seems to be 10 minutes or under, but we mainly liked staying on the property. We can’t wait to come back in warmer months to go tubing!

What a beautiful cabin. Exactly as the photos depicted and soo much more. We stayed for 5 days mid winter and it was just amazing. The cabin was very well stocked and the fireplace was a godsend. Super clean, beautiful comfy furniture and an amazing bed. Although it was well below freezing outside we were never cold for a moment inside. Elisabeth even arranged for the approach road to be snowploughed and also ordered salt for the road on our day of departure to ensure we could safely navigate the road back. Super service, super place, super location. Will definitely be back.

“The Shire” is a magical place to stay! It is truly in the middle of the woods. The carpentry in the cabin is intriguing. Cupboards and closets are hidden everywhere. Skylights let you wake up looking at the undersides of treetops and the sky. Michael and Beth are excellent hosts and very good at communicating.

We stayed just one night during a long distance cycling adventure, but were really charmed by all of the little touches that made the place unique. The solar powered lanterns around the property add a magical glow to the surroundings. And the small cabin had exactly what you need. The outdoor latrine was clean and really thoughtfully done - obviously well looked after. We stayed during mid-October, and the night temperature low was 42F. Our hosts provided drinking water, some glasses, spoons, tea, and instant coffee, which was much appreciated. We were able to charge our various devices with the power available in the cabin, and we stayed very warm with the provided space heater, and didn’t need to put it on full blast - if anything we were almost too warm when going to bed, but we were able to adjust it down and slept well all night long!

A beautiful place to stay and great host. I can’t wait to come back and stay at the other cabins on the farm too. Even though it was raining the cabin was so pleasant to be in and enjoy the views from the large windows!

I highly recommend Tina's yellow cabin by the lake. We had come to Hillsdale as a family for a wedding. I chose Tina's cabin because there was something for the different members of my family. Fishing for my brother and husband. Swimming for my Sister in law and my self. Beautiful big porch to sit and relax. Unfortunately we got stuck in the cabin for the first day and a half due to heavy rain. Never fear we played board games and visited. As the weather broke we were able to fenture outside and enjoy our stay even more. Tina checked on us several times through our our stay, she wanted to be sure we had all we needed. If you are looking for a cute quiet place with plenty to do...check out Tina's yellow cabin by the lake.

This is a great place for a cozy retreat in comfort. Set in a clearing at the edge of the woods and facing a pond, the house is very well equipped and attractive. The collection of books, puzzles, and toys was most welcome, as were the coffee grinder and stocked pantry. Communication with the host was most welcoming and friendly.
